  • Difference between Identity Manager and Access Manager

    hi,
Can any body tell me the difference between Identity manager and Access Manager.
    thanks in advance
    regards
    dhawanmayur

Access Manager is for access control (web authentication, authorization), Identity Manager is for identity (userid, profile, role, password etc) provision/management across multi resources (such as unix, active directory, peoplesoft, SAP) etc.

  • What are condition variables? how do condition variables and monitors work?

What are condition variables? how do condition variables and monitors work? Isn't condition variables the same as semaphore? After reading their implementaion over and over again..I still don't know how condition variables and monitors work together to provide good synchroniztion.
    Thanks

I can tell you they have nothing to do with Serialization.
Are you refering to the Condition class in Java 5+
Usually you would use either a Condition or use synchronization, so you shouldn't need to use them together.

  • Directory Naming with OFM 11g - Identity Management Does Not Work.

I tried to find document about how to setup/implement Directory Naming with Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g- Identity Management, but without luck. We implement Directory Naming with IM 10.1.4.3 on Linux that is 32-bit only and doesn't coexist very well with OEM GC (64-bit). So we are very eager to try 64-bit of IM 11.1.1. Any information is highly appreciated. Thanks huge.

I installed OFM IM 11.1.1 on RHEL 4.8 (x64) successfully and OID is up and running. Using Net Manager in the $ORACLE_HOME/bin dir I can upload TNS to OID. But Directory Naming does not work. Dbs client could not log into any dbs server through this 11g OID. Our 10.1.4 OID works fine.

    Hi.
    1) It is not "ISE loses the credentials and asks for web portal again". Once a user is authenticated, it is authenticated as long as it stays connected. Possibilities are :
-You are returning a session timeout (attribute radius 27) in the authz profile of the user. Therefore user has to reauthenticate after X seconds. But you would see a pattern, then.
-Over wireless, many clients are not capable of doing fast roaming (smartphones is the biggest example) and will therefore reauthenticate with dot1x everytime they roam. A small coverage hole would be enough for the cached credentials to disappear and web portal to show up again
-Over wired, this cannot really occur but the idea is that it's probably the switch resetting the connection and contacting ISE again. The idea to troubleshoot this is to monitor the access device (WLC/switch) and check if the port goes up/down, if the MAB session gets reset or something and why.
    2) The captive bypass issue is that Apple devices will probe apple.com website to check if there is internet connectivity. If they can reach it, then fine, if they sense that they are redirected, they open a small window pop up with the login portal. The problem (and I still cannot understand why) is that this is not Safari, it's some nameless feature-less browser that doesn't work properly.
By enabling the captive bypass feature, the WLC intercepts the requests to the Apple testpage and replies with HTTP OK. The apple device then thinks "ok I have internet connectivity" and it's up to the user to bring up a real browser to login to the portal page.
It therefore does not affect non-Apple device to have the feature enabled.
The problem is that in IOS 7.x, Apple decided to not just use Apple.com anymore but a whole list of testpages on different websites.
    3) "whether it would solve the issue if I added certificate authentication as a secondary option, with eap-tls as the primary"
=> This is disturbing because EAP-TLS is a certificate authentication method. But ISE message seems to imply that the user is hitting an authnetication rule that only provides PEAP or EAP-FAST with mschap or something similar ...
If you have the windows default supplicant you have close to no control on what the client will submit. I can imagine that moving from wired to wireless, the laptop would sometimes try to send password instead of certificate and/or vice-versa. Anyconnect with fixed network profiles would solve the problem elegantly.
I cannot comment on your auth policies as I do not know them :-)
    Regards,
    Nicolas

  • G470 Bluetooth not listed under Device Manager and not working

    hi athirah11,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
    Can you try the following:
    1. Press the Windows key‌ +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. On the Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices and check if the Bluetooth device is being listed.
    - Link to picture
    - Link to picture
    2. If the bluetooth device shows up under the Device Manager, do the following:
        a. Under Control Panel > Programs, uninstall the Bluetooth driver/software (reboot if necessary)
        b. Run the Bluetooth Driver Installer
         -  this will identify the type of Bluetooth Device installed on the system (eg. Qualcom Atheros, Intel, etc.) and it will install a generic Bluetooth driver. If successful, the Bluetooth device and its components should now appear normally under the Device Manager.
If the bluetooth device still doesn't show up, can you provide the model number of your G470 (eg. 59xxxxxx) fur further checking.
Let me know how it goes.

  • How to scroll up and down in IBM client access using windows 7 on mac running bootcamp

How to scrool up and down in Client Access 5250 (AS/400 emulator) using windows 7 on Mac running boot camp. The key board does not function within the client access 5250 session?

You can also share a printer between the Mac/PC as well as files and mounted Volumes, see the Tiger articles here
    http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/
You may want to use Bonjour for Windows on your PC
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bonjour/
Then there are VNC clients for Mac/PC that also allow you to actually control the other machine, if they aren't in the same room and you just need to check something quick that can be handy, it's kind of slow though for regular use.
The main benefit of partitioning is being able to have different versions of bootable OS on them. You can try out Leopard on a new partition, while keeping your Tiger partition intact, you can have a XP/Vista partition for parallels or BootCamp, etc... other than that drives are pretty much fast enough, having smaller partitions probably won't realize any significant speed ups over searching the whole large drive.

