How do make Photomatix tiff show in previous import photos?

Just started using Photomatix pro. Used autoimport to reimport into LR 3. Can only see Photomatix tiffs when switch to all photographs. This pulls up all 8000 plus photos rather than just the file folder in which I am working. Is there a way to get these tiffs to show in previous import photos?

In Collections, create a smart collection with criteria like Edit Date = Today.

create a simulation set under Item Attributes Mass Maintenance and then update the attribute MRP Planning method for this item to MRP/MPP Planning. Assign Simulation set to plan name and then rerun the plan. It should work.

Thank you for your advice. I followed your directions, but came up with the same results. However, I did discover that whenever I open up the iPhoto Library that is already existing on my MacBook a certain set of pictures shows up. But then when I open up the iPhoto Library from the Hard drive another set of pictures shows up. BUT not ALL of my pictures are showing up on the iPhoto Library from the hard drive. At least the last two years of pictures are not showing up?! Actually, it appears that all the pictures are there from when I started using iPhoto about 5 years ago up until around the time that I got my iMac desktop computer and started using that (2 years ago). I have noticed that more recent videos I have made are showing up in a folder on the hard drive, but will not appear when I open up iMovie?! Any ideas on how to access my pictures from the last 2 years off of the hard drive???

How do I navigate to a group of previously imported photos? I want to change an export setting and export them again but I can't seem to go back and find them.

The Previous Import collection up at the top left of Library in the Catalog section will show the set of photos most recently imported, but as soon as you’ve done another import that collection updates to the new set.
I always import my photos into a separate folder so I can go back and find them, later.

I believe the architecture behind Photos and the iCloud photo library is that you'll have a unified photo library across all your devices, and that you can manage your library from any device linked to iCloud. So the answer is, you cannot import images to iCloud and then delete them from your camera roll, doing so would delete them from the iCloud photo library.
In the iCloud Settings on your iPhone, you can set up iCloud to optimize storage for your iPhone. That is, you'll have smaller sized images stored on your device to view. If you wish to edit an image, the full-sized image will be downloaded from iCloud. I believe Favorites are stored as full-sized images at all times.
If this isn't the behavior you desire, you'll have to disable iCloud photos and use an alternative cloud storage setup such as Dropbox. I wouldn't link the Camera app to Dropbox, instead I'd use Image Capture to import the images from your phone to the Dropbox photos folder, then delete the images from the iPhone if that's your wish. It may be possible to do something similar with Flickr. They have a Mac app that will automatically upload new images from a source you select. So again you'd use Image Capture to import your photos from you iPhone to a folder you designate on your Mac. Once in the Flickr cloud, they're not linked to anything on your Mac. If you delete them from your Mac, they remain in Flickr.

I am i bit puzzled by the use of iphoto/imovie/itunes.
I have a Sony camera which generates jpg photos and mpg videos; besides, i have 3gp and mp4 videos from cell phones.
Firstly, i imported all of them to iphoto. I used a automator workflow to help importing from hotsynced Palm centro files, to discover the first problem with the 3gp files: they could not be iported by workflows.
Still, they could be seen in iphoto, but then i tried to make a slide show. My idea was to put the photos and videos of a certain event to be watched together, or at least to be able to watch the videos in a sequence, without having to click on each one.
I didnt get it in iphoto, so i switched to imovie. it was even worse, since it cannot import the mpgs and the 3gps (the jpg photos were ok). What could i do about that? is there any converter or other way?
then i tried the itunes, and it was the opposite: it imported and played in sequence the mpg videos, but not the photos. This is a workaround anyway, since the program expects to play movies, and makes my daughter a "star", but that`s ok, she is one to me.
i'll be thankful for hints on how to make the imovie compatible with the 3gp and mpgs, or finding some way to do this edition in iphoto or even with itunes.

QT Pro ($30) and MPEG Streamclip (free) complement each other. In many cases one can do things that the other cannot. For instance, MPEG Stramclip can handle/edit multiplexed formats while QT Pro cannot. QT Pro allows layering of data tracks while Streamclip does not. Streamclip merges file streams more easily than QT Pro but QT Pro allows the "Movie to MPEG-4" export to "passthrough" the video while Streamsclip does not. And so on and so forth...

How to Make MRBR to show the Customised Payment Block Indicator (MIRO) ?

Currently, from what I know of, MRBR only showing Log Payment Block as follows:
A     Automatically blocked due to existence of blocking reasons
S     Stochastically blocked
M     Manual payment block set in header - no blocking reasons
W     Automatically blocked due to entry via Web Invoice
However during the manual MIRO creation, I put in customised Payment Block G (Block due to XX) in the Payment Tab of MIRO. This G does not get shown up in MRBR.
How to make it possible in MRBR as I have configured a few customised Payment Block such as G (Block due to XX) and H (Block due to YY).
I would like MRBR to show up the exact Payment Block indicators as those in the MIRO.

