How do I wipe my '07 Macbook HD and reinstall back to 10.6

I am giving my brother my old white macbook from 2007. I want to wipe the hard drive clean. The computer came with 10.4 (Tiger). I have since purchased the 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6  (Snow Leopard) retail discs. The current OS is now 10.6.
My goal is to completely wipe the hard drive and start fresh. I am just not sure which discs to start with and use. A lot of the forums have different solutions and I just want to make sure I don't completely mess it up since its no longer under apple care.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
-Dan

Put your Snow Leopard, if you have the Apple Restore discs put in the first one they should be labeled, disc in the drive. Restart the MacBook and on the grey screen hold down the C button on the keyboard. This should force the laptop to boot using the disc. Once it boots into the disc at the top of the screen click on the Utilities menu and then Disk Utility. When Disk Utility opens click on your hard drive on the left side. With your hard drive selected click on the Erase tab. For Volume Format click Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and rename the drive to what you want in the Name field. Click "Erase..." and follow the steps. This shouldn't take very long to erase the drive. Once its done exit disk utility and follow the steps to install Snow Leopard and you should be all set.

How do I synch my iPhone5, MacBook Pro and Apple TV so that my iTunes downloads appear automatically on all three devices?

Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
After this, do an update from the App Store.
Thats all there is to it.
For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though.

How do I know if my macbook air is being backed up in my icloud account

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I'm sure that your Mac isn't being backed up on iCloud, because Macs can't be backed up on iCloud (that's for iPhones, iPods touch and iPads).
If you want to check what's using your iCloud storage, open System Preferences > iCloud > Manage

I tried to update itunes and now it won't open, how do I fix it?  Will uninstalling and reinstalling erase my library?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • How do I erase mountain lion developer preview and go back to Lion 10.7? I do not have lion or data backed up on my Air

How do I erase mountain lion developer preview and go back to Lion 10.7? I do not have lion or data backed up on my Air
I need a step by step instructions since I have never done this before, willing to set up partition if needed.

If you installed Lion from the Mac App Store or got it with the computer, restart with the Option key held down and see if its recovery partition still exists; if it does, tab to it, use the Disk Utility on it to erase the Mountain Lion partition or repartition the drive, and install Lion onto the blank partition. If you installed Lion from the USB thumb drive, use that.

  • How to uninstall apps from Creative Cloud App and reinstall it on your computer and CC App?

Sorry, my English is not good. I have a Creative Cloud app on my computer. I used the CC applications such as Ps, Pr, Au ... of two days, but I had to do a system restore two weeks back. Now re-installed Creative Cloud on my computer. I do not have Ps, Pr, Au ... on the computer but on the App Cloud Creative sees them as installed on the computer. So I can not reinstall them because I do not give permission, it is only optional update, but I do not like, because they do not want on your computer. How to uninstall apps from Creative Cloud App and reinstall it on your computer and CC App? Please help, I have a little time.

how do i send an email to addressee and receive back a confirmation that the addressee received my email?

Even if you find a way to send the request for a read confirmation with the email, you are dependent on the recipient's mail system and/or mail reading software to notice it and comply with it. Many do not do so, either because they cannot or because somebody has disabled (or not enabled) the feature.

  • How do i view photos in macbook pro, and while viewing how can i delete the unwanted photos with delete button?

1 My questions are about viewing and managing photos from a folder.
    a. How do i view photos in macbook pro - i know the space bar thingy but does not help my purpose?
    b. While viewing how can i delete the unwanted photos with delete button?
    c. How can i increase the size of the photos that i am seeing in the form of icons?

double clicking in iPhoto will open the photo.
The left and right arrow key will move between photos, as well as swiping on a trackpad or Apple mouse.
See >System Preference>Trackpad or mouse  for options and tut
While selected or in the smaller icon view hitting the Delete key will delete the pic.
Command Z will undo the last action taken.
Periodically you have to empty the iPhoto trash.  iPhoto drop down menu>empty trash
Same applies for viewing pics in a Folder NOT in iphoto,  Use the up and down arrows does not work in Preview, but as you know in QuickLook (spacebar) the up and down arrows will navigate.

  • How can I securely erase my hard drive and reinstall OS X Mountain Lion?

Hi, I am selling my MacBook and I was wondering if there's a way I can securely erase my hard drive, (... 7 pass, 35 pass) using these steps: http://www.mactip.net/how-to-securely-wipe-your-mac-hard-drive-before-selling-it /
and also reinstall OS X Mountain Lion afterwards.
    Thanks in advance. 

Boot into recovery mode by holding the command and r keys down during boot. Bring up Disk Utility and do the security erase you want to do. When done, choose to download Mountain Lion.
