How do i wake up a mac book air when in power nap mode?

Simply hitting a key doesn't work to wake up my macbook air when it is in the power nap mode. When the screen is dim, moving the touchpad or clicking any key works great, when the power nap kicks in, its a pain to wake up.

1) Did it finish downloading? if no, you have nothing more to worry about.
2) Are you using Safari?
3) If using Safari, do you have Safari set to run/open any files automatically?
4) Is your system updated with the latest security update? If not, why?
The bottom line is whether the download was able to install anything.
As long as your settings are such that no download is able to automatically open, and you ae up to date on your security updates, then you haven't much to worry about.
Be familiar with the programs in your application folder, such that you would notice anything not supposed to be there. As well, check and make sure that nothing unknown is being launched at startup (check your account settings).
The absolute best security a Mac can have is an aware and familair user who is moderately vigilant.

How do i set permission for mac book air to use drop box?

I am trying to share photos with my son's mac book air. Each time he tries to access my Mac it says he doesnt have permission to access the Dropbox. I cant find out how to change this.
His Mac book air has Air drop but it seems that I don't have this facility.
I have tried exporting files to Mac book air and it looks like they have gone through but can't find them!
It is exasperating- I thought sharing files would be easy- have no hard wiring to do it with so does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

If your MBP has Lion installed then you have iCloud by updating to 10.7.2.
If you have a 2011 MBP then Lion should be pre-installed. If it is not then you can purchase and download it via the App Store if you have 10.6.6 or later installed. If you have older PPC-only applications such as Office 2004, then they will have to be upgraded because PPC-only applications will not run in Lion.
You can, however, add a second partition to your hard drive and install Lion on that partition. In this way you can keep your older applications and boot into Snow Leopard when you need to use them.

I disabled my microphone in Bootcamp Win7 Ultimate 64B and now it is completly gone. I used the Windows support CD I made and re-installed the 64B Cirrius drivers but the microphone is no where to be found also missing in device manager as well as Control Panel Audio.

How do I tell if my mac book air will run mountain lion?

I've seen it asked a lot of times. I've seen the same answer every time, which is "so long as it's a late 2008 model"
My macbook air is silver... it says "macbook air" on it... I bought it once upon a time... it is running leopard... it does not appear to have a date stamp...
Do macbook air once-upon-a-time models run mountain lion? Or is there, possibly, some clue somewhere in the system data and about boxes that I might check? You know, like processor speed or graphics or memory? What does "late" 2008 mean anyway? how late? If I bought it in August it won't work but if I bought it in September from a shop that had been stocking it since June it will? Come on...
I don't even want to upgrade, I just find I pretty much have to now or I can't access anything (like the app store). I'm feeling obliged to pay to keep my machine working without being able to work out in advance if I even can - this has put me in a fairly negative frame of mind, and is why you are going to have to live with a fairly grumpy help request!

Apple uses descriptors like "Late 2008" to indicate when models change. It has nothing to do with the time of year a system might be sold. The late 2008 MBA specs are here.
Type in your systems serial number here, and it will tell you what you have. You can find your serial number by clicking on the apple to the left side of the menu bar. Underneath the MAC OS X where it says what level of operating system you have, click on that until you see the serial number.

FIX:
1. You need Time Machine
2. Go to folder /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/
3. Copy AppleCamera.plugin to good place (usb memory stick is the best place).
4. Go to Time machine in date that skype work fine.
5. Change AppleCamera.plugin with file from Time Machine
6. Restart system, Now skype need to work with camera.

He also stated that he has never had a presenting complaint or has ever heard of a problem with their computers and skype
he just had not heard of same, thats all. A fix for the skye connection with the camera with 10.8.5 is coming from Apple, I wont however conjecture on the time frame,... but you can assume soon.

Well, since you dropped it, this problem is not covered by Apple's limited warranty. You should take it in for service and have a professional look at it. We have no idea what kind of damage was done to it when it was dropped.

Mac Book Air, when using iMovie shows Half of actual RAM

I have noticied multiple number of times that when I use my MBA and run iMovie for movie editing. it seems to loose half of the RAM in my case I am using :
- 1.3 Core i5
- 4 GB RAM
- OS X - 10.9.1
As soon as I start using iMovie and use it for sometime... I see the that fan comes on after sometime... and then the RAM halfs its self to 2GB. The total memory shown as well is 2 GB instead of 4GB. Is this a known problem ir yes what is the resolution to this problem.