I just found out that Payment Block Indicator shown in MIRO will appear in MRBR. The reason that it was not shown in MRBR because during MIRO creation, it was set BLANK and then user went to FB02 to change it with other customised Payment Block Value, thus when we run MRBR, it was showing blank under Payment Block column. Thus, we had to resort to LOG Payment Block which gave rise to this thread.
Having understand the importance of how FB02 changing payment block will affect MRBR, we have decided not to let user change the payment block in FB02.
SAP note: 394370 has explained everything:
"A document generated with MIRO was blocked for payment. You cancel the payment block from the vendor line item in the FI follow-up document. Transaction MRBR then displays the invoice document nevertheless. Why?
The invoice document itself cannot be changed by changes to the follow-up documents; this is not programmed. Transaction MRBR therefore continues to display the document as blocked. If this document is released from an MM point of view, the FI follow-up document remains released. Thus the damage caused is restricted to unnecessary work by the user. SAP recommends that you only use the release transactions for releasing invoices."

IPhoto Library showing old (previously deleted) photos?

I was looking to reset the faces in iPhoto and this required going to the iPhoto Library in the finder, while looking for the file to delete I came across previously deleted photos
Why is this?
If i deleted them I would expect them to be deleted and not lying around gathering space on my mac?
Is there a way to permanently delete photos?

1 - NEVER use the finder to make any change to the structure or content of the iPhoto library - tere are o user serviceable parts in it
2 - deleting from iphoto is simple - select a photo in an event and press the delete key then empty the iPhoto trash - do not reorganize events before emptying the iPhoto trash
3 - try Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - from the resulting first aid window repair permissions and if necessary rebuild your database

The problem is, that to select the photos you will have to do a lot of tapping.
An easy - quick and dirty - work-around would be to import again to your Mac - import to Image Capture - and then let Image Capture delete the imported photos from the iPhone, after the import.

For editing at the level of control - less than once second edits - you'll need to use a movie editor with a timeline. Imovie for Final Cut.

How to setup a folder on Desktop to import Photos

I have a Mac 10.6.5. and Lightroom 3.3.
Would somebody provide a step by step on how to import photos from my SLR to a folder on my desktop before I import them into Lightroom.
I use a card reader to import photos. I do not wish Lightroom to open first but to go straight to my desktop? I set up a folder on the desktop, but my camera does not recognize the folder
I do not have my Nikon's editing application installed on my computer.

I cannot speak for Nikon, but Canon cameras come with a suite of tools for this purpose. There is a download tool to download images from your capture card called Camera Window and there is another tool to browse the images called ZoomBrowser which is similar to Adobe Bridge, except it can only view JPG and RAW image data including EXIF information and tags. It can also browse to any directory on your local machine (and possibly your network) so it is easy when you specify CameraWindow where to download the images to--ZoomBrowser then launches after CameraWindow is closed and opens to the directory/directories where your images are stored. They are usually named with the convention of this: YYYY--MM--DD (year, month, date) and numbered sequentially according to the last image that was taken by the camera, regardless of whether that image has been erased from the capture card.
I highly recommend looking into getting such a tool from Nikon for your camera. I'm sure Nikon, being a large company, has such a tool for your specific DSLR.
P.S. The tool from Nikon is probably a free download. Make sure it works with 64-bit OS and make sure you have the serial number of your camera in case the site requests it for the download. You might have to register as a user with Nikon on their site before being able to download.

How do you get iMovie 11 to save imported photos at a higher resolution

When you import a picture into iMovie 11 from Aperture or iPhoto, iMovie creates an copy of the picture at a lower resolution and uses that picture in the video. It is often blurry and of worse quality than the original and looks bad in HD. Some of the copies (reveal in Finder) are only 200k.
You can fix this by dragging a higher quality photo from Finder on top of the same photo in iMovie and choose "replace". Thereafter iMovie looks to the photo you dragged in for the source of the image. I'm finding that the difference is often dramatic in terms of the finished video. It's hard to tell how iMovie is making its decisions because some of the pictures it creates are okay and can be close to 1mb in size. There's no indication of what it's going to do with a photo or why and no apparent way to configure it.
Does anyone know how to get iMovie to take pictures from Aperture and iPhoto and not degrade them? In other words, to control the quality (e.g. image size, compression, whatever the heck it's doing) of imported photos?

I'm having a similiar problem and I'm sure it didn't happen with the previous version of iMovie. I'm importing images from Aperture and building both SD & HD slideshows (for iDVD & and a stand-alone MP4/MOV video) and adding the images & HD video to the DVD assets manually.
For me, the issue isn't the preview quality as revealed in the finder (I cleared the Aperture previews and reset them to unlimited so the file sizes are several MBs at full resolution) but iMovie seems to degrade the quality on both it's full-screen playback and any exported HD video.
I can't seem to find any setting in iMovie that explains the degradation so I'm assuming it's just poor downscaling but any help would be gratefully appreciated.
