The iPad is looking for a 4 digit passcode that you used to lock the device. Did you set a 4 digit code when you set up your iPad? You need to enter that code in order to unlock it. If you don't know the code, you will have to restore the iPad in order to unlock it.

  • HT201272 i reset my iphone, is there any way to get ringtones back that i purchased. They are not showing up under my ringtones section anymore. thanks, kelly

I reset my iphone 4s, is there any way to get ringtones back that I purchased? They are not showing up under my available ringtones anymore

They are linked to your account, but they are also tied to the country that they were bought in - you won't be able to potentially redownload them unless you move back to the US and have a US billing address on your account (you have to be in a country to use its store, including redownloading past purchases).
Have you not got a backup copy of all of your downloads/library that you can copy them back from ? Even if you hadn't moved countries any item could be removed from the store at any time by the rights-holders (you are only guaranteed one download of any item), you should be keeping and maintaining a backup copy.

  • How do you get ringtones back on your iphone that you bought?

When my Iphone updated to the new ios last year, I had lost all the ringtones I bought. When I got to the Itunes store and do ringtones puchuresed none of them are there. Then I had bought a few new ones than restored my phone and lost all those. How do I get them back on my iphone?

You don't get your ringtones back if you didn't transferred your purchases to computer iTunes. Only for purchased music , apps, books that you can re-download for free.
    Audiobooks, ringtones, and tones
If you made a backup of these items on your Mac or PC, you can sync the items to your iOS device. You can't download these items again from iTunes in the Cloud.

Uncheck the ringtones in your sync options in iTunes and apply, check them again and apply once more.

  • How to resore my ringtones back?

I formatted my computer and now when I sync back my 3GS iPhone, I no longer see the Ringtones on my "DEVICES". How do I add it back? I have saved the ringtones in my folder.

I think I found it. It was not called "Ringtones" anymore. It was called "Tones".

  • How can I get data back that is in the trash?

I don't seem to be able to retreive clips or other data that end up in the trash. When I click on the trash icon contained in the app I am only given the option of Cancel or Empty. Is that it? Once the data is in there it's gone? Thanks.

iMovie 4 trash is a sort of virtual trash in that there isn't really a location where things are put (like your system trash) but instead a representation of how much stuff you cut out of your project. If you click empty (and never due that in iMovie 4 as there is a bug that sometimes trashes your project) what happens is iMovie rewrites all the media files to get rid of the stuff you clipped or deleted.
So there are ways to get your stuff back. One way is to select any clip and pick the restore option which will reset the clip back to the way it was before you made cuts. The downside of this is that you lose all your edits on that clip and have to redo them over if the one you wanted to undo is several edits back.
You might try this instead. Assuming your clips are all off the clip shelf and now down on the timeline, grab all the clips on the timeline, hold down the OPTION key and then drag them all back to the Clip Pane. As you drag up there while holding the OPTION key, you should see a green circle with a ( + ) in it. This means you are making a COPY to the shelf, not moving them. Drop them on the clip shelf. Now select clips on the shelf and do a restore on them from that location. I think this will let you restore the clips to their original size on the shelf while the ones on the timeline will remain untouched. Hopefully you will find what you lost.
In the future, the best way to edit in iM4 to avoid this sort of thing is to import all your clips normally onto the clip shelf on the upper right side. Now rather than dragging them down to the timeline (removing them from the clip shelf) and editing them, OPTION drag them to the timeline which will make a copy to the timeline rather than a move. Don't worry about drive space. When you make copies, they are not real copies (the media files are not duplicated) but instead just additional virtual copies, so you can make as many as you want with very little impact on drive space.
Now you can edit to your heart's content on the timeline and if you ever make a mistake or need to get back a piece of clip you deleted, the full copy remains safe and unedited up and over on the clip shelf. You can always drag down additional copies if you need to get back footage or if you want to use the same footage more than once.

  • How do you get songs back that have been lost in a computer crash?

About 2 months ago my windows had crashed. We fixed it and everything but noticed that all of the songs from my account disappeared. The file name was there but the actual song would not play. If i am to click on one it would say this.
The song " anything" could not be used because the original file
file could not be found. Would you like to locate it"
It would have an option where you could click yes or no. The first time it happened, I clicked on the yes and it would have me browse through all my files, of course none of the songs found. I have all the songs that I really wanted on my ipod nano still. Is there a way to load these songs back on the computer? Some of the songs are from cds as well as purchased from itunes.

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these

  • How can I get albums back that are on my hard drive that seem to have

uninstalled from iTunes. I have some songs that are on my iPod, but no longer in iTunes....why did this happen, and can I correct it without having to do each song or album individually?
    Thanks!

" I have some songs that are on my iPod, but no longer in iTunes"
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • How do I get photos back that weren't backed up?

    Hi,
I have just recieved a new iphone replacement.
Just after I got my new phone I didn't go home to restore my backup. I went straight to a concert. I took alot of good pictures on my iPhone. When I got home and my phone was synced to the computer. The backup then installed and I lost all my photos from the concert. Is there anyway of undoing the backup or getting my pictures back?
    Thanks.

Unless you backed up your phone first, your pictures are gone. Look: iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is there a backup listed for your new phone prior to restoring from your previous phone's backup?

  • How do I get song back that I just bight on my I phone

I bought songs on my iPhone and the screen messed up so I sent it in to warrenty and they sent me a different one is there any way to redownload them with out haveing to pay for them again

No option really since they do tell you to sync and backup your data before sending in (if possible of course).
Best thing you can do it call Apple (not an Apple store) and tell them what happened and they may put the items you bought into a download cue to download (from iTunes).
