How to raise create role request in OIM 11gR2?

How can I let a user to raise a create role request in OIM 11gR2?
If I assigned the Role Viewer or Role Authorizer admin role to the user, the create button for role is disabled.
If I assign the user as Role Administrator, the role will be directly created without raising any request.
If I assign the user as SPML Admin, the create button is enabled, but after filling the form and clicking the "save" button, an exception will be thrown saying "IAM-3054100 : The logged-in user AA10127 does not have createRole permission on Role entity."

Do you mean you are trying to create a Oracle9iAS Portal group, you may want to look at the PL/SQL API Reference within the Portal Development Kit on OTN.

If you mean you want to create a database role, not a Portal Group, through a procedure/script? Then, this is just standard database procedures and not specific to portal. We would have no portal APIs for that. You would need to take a look at the DBMS_SQL package that comes with the database and you can also get more information from the Oracle Server (RDBMS) team.

Reporting Enhancement - RSR00001 - BW: Enhancements for global variables in reporting

RSR00001- With this enhancement to global variables in reporting you have the option of determining your default values for variables. You can use this enhancement for variables, for which 'Processing by Customer-Exit' has been selected in the variable maintenance. This is valid for all variable types (characteristic value, node, hierarchy, formula and text variables). You use the Exit EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 for this.
The Enhancement component (RSR00001) must be assigned to a Project Created using the Transaction CMOD. On activating the Project, the Exit would become active and in turn the logic written inside the Exit.
To ensure that the data warehousing soultion reflects your company's structure and business needs it is critical that you establish who is authorized to access the data.With SAP BW, Authorizations can be defined and maintained by object and can also be applied to hierarchies and these authorizations can be inserted into roles that are used to determine what type of content is available to specific users or user groups.

Create folder from role maintenance

Hi,
How can I create a folder with the name of my choice from role maintenance? I see the Role Menu from the Menu tab, but I don't see the paper icon to create a folder.

I think I don't have authorizations. I only see the + sign that says 'Authorization default' and then the vanilla folder 'Role menu'.
I just want to create a folder to put queries to the browser for the users to get to instead going through the RRMX.
Is there another way to do this?

How to create table maintenance generator?

when i am creating table maintenance generator , it asks for function group
i give 0MB8 , it says u r going to change function group which does not belongs to u,
then i created a function group yfg9 and given , it then says yfg9 cannot be processed.

Table Maintenance generator is used to maintain data in table , instead of giving access to se11 , we create a tcode for this table maintenance generator and we will give this tcode to end-user to maintain data
To generate table Maintenance generator :
click on UTILITIES in menu bar
-> table maintenance generator
-> enter Authorization Group as : &NC&
-> Enter Function Group : name of your table ( so it will create a function group , to check this function group go to tcode se80 : then select function and enter your Table name )
-> Then click on find screen numbers in Application tool bar.
-> Then click on create button in Application tool bar
if it is created successfully , then you will get a status message like table maintained generator is created successfully.

How to create Roles in UME (ABAP+JAVA stack)

I have created roles earlier on JAVA stack alone. However, this time I am working on JAVA+ABAP stack. When I am trying to create role in UME, I am getting only two tabs:
General Information
Assigned Groups
I am not getting Assinged Actions tab here.How do I assing actions ?
Can any one please help me in creating roles in ABAP+JAVA stack.

HI Faisal,
When ABAP is the UME, you can only edit users / groups that are J2EE only. Any group that is defined in ABAP is read-only for the Java Server to prevent conflicts (there is no synchronization) and has to be changed in ABAP.

So, if the Java group was created in ABAP, the ABAP user has to have the ABAP role assigned to him, so that he is in the group on the Java server. make sense? The graphic in the link above really explains it well I think.
If you a new / custom Java group (not in ABAP) then you should be able to assign users to it from the Java server.

How to create Role in Workflow

In Oracle documentation setting global workflow preferences, the Workflow Administrator should be set to A responsibility, not to A user.
My questions are:
1. How can I create A responsibility?
Is it using A PL/SQL API?Or using insert statement?
2. How can I set The responsibility for an administrator and for a non administrator?
I mean what previlege the we have to grant to an administrator responsibility and previlege for non administrator?
3. What are The differences between a Role and a responsibility?
4. In The workflow requisition demo, There are some Roles (Administrator, Manager, Worker, and Other) What are the differences between them?
5. Can I create A new Role? How?
How to set The link access previlege in Workflow Home Page?
In example I create a new Role : myAdminRole which have access to all links in workflow home page.
And I create my user Role which only has access to five stop links in the left side of Workflow Home Page.
6. How can I grant my new Role?
i.e: I create five new user: User1, User2, User3, User4, and User5.
How can I grant my admin Role to User1 and User2
How can I grant my user Role to User3, User4, User5.

Hi,
1 - You need to define responsibilities through the System Administrator responsibility in eBusiness Suite. There probably is an API to do it, but the best way is through the GUI.
2 - You need to set the global administrator role to a responsibility you have chosen (e.g. Workflow Administrator). Any users who have been given this responsibility will be able to administer Workflows; those without it cannot.
3 - Responsibility is an eBusiness Suite term. Role is a Workflow term. As standard, eBusiness Suite responsibilities are mapped to Workflow roles, but you can create additional Workflow roles that do not map to eBS responsibilities.
4 - The different roles have differnet approval limits and hierarchies which the demo workflow references.
5 - You can create a new role either by creating a new eBS responsibility, or by calling the standard API WF_DIRECTORY.CreateAdHocRole
6 - You grant Workflow roles to users either by passing the users into the call to create the adhoc role, or by calling WF_DIRECTORY.AddUsersToAdHocRole

when i enter into the portal after creating the user
i am getting the following messgae in the portal
"No portal roles are assigned for this user.If this problem persists, contact your system administrator."

In the User Administration section of your portal find your newly created user and below select "Assigned Roles" tab then press <Modify> button and look through available roles on portal then just simply add and save. But if you want to do it programmatically see below:

IUserAccount user = (IUserAccount) i.next();
Execute the same search for IRole (or IGroup if needed) get the unique id of them and use newRole(...) and addUserToRole(...) methods from IRoleFactory.
Of course you don't need search for this principals if you know uniqueness of them. Use appropriate factories to get'em all by this unique id.

Hello Kumar,
I guess by by dual stack you mean an ABAP+JAVA environment right?
Anyways, in a JAVA only schema, if you are using your user store as UME, you can create the roles in UME through the browser by logging in as J2EE_ADMIIN or a suer with equivalent authorizations.
on the other hand you can create J2ee roles in Visual administrator(VA). For that you need to login to VA and go to the service Security provider. There you will find the option to create roles. But please be advised that the actions (equivalent of authorizations in ABAP stack) should already have been defined by your programmers before you can go ahead with the task of creating roles.
One morething, each J2EE role can contain only one action.
Where as in UME roles you can group them together.

Given that you have a role, you can mention that role in "Performer" (Node Tab) of the Notification. If you want to fetch the role name value dynamically, then create an attribute with the type "Role" and assign that attribute in the Perfomer field.
