My Macbook Pro says it errored on download, I see this error message in the APP store window under the "Purchases" icon .
It not a simple as going to the iMove site and re-downloading it because it says its already installed.

The only way to re download the iMovie app is from the App Store > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Make sure you are using the same Apple ID used for purchasing iMovie.

I really appreciate all your help. Today I spent some time on the problem. First I purchased any video converter from the ap store and then I connected the camera to the mac with the original usb cable that came with the camera. I turned on the camera and selected backup on pc and the logo came up on my home page. I opened it and after several attempts i found the 3 video files that were on the camera. I then converted them from a tod file to mp4 and then transfered them to imovie. Now I have to figure out how to send the video to youtube or move it to an external hard drive which I have not been able to do. So far I am not too fond of imovie 11. If you could send me the download for imovie 6 I then could try that route. When talking to apple support yesterday about the problem they suggested to get Final Cut Express. Well you didn't tell us what Mac you have so this is a bit of guess. You are wrong in your assuption that to get the app store you must upgrade to Lion. In fact all that you need to do is upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.6. So if your Mac can be upgraded to Snow Leopard you can get the app store.

Go to your Spotlight search. (Swipe from left to right at your primary home screen.)
Type in 'Facebook'.
You should see your Facebook app.
Unless you held down an app icon until it 'wiggles', then hit the black 'x' to delete it, you didn't delete the app.

The easiest way is to install Mountain Lion, and then you can download iMovie 11. If your Mac is supported by Mountain Lion, performance should be fine.
The other way would be to try to find a retail boxed copy of iLife 11 from eBay or Amazon. You can then install iMovie 11 up to version 9.04. But that is it, you cannot get 9.07 without at least installing Lion.

My PowerBook G4 gigabit ethernet had Panther on it, so I completely reformatted it and put Tiger on it. Turns out Tiger doesn't include iMovie 4 like Panther did. I rightfully own it, but the installation on my eMac got a mind of its own and broke as stated years ago, and I've reformatted every Mac that had Panther on it, with the exception of my iMac G3 3rd gen (slot loading) that I don't have access to at the moment. No iMovie has been download-able for free - EXCEPT iMovie 1
The rest came pre-installed on the Macs.
NON - of them came on any Mac OS Install Disks bought extra (without a Mac)
There might been some delivered on the DVDs that came with the buy of the Mac. You'll need to find this diak and use "Pacifist" to separate the iMovie install part to be able to use it.
Still there is no free legal version that works on Mac OS X. I don't think iMovie 1 runs at all.

You can get iMovie 06 in a number of ways. You cannot download it FROM APPLE any longer (it was free for a time). You can also find iMovie 06 on the iLife 06 install disc. You can buy iLife 06 on Amazon or eBay.
But be prepared to pay about double the cost of iLife 09 (but well worth every penny). Seller's are becoming aware of its value.
If you buy the iLife 06 disk, only install iMovie 06 from it. iMovie 06 will not delete anything and it works fine with iDVD 09.

I did the movie on my old MacBook Pro because I was modifying an earlier production, both of which used iMovie 09. I simply wanted to use my new MacBook Pro to view it on iTunes. I'm not sure if I burned the DVD of the movie and put it on my new MacBook if I could view it thru the current version of iMovie.

I'd suggest a fresh reinstall of iMovie then. Delete the Application and re-download from the Mac App Store. You should see something like this:

I am not sure if it is will still work but if you have an original disk you can try loading it. It should load to a different folder.

Back in January I upgraded to iMovie 9.0.2 and I have been working on a project ever since. Just to check on it, because my computer goes slow and I cant view how it will really play in the Full screen Theater, I export it from time to time to see how its coming out. And I just have started to notice the audio issue attatched to the 9.0.2 update.

Here are the various builds of iMovie. There is no 9.0.0, but 9.0.1 looks like the most recent stable build.

As for your projects, they should stay in the same directory even when you change application versions.
You can navigate to them manually by going to *yourhomefolder*/movies. You should see iMovie Events and iMovie Projects folders.
You can back them up if you're nervous about losing them.

Hi - I am using OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2. And have i Movie version 10.0.6.
I want to download iMovie 11. But whenever I go to App store, I am being shown the same version (10.0.6).
Can you please help me with how to download iMovie 11 from app store?

Fortunately, iMovie HD 06, 09, and 11 were sold on disk and therefore are still readily available. You can purchase them on Amazon as part of iLife.
This is the disadvantage of downloaded software, you are at the complete mercy of the author.
I have all of these versions of iMovie. My favorite is iMovie HD 06 which can be purchased as part of iLife 06. However, be advised, it will cost about twice the price of the current version. Yes, it's that good.
