How do unistall programs from my macbook pro?

i just cant seem to find out how to unistall and remove programs from my macbook pro. any suggestions?

It depends upon how the application got there in the first place. Many applications can be uninstalled by simply dragging them from the Applications folder into the trash. (You may have to authenticate.).  Some applications come with their own uninstaller, usually in the Applications folder or in a folder in the Applications folder dedicated to the application in question.
If you have a dock icon left over, you can just drag it off of the dock.

  • How do I uninstall programs from my MacBook Pro?

I am new to Mac and don't fully understand how to uninstall a program from my Macbook Pro. I've been having some problems with the Sims 3 (Probably some custom content that was bad) and I want to completely uninstall The Sims 3 from my laptop. How do I do this? I have heard that some people say to just delete the folder from my Applications, but being that I come from PC that doesn't seem like it gets rid of everything to me. Anything would be helpful. Thanks.

    Sarah
    Here are the steps:
Manually Uninstalling The Sims 3 from a Mac
Delete the /Applications/The Sims 3 folder (or any for a Stuff of Expansion pack).
Delete the /Users/"User"/Library/Preferences/The Sims 3 Preferences folder.
    Delete the /Users/"User"/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder.
Note: This file can be saved as a backup to retain save games, simply rename it.

how do i delete programs from my MacBook Pro?

Most apps may be simply deleted to the trash; all have a small file in ~/library/preferences associated to it, e.g. company.com.name-of-app.plist, may or may not be deleted. Some apps have their uninstaller, if their creator is scrupulous (some are not), if they spread files all over the system.
There are apps targeted at deleting other apps, I have been using AppZapper, but there are some other free solutions, see other comments. Do NOT delete Apple apps, they belong to the system, even if installed later.

I don't quite understand what you are saying? If i recieve and read an iMessage on the iPhone and then switch on my Mac, I don't get a notification about a new message, but that iMessage appears on the conversation.

  • How can I print from my MacBook Pro to Canon MP560 using rear tray?  I can't find that "option" in the print selection possibilities.

How can I print from my MacBook Pro to Canon MP560 using rear tray?  I can't find that "option" in the print selection possibilities.

    Sure can.
With a document open in Pages, select to print so that you can see the print dialog as shown below.
Note that to see this view, you may need to press the Show Details button in the bottom left corner. In the image above, since I have the expanded view displayed, this button changes to Hide Details
So with the view shown, first change the Presets menu to Default Settings. Then click the Layout drop menu and select Quality & Media. Make the changes you want and then click on the Presets menu and select Save Current Settings as Preset...
At the next window, give the Preset a name and select the Only this Printer radio button and then click OK to save it. That's it.
As for the Preset that you already have, if you no longer want this preset then you can delete it via the Show Presets menu pane that you've used already.

Check out the article below to setup the syncing of your bookmarks to your iPhone. You could also use iCloud to sync those for you automatically.

how to transfer CS6 from old macbook pro to new one?
many thanks - is it something to do with deactivation?
How long does it take for the whole process?

do not transfer.  install all adobe products (including cs6) using their installer.
the whole process depends on a number of factors, but generally takes more than 10 minutes and less than 2 hours.  the biggest factor is your download speed if you need to download the installation file(s).

    Suite:  CC | CS6 | CS5.5 | CS5 | CS4 | CS3

  • How to completely uninstall a downloaded program from my macbook pro

I am trying to uninstall a program that I downloaded from the internet and do not use anymore. However the drag and drop into the trash bin does not do it because it is still in my applications folder. How do I completely uninstall it from my macbook pro?

Typically there are a couple of ways.
    1. What you did followed by emptying the trash, and
    2. Use the uninstaller that may have been bundled in the package.
If available, you should run the uninstaller provided by the application.

  • HOW CAN I AIRPLAY FROM MY MACBOOK PRO

HOW CAN I AIRPLAY FROM MY MACBOOK PRO

The graphics chipset in pre-2011 Macs will not support the AirPlay feature. I guess Apple could have withheld the feature for everyone, or provided free graphic upgrades for all older Macs. Neither choice makes much sense. It's a shame, but the Mac and iOS products have a lot more going for them than this one feature.
AirParrot is said to work for some machines. I tried it on my 2008 iMac, and it left a lot to be desired

  • How to erase Genio program from my MacBook Pro?

We unfortunatley installed Genio on our MacBook Pro laptop.  I have tried to remove it from our Applications, but have not been successful.  I have googled this too for help with no luck.
Please let me know if you have been successful doing this.
    Thanks!

Do not run the uninstaller! Please be sure to take note of the comments regarding the uninstaller in the removal guide - specifically, the fact that some Genieo uninstallers have been observed to actually install components of Genieo that were not already present.
It's difficult to give you accurate advice, as it's hard to know exactly what you have done. You say you didn't open it, for example, yet you have components that could only have gotten there if you opened the installer. So, all I can provide is a couple general tips.
First, be sure you are following the instructions for locating files carefully. The Go to Folder technique is by far the easiest and most accurate, but you MUST be sure you are using the correct, full paths described in the guide.
Second, in some cases, depending on whether you approved changing your homepage during installation, you may not have all components installed. As the instructions say. Follow the instructions to the letter, from beginning to end, even if you don't find most of the files described. When you are done, if the symptoms of Genieo "infection" are gone and if you followed the instructions properly, you should be fine.
