How do I work out what pages templates have in them ?

I think i do this !
how do I work out what pages templates have in them ?

Hi c,
"Instinctive" (and "Intuitive", the more common term) seem to be often used where "what you're used to" would be a more accurate choice. Nothing about Page Layout is particularly instinctive if you've never done it before.
Regarding 'greying out' some of the tools: Tools and menu items go grey when they aren't available. For example, you can't move an object to the front if you don't have an object selected (or if the selected object is the only thing in the document), or if the selected object is already further forward than anything else in the document. Anytime it is possible to use the tool/menu item in the current context, the tool/item will be active, and shown in dark type.
You mention you are headed toward a "business plan/power point thing." The first (business plan) makes me think in terms of print, and something to be produced from a word processing template rather than page layout one. The second part say 'this will be projected on a screen' and says 'Keynote would be a better application for this task than Pages.'
Keynote is a presentation tool, designed to produce documents that will be presented on a screen (ie. designed for the same type of documents as Powerpoint was built to produce).
Pages has two basic document types, both aimed at producing documents that will be printed:
Word processing—used for things like letters and reports. In general, documents that are mostly text, but that may have some illustrations, charts, or other graphics objects inserted into them.
Page layout—used where there's a mix of graphics and text, with the text usually coming in smaller chunks.
The biggest difference between them is that a 'blank' page layout document is really 'blank'. It can be thought of as a page sized blank canvas onto which you can place containers for text (text boxes), shapes, images, charts, or containers (placeholders) for images or other objects.
A blank word processing document can also accept the objects and containers listed above, but also includes a text layer (where text can be entered directly, without the need to place it into a text box), and a background layer (where objects can be placed behind the text layer).
If the above helps you choose the type of document you want to have as the end product, we can then take a look at one of the templates for that type and look at deconstructing it.
Regards,
Barry

how do i find out what numbers i have included on the find my phone app?

Sorry, but what do you mean by "what numbers I have included"? Find My iPhone doesn't store nor go by phone numbers, if that's what you're referring to. It's done by the Apple ID you used to set up Find My iPhone on the device you wish to track, and the devices will be shown by name.
You may need to explain further what it is you're asking or are trying to accomplish.

  • How do I find out what filters I have used in an open document?

How do I find out what filters I have used in an open document? I have been playing around with several filters and do not remember what I have done. I would like to use this filter setting for another image.
    Thanks

    1) save as psd for reverting later if needed
    2) Click on the filter closest to the bottom in the history panel.
    3) Choose the filter from the filter menu that was listed in the history panel
4)See what settings are there then click cancel
5)Repeat for the next filter up on the history panel
Do all of this before creating more steps that could push those steps from the history panel or close the document or photoshop as the history panel will be cleared.
Disclaimer: Even though the settings should be in the filters that you used last, there is no guarantee especially if used again afterwards with a different setting.

  • How do I work out what is in the 'other' section of my Itunes?

I have an 8GB Touch, and the section in my itunes 'other' is getting bigger, I cant work out what to delete. I've tried deleting messages, notes, and album
artwork, but it's not working, I also have alot of photos and alot of apps too, but they have different sections. HELP!

Not if you are using the ipod as it is designed.
You should be importing all pics taken with the ipod to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.
Nothing should be only on the ipod.  You should always have at least one other copy of everything on your ipod.

    Hi,
Does anyone know how sites like google know what country you are browsing from and automatically forwards you to the local country site? I would like to do something similar with an ApEx application I am writing, showing country-specific things without prompting the user for their country.
    Thanks,

  • HT1420 I forgot what computers I have authorized. How do I find out what computers I have authorized in order to deauthorize the computers I don't want

This is a question more for my mother. She has already authorized 5 computers, but she is pretty positive she hasn't. How do we find out how to find out what computers she has authorized, so we can deauthorize computers she doesn't want. Does it matter if it was an old computer that we don't have anymore, or is it based on accounts that are authorized?

Sign in to the account in question, go to Account Information and under Account ID Summary, you need to Deauthorise All. Then Authorise just the computer(s) you do want.

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • HT1420 How can I find out what computers I have authorised? Or how can I deauthorise a computer if i no longer have access to it?

    Hi,
I have 4 authorised computers for my iPhone but I have no idea what 2 of them are. Is there a way I can see what the computers authorised are? Or can I deauthorise computers that I no longer have access to?

I'm not aware of anyway to see a list of your authorised computers. Have you had other computers in the past and/or updated or reinstalled the OS on those that you still have without first deauthorising them ?  Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but when you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

In order to see which devices are authorized on your account:
    Open iTunes
    Click Store
    Click Account
    Click View Account
    Enter your password
Look in the second section iTunes in the Cloud
To the far right you'll see Manage Devices
Once it's clicked you will see all of the devices currently authorized in iTunes/on your account

For anyone who may come across this thread, Tina is incorrect. That doesn't show all the systems that are authorized to a given account, only those which are set up for automatic downloads or redownloading, which isn't the same as those that are authorized to an account to play protected content. There is no way to see a list of those systems which are authorized to the account.
