How Do the New Cloud Chats Sync History?

Hi,
I was wondering how the new cloud chats sync your chat history. I usually use a desktop computer for skype. Back on November 27th, I created a new cloud chat for my friends and I. Well, I haven't turned my laptop on for awhile, so it has been off even before I created the new chat. Today I decided to turn it on, and when I logged into skype, I did not receive the chat history for the new chat from the very beginning. Instead, I only received the history from yesterday up to today.
I thought that the messages were supposed to sync properly across all devices, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I export chat logs every month, so if I were to start using my laptop for skype and then log on to my desktop to download messages for exporting, will I lose the messages that I've already read on my laptop? Can anyone explain how this whole system works?

History continues to work like it always has with the exception that Cloud-enabled accounts/chats have around 30 days of their history cached in the Cloud. All history is still stored locally on a per device basis. Besides the Cloud syncing there is always the possibility that some of the history from an adjacent device can sync to your current device however I would not count on that being consistent. In the past only current P2P history was cached ( 12+ hours or so). This may still be a drawback when using P2P created chats vs. the newer cloud-enabled chats that are created.
The main.db located on the device contains your history. If at any time you replace it, the previous history will be lost as it will only be contained in the old main.db file. Skype provides no software to combine the history in old/new or multiple main.db files. If you want to do that you can attempt to get that done using 3rd party software (like Skyperious). I would suggest you make backups of any main.db files that you choose to experiment with.

I will address your second question.
First, make sure your iPhone and iPad have absolutely identical Apple IDs. If they do, use that Apple ID in Settings > iCloud on your iPhone to select the "Notes" option. Lo and behold, all your iCloud notes should appear on your iPhone.

Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me. Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

How can the new MobileMe cloud calendars be published locally?

I tried upgrading to the new cloud-based MobileMe calendars twice before the forced upgrade date. Both times I was disappointed (as I was this time), because floating timezone events had their times shifted as though I worked for Apple (i.e. to Pacific Time). This is a bug which will just waste my time.
This is a question about something more pressing.
In the past I could publish my iCal calendars locally so that I could put them on a page accessible only to people inside the place I work.
On one of the previous upgrades, I checked that publishing locally still worked. The solution was not obvious, but it it did work: I could change the location of the calendar. Here is the solution in full:

Now when I try to use this solution, I see that the change location menu item seems to be permanently grayed out for calendars under my mobileme account. Does anyone have a new solution?
Here are some things I looked into without finding a solution:
Using symlinks to pretend the calendars were on my web server at work. The new calendars appear to be in one huge cache.
Looking in AppleScript to see if I could periodically export the .ics files over to the webserver. The dictionary for iCal is far too limited for this.
I could manually export .ics files as needed, but this is both painful and open for error---I really need an automatic solution which does not rely on having everyone at work pay for MobileMe.

OK...after better keyword choices I did find that the 'change location' solution does work, but only if the calendar is first shared with the world, and then has its location changed:

FWIW, I did try sharing privately to just myself, so that I could then subscribe to the calendar on the serving machine and push it out as a .ics file...but I cannot share a calendar with myself. Boooo.

I am guessing you want to sync photos from your iPhone 5S to a Laptop i.e. a Windows Laptop.
Firstly when you insert your iPhone into your computer, go to:
1.     Computer
2.     Wait for the Laptop to recognize the iPhone
3.     Right Click on your iPhone Named: [NAME iPhone] or something simular
4.     Click import pictures and videos
5.     Click import settings
6.     Click Folder Name
This folder name is how the images will be arranged, either:
a) Date imported and Tag
b) Date Taken and Tag
c) Tag and Date imported
d) Tag and Date taken
e) Tag and Data Taken Range
f) Tag
I use Date Taken and Tag as this allows me to see in my pictures library a date and the images taken that date, i.e. all the images taken on the 25/12/2013, if you use date imported, you just get all your images stored in one folder and cannot quickly find images on a date.
In this setting you can also change the folder to where the images/videos will be saved, the name of the images as well as options such as delete images from the device once imported.

Will the new iCloud feature sync Aperture libraries between different computers?

If there was a Cloud section in the forums i would post this there but there isn't so here it is. Syncing my Aperture libraries between my laptop and imac is a big problem for me right now. Does anyone know if the new Cloud air synching feature coming this fall will sync photos between aperture libraries on multiple computers?

Copy all the content on your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes. Then go ahead and sync the iPod with your new library.

A new laptop for christmas...I thought by downloading itunes to it when I plugged in the ipod it would just download the music to het itunes library as they are on the same apple id. does not seem to be the case....is there an easy way or not? It is a compaq CQ58 and has all the itunes up to date.

Connect the new iPod to the computer she used to sync with the old iPod. The restore from backup. The apps and music have to be in the iTunes library to be restored to the iPod.
