How do pay for iTunes match

How wldo we pay for iTunes match do we pay with a credit card or can we have 25 dollars on are iTunes account for them to take out???

Thanks Diesel.  I did follow your suggestion but did it slightly different.  I opened the dated iTunes version on desktop.  Updated so I would have access to iMatch.  New iTunes version displayed with all my muisic there along with iMatch selection on right side of screen..  Entered my new Apple ID and PW when queried. Subscribed.  All my music uploaded to iCloud without a hitch.  Have now downloaded to new 4S iPhone.
Folks out there you should probably know that I have never downloaded music using the old iTunes version.  It's all my CD music.  Maybe if I had purchased music from iTunes that may not have been transferred to new Apple ID/iCloud.
As a former ten year BB user...I'm liking this Apple stuff!  No telling what gyrations I would have had to go through on the BB in a similar situation.

  • I cannot remove songs from iCloud - how can I do it without paying for iTune match subscription?

I cannot remove songs from iCloud - how can I do it without paying for iTune match subscription? Different answers in this forum make it iTune match enabled. But enabling iTune match cost me $24. Help please.

You are correct, you cannot delete songs from iTunes in the Cloud. This is where all of your purchases are permanently stored so if you want to re-download something you can. Sometimes purchases will no longer be available, if the merchant pulls them from the iTunes store, but for the most part, all of your past purchases will remain in iTunes in the Cloud.
This has absolutely nothing to do with iTunes Match.
What is the issue you are experiencing?

  • ITunes Radio ~ why buy another album ever and why pay for iTunes match

With the new Radio that is coming to us in the UK sometime, can someone tell me why i would ever again subscribe to Spotify etc or why I would ever buy another album in a shop or over iTunes, or why I would ever pay for iMatch at 25 quid a year for uploading my songs i already own...?? As i understand it, all i will have to put up with is a few ads, which I an easily live with if I am not buying say 10 albums per year any more and am able to listen to whatever i like when I like...?
It is either all too good to be true or I have misunderstood some part of the sales pitches.
It seems to me that I will never buy another album

First of all, are you going to have wifi or 4g whenever you wish to listen to music for the rest of your life? If no, then that's one reason you might want to buy music.
Secondly, Like above poster said, iTunes radio doesn't give you much freedom in picking what you want to listen to.
Thirdly, even if they eventually do let you do that, a la spotify, rdio, it'll probably cost you a lot more than what you're paying for iTunes match right now.
Finally, even spotify and rdio have their limitations in what and how you can listen to your music.

  • I pay for iTunes Match but I still hear ads

I pay for iTunes Match but when I listen to radio on my computer i still get ads.  I thought if you paid for Match you wouldn't get any ads.  How do i fix this?

    Hello fullme,
Thanks for the question. Is iTunes Match enabled on the computer that you are attempting to use iTunes Radio on? If not, let’s definitely configure it so:
iTunes 12 for Mac: Use iTunes Match to access all your music anytime, anywhere
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH19612
Turn on iTunes Match on other computers
Sign in to the iTunes Store using the same Apple ID that you used to set up iTunes Match on the first computer (if you haven’t done so already).
In iTunes, choose Store > Turn On iTunes Match.
    Click Add this Computer.
    Cheers,
    Matt M.

If they just delete iTunes, the music files should still be there. I suggest making a backup of them though. Locate your iTunes folder (The one that contains your library file) and just copy the whole thing to your Documents folder or wherever you like (Just not in the same directory of the original folder otherwise the computer will get confused and could confuse your iTunes library). Then you will have a backup of all your music, plus if you purchased it from iTunes, you will still have it linked to your Apple ID so you can re-download them to any computer with iTunes on it when you feel like it.

  • HT201209 Can I use a itunes gift card to pay for itunes match?

    Hello,

Yes, as long as you have a credit card on file. See "To subscribe to iTunes Match" in this support article:

If I pay for itunes match do I have to pay for more icloud storage as well?

iTunes Match, however, does not count against your iCloud storage, the free 5GB or any paid addition. They're completely separate.

  • HT4915 Why do I have to pay for iTunes Match subscription to delete songs I've previously purchased from iCloud?

From the support article, it seems that I have to pay for an iTunes Match subscription in order to permanently delete songs from iCloud.  Is there a way to delete songs from iCloud without having iTunes Match?

You don't have to sign up to iTunes Match to play your iTunes music purchases through the iPad's Music app (if you've synced or downloaded them to the app).  iTunes Match allows you to store your own music collection (e.g. copied from CDs, bought from other sites) in the cloud as well as the music that you've purchased from iTunes
    From http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/ :
With iTunes in the Cloud, the music you buy from the iTunes Store automatically appears on all your devices.1 And for music you haven’t purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution. iTunes Match is built right into iTunes on your computer and the Music app on your iOS devices.2 It lets you store your entire collection in iCloud, even music you’ve imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than iTunes. When it’s in iCloud, it’s available on all your devices. So you can enjoy all your music anywhere, anytime — on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV.