  • How does systemd, wpa_supplicant, and dhcpcd work together? rtl8188su

I'm running arch with alarm (done a pacman -Syu to get latest everything) on an original Raspberry Pi model B.
I'm using a Belkin USB adapter which is really a Realtek rtl8188su chip, which is recognized with the r8712u module. I want to do it all from the command line (not running a GUI, as this Pi won't be having a display attached.)
The system recognizes the built-in Ethernet, and dhcpcd assigns it an IP address, so I can SSH into it and try to bring up the wlan0 interface.
I'm an old-school Linux/UNIX hacker, but I haven't had a lot of experience with systemd, nor with wpa_supplicant or even much of udev, so I'm a bit lost in trying to make this work.
I made sure wpa_supplicant and wpa_cli were installed. Then I edited /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf to add my ssid/passphrase, and saved it as /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.wlan0.conf. I also did "systemctl enable wpa_supplicant," and I've rebooted.
The status of the system is that it does not enable the wlan0 interface. Further, the wpa_cli tool does not work. If I run just "wpa_cli" or with a command like "wpa_cli list" then I get the error:
could not connect to wpa_supplicant - wpa_ctrl_open: No such file or directory
This is weird, because wpa_supplicant is running in dbus listen mode:
    [root@alarmpi ~]# ps alx | grep [w]pa
    0 0 94 1 20 0 5636 1416 poll_s Ss ? 0:00 /usr/sbin//wpa_supplicant -u
Each time I boot, I get this message in /dev/log/messages.log:
    Nov 10 01:40:06 alarmpi kernel: [ 648.082619] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
Now, if I insted does "systemctp stop wpa_supplicant" and start it manually, it does bring up the interface:
    [root@alarmpi ~]# wpa_supplicant -i wlan0 -D wext -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.wlan0.conf
    wlan0: Trying to associate with a0:21:b7:63:a1:98 (SSID='jwatte' freq=2462 MHz)
    wlan0: Associated with a0:21:b7:63:a1:98
    wlan0: WPA: Key negotiation completed with a0:21:b7:63:a1:98 [PTK=CCMP GTK=CCMP]
    wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-CONNECTED - Connection to a0:21:b7:63:a1:98 completed (auth) [id=0 id_str=]
    [root@alarmpi ~]# ifconfig wlan0
    wlan0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
    inet6 fe80::a86:3bff:feb4:c21a prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link>

    TX packets 5 bytes 610 (610.0 B)
    TX errors 0 dropped 1 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0
    [root@alarmpi ~]#
However, dhcpcd is not auto-launched to provide an IP address to the interface.
So, how is this supposed to work? How am I supposed to configure the system so that all the pieces click together? It should start wpa_supplicant with the right config data, and/or configure it over dbus correctly, and it should make sure dhcpcd is then invoked to obtain an IP address. I have *no idea* how to actually configure this to do the right thing, because all the tutorials and documentation I can find on the web is either very abstract ("services live in /usr/lib/systemd/...") or just claim that things "will magically work" if I have the correct configuration.
Help! Don't know what to do next!

Your manual wpa_supplicant invocation result looks good, so the major hurdle you have taken already.
For wireless you need a management method that acts as interface to wpa_supplicant and dhcp and watches the connection. Before you browse off to archlinuxarm, also read the non-abstract introduction here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wi … management

  • How can I manage and share iWork templates with users on OSX Lion Server?

I would like to use the iWork templates shared in a local Lion OSX Server network.
I would like everybody in the network to use the same iWork templates (is it possible to share these on the server?)
And I want to be able to change or add templates to this shared folder so everybody in the organization has always the same and most up to date templates.
Can somebody please tell me how to do this?

The templates delivered with the apps are embedded in the apps and the license states:
The folder used by the application to reach custom templates is on the local machine.
You may store your custom templates in a folder on the Network but the users would be unable to reach them thru the "Create from a template" menu item. An easy workaround is to install an alias of the folder on every machine.
I'm writing about templates with the official meaning.
If, as several askers, you use the word to name documents, Pages is not designed for this kind of use.
There is no provision in the app to allow several users to work simultaneously on a given document.

  • How to implement Manager Selfservice - Recording Working Time - BP

    Hi!
I would like to have a stepby step approach to implement business package for recording working time.
What I need is the following information?
    1. Pre-requisites
    2. How to create the iview ?
    3. What R3 configurations need?
you can email if you have good documentation on this to [email protected]
    Thank you
    Ramesh

The primary limitation you will encounter when trying to do high speed
digital I/O using your E-Series hardware is that the digital lines are
all software timed.  This means that for each and every digital
read it is necessary for your software to issue a command to your
hardware, read a single point, then receive the response from the
board.  This prevents you from performing digital operations at
very high speed.  In general, I would say that 100 microseconds is
a very good response using software-timed digital I/O on a Windows
    computer.
It is difficult to make a good recommendation without more detail about
what you are trying to do.  You may need to consider switching to
a Real-Time operating system, or upgrading your DAQ hardware to a board
that will allow you to time your digital acquisitions on the board
itself.  These devices, such as the m-Series DAQ or the PCI-653x
series, would allow you to use hardware triggers for your digital
acquisitions, change detection, and buffered data acquisitions to
reduce the software overhead involved in a rapid acquisition.

I have logged into iCloud.com and cannot see it there.  I can only check the storage on my primary account on my mac's and iPhone.

Unfortunately you would have to sign out of your primary used account and sign in with the other one, if you would like to check the storage of your second iCloud account. I know it is not very comfortable, but seems to be the only way.
