Their wifi network should show in Settings > Wi-Fi, and you should then be able to just tap on the wifi network name and connect to it - if it's a password protected network you will need to type in the password.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Press and hold the power and home buttons until the device shuts down. After a short while the apple will appear and the device will boot up. Things should work then.

Ok so I have been battling with the same issue for a while now and have finally managed to crack it.
I have a Huawei 3G router that has been working for my PC;s and iPhone for a few years now. I then bought an iPad3 (3G and Wifi) and could just not connect it to the wifi network.
Fortunately I have a spare Linksys router (WRT320N) which has a setting to change the Wireless band from 2.4GHz to 5Ghz with 20/40MHz pipe. After changing this no problem iPad could connect.
So now I have 2 wireless networks running with internet connectivity only on the 3G so I plugged a lan cable from the 3G router into the internet port on the Linksys, set the Linksys up with a static internet connection and now I can access the internet via this method on the iPad.
Funny thing is, my iPhone cannot connect to the Linksys my laptop can however. Anyway so now I connect the iPad via the Linksys router and the iPhone via the 3G router.
I think Apple have pretty much messed up with the wireless bands on their products.......it would appear that they don't understand ? If they did they would make it pretty clear and from my efforts to try and sort this out i see there are many people out there, like me, who are laymen and there is no where that this is explained properly.
Most of the installed base of wireless routers I would think are on the 2.5GHz band, I say this beacause there are virtually NO wifi networks out there that I can connect to.
This is a huge frustration and a pretty poor reflection on Apple. So much for MOBILITY!!!!!

How to retain connection pool resource while exporting the application war

hello,
lately i have figured out how to use connection pooling. now i have another issue.
i have to export the application war file to a remote server for deployment. i cant configure the server.xml file there due to restrictions. Now is there any way that i can retain the connection pooling with all JNDI resources while exporting the war file. what all things would i have to do. i am using tomcat 4.1 and the remote server too have the same appliaction server running.
is this possible?

nvseenuNo, the problem is that you shouldn't be modifying the server.xml
The proper, portable way to do it is to create a context.xml file and put it in the META-INF directory of your WAR file. This contains your Resource definition and JDBC connection parameters. Everything's portable that way.
I know this works on Tomcat 5.x.
It can also work with Tomcat 4.1.x, but the way I've done it is to put the context.xml into a file whose name matches my WAR file (e.g, foo.war and foo.xml), placing both in the /webapps directory. Tomcat 4.1.x picks it up that way.
It would be worth an experiment to see if Tomcat 4.1.x picks up the context from /META-INF, because that way your WAR file is 100% portable.
This is precisely the reason why I advise people not to edit the server.xml. You don't always have the option to do so.

apple always has this problem i come accross this once in a while too. its usually fixed by restarting (hold the top button and the home button until it turns off and it shows the apple logo)

Palm Pre crashes after connecting to Wifi while charging via USB

Hi there,
I've had an issue with my Pre since I purchased it and my coworker indicated that he did not have the same issue. While connected to USB to charge, if I enable WiFi on my Pre, the phone will eventually crash and automatically reboot. It mostly seems to happen after the screen goes dark after inactivity, but it has happened while browsing the internet as well. If I disconnect the USB cable, the phone runs on WiFi like a champ. I've tried running in airplane mode and then enabling wifi. I've also ran the WebOS Doctor to reset back to factory defaults. It seems like it might be a factory defect, but I'm not positive.
Suggestions?

Sounds very strange and it's not supposed to do that. I wonder if it would crash if it was charging on a Touchstone or AC adaptor. The other recommendations I can make is to restart the device and make sure you are on the latest version of webOS (currently 1.4.1.1 and you can check this in the Device Info app).
If the device is still under warranty you can always contact Palm and they will explain to you the replacement options.

Bad Connection via Wifi while running on battery

I've been quite happy as after a update of the Airport-Chipset my WIFI network has not to bee selected manually every time after coming back from standby - but I therefore got another problem - when using my WIFI on battery, I do have failed connections (TCP-Sessions) - I also assume packet loss or hard resets of the WIFI connection... as soon as I plug in the power supply, everything's like happy drugs and sunshine...
Anyone sharing my experiences?

Macbook Pro won't connect to wifi while all other macbooks in house will.

I have a MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 and we got wifi at the house this afternoon. It will not connect, if I open network diagnostics the top four lights are green, internet and server are red. There are two other macbooks in the house(at least one also running 10.6.8) and two ipads, all of which connect with no problem. The macbbok in question connects fine at coffee shops and, up until a week ago, fine with the wifi at my last apartment.
We are using Charter and the router is a Motorola SBG941.

Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.