  • I pay for iTunes Match but still have ads in iTunes Radio on my PC.

I have enabled, and re-enabled iTunes Match on my PC.  Apple support told me I also have to have it enabled on ALL of my devices connected to my iTunes account (seems like a silly limitation) so I enabled Match on all of them, and still see a Gwen Stefani add for MasterCard all day, every day.  How do I stop the adds in my radio stream?  They will pop open the full player, even while I'm using the mini player, and show a full screen video ad...

    Hi,
No. Match only works with music in your computers iTunes library.
You will need to copy your music from the ipad to your computer. If you search the web, you will find apps that will allow you to do this.

  • I'm gonna upgrade to the iCloud 200gb option for my entire library including CDs, do I also have to subscribe and pay for iTunes match

    IiTunes Match

    Hi,
icloud storage and iTunes match are separate products.
What do you expect of your iCloud storage option? If it is your aim to have your music available to play on your iOS devices, you will need iTunes match. Icloud storage does not allow you to stream your music.

  • Lets convince Apple to change premium iTunes Radio rules for iTunes Match subscribers!

Is it a bug that iTunes Radio does not recognize that your iDevice is a premium iTunes Radio user unless you have iTunes Match turned on?
As far as I can tell Apple has this as a feature so that you are considered a free user for iTunes Radio on your iDevice unless you have iTunes Match turned on.
    Why is this?
I only want my favorite songs on my iDevice, not all of my songs on there. Apple should recognize this and allow us to use iTunes Radio without ads on our iDevices, even if iTunes Match is not turned on on our iDevices.
So, comment on this if you believe Apple should change their rules to meet this request so we can listen to iTunes Radio without ads for iTunes Match subscribers, even if we don't have iTunes Match turned on for our iDevice(s). That way Apple can see their users care about this and want this to be a feature. We are paying for this, so having this feature would be helpful, especially for those of us who have iTunes Match turned off on iDevices because we don't have enough space on our iDevices to hold all of our songs.
I might stop paying for iTunes Match if I can't even use the service for what I'm paying Apple for.
If Apple employees read this, could you please pass on this request to higher management?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
It is not a bug! It is the method that Apple decided use to prove iTunes Radio.
As this is a user to user forum, it is unlikely that Apple will acknowledge our comments. I suggest that you provide feedback to Apple http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html.

  • Use itunes gift card for itunes match

Can I Use itunes gift card for itunes match

Yes you can use gift cards to pay for iTunes Match, but you do need a credit card on file. It will use the gift card money first, then your credit card for the remaining amount (if there is any).

  • On iTunes 11, how can I access home sharing if the music is from a CD? Is there any way I can download these songs if (A) I no longer have the CD, or (B) I do not want to pay $25 a year for iTunes Match?

On iTunes 11, how can I access home sharing if the music is from a CD on a different computer using Home Sharing? Is there any way I can download these songs if (A) I no longer have the CD, or (B) I do not want to pay $25 a year for iTunes Match?

Yes, you can copy songs that you ripped from a CD to your Home Sharing computer.
Turn on Home Sharing first on both computers.  To do that, go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing.  Enter your Apple ID and password.
Now go to your computer that you want to copy the songs to and connect to your Home Share.  You can do that by clicking on the popover button located at the left top corner right below the play control buttons.  Click on it and scroll to the bottom until you see your Home Share and select it.
Go to Music in your Home Share.  Select the songs that you want to copy in your Home Share and click Import at the bottom right corner.

  • For iTunes Match, how come some songs "match" on an album and other songs on the same album "upload" without matching?

For iTunes Match, how come some songs "match" on an album and other songs on the same album "upload" without matching?  All songs are available on iTunes.  I don't get it!  Any way to manually match songs that iTunes apparently can't match?  I have hundreds in this unmatched state.

Shazam has NO problem determining what these songs are. Maybe Apple needs to consider licensing their technology as it seems MUCH more accurate than what they are doing.
You aren't comparing like with like.
The main task that Shazam has is to identify the name or a track and the artist. I believe that it suggests the album as well, but if it gets that wrong then it doesn't really matter too much.
With iTunes Match, getting the album (i.e. identifying which version it is) is much more important. If it gets that wrong then it breaks up the flow of an album. This makes the task that match has very much harder.
In fact, there is a strong argument to say that currently the problem iTunes has is that it is matching too many songs, resulting in matches from different albums.
I'm sure that match is not struggling to identify whether it has a song or not, but whether it has the correct version of a song. When you introduce different masterings into the process then, depending on the thresholds set, it is probably correct in concluding that it hasn't got a particular version, even if you think it has.
The solution would appear to me to be a tweaking of the matching thresholds along with the ability to force an upload, but we just don't know what restrictions they have (remember that if Shazam gets it wrong the it doesn't present you with a copy of a new track that you didn't have previously). It is almost certainly not just a case of improving their technology.
