How do we manage songs on the iTouch? Is is really limited?

On my very old ipod I could see how many minutes were left in a song or book, I could stop the song and keep my ipod on hold, I could set it up to repeat one song over and over, or repeat the whole playlist. Is this even possible on the iTouch.

Go to http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_touch_2.1_UserGuide.pdf
See page 34 under "Additional controls".
You can also use Safari (with a WiFi connection) and there is a bookmark at the bottom of the bookmarks list for an iPod Touch User Guide formatted for easy use on your iPod.

Stated another way......songs recently added to my music folders in the iTunes libary are not updated in the media library automatically.  How do I save songs in the Automatically Add to iTunes folder?
Still another way......I'm trying to backup songs in my iTunes library by dragging them into a flash drive.  But I noticed that not all songs are included in the iTunes Media folder from which I am making my backup file.  Is there a better way to do a backup?  If not, how do I get the iTunes Media file updated to include all songs in my iTunes library?

how to set my song in the playlist to be my ringtone

you have to convert it to a ringtone first. searching google will give you many ways to do it. also, there are some ringtone apps with pros and cons to each one. you cannot just pick a song on your phone and make it a ringtone unfourtunately.

  • How do I sort songs in the iTunes store?  You used to be able to click on the column header to sort the column (ie Popularity)?

How do I sort songs in the iTunes store?  You used to be able to click on the column header to sort the column (ie Popularity)?

It seems this is a "backwards" upgrade from Apple in their iTunes 11 release....like you, I used to use that function in the iTunes store to sort through and decide which song version to purchase.   (For a large returned list of songs...see all...then sort by any of the headers, including Popularity...this functionality is now gone.)
The iPad always suffered from this...was never able to sort on those same column headers with an iPad.   It seems, this new iTunes release killed that functionality on the Mac as well.
Just one of the few things that went wrong with number 11!
    Better luck next time,

  • How to upload a song from the i phone to itunes match

how to upload a song from the i phone to itunes match

    Hi Chandrapp,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that you want to upload a song from your iPhone to iTunes Match. Local songs on your iPhone will not be uploaded to iCloud, you will need to transfer that song into your iTunes Library on your computer and upload it to the iCloud from there. The information can be found in the following article.
iTunes Store: Subscribing to iTunes Match
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4914
When you subscribe to iTunes Match from an iOS device, your local tracks will not be matched or uploaded to iCloud. You will need to sign in with your Apple ID from a computer in order to match and upload your local music library.
    Hope this helps,
    -Joe

  • How do I delete songs on my iTouch music library?

I have an ipod Nano and I recently upgraded to iTouch. Once I registered all of the songs in my music library copied on to my iTouch. I changed the sync to recently added and recently played as opposed to all. I tried to delete like I would with my iPod, but I was unable to do so. All of the songs are listed but they are greyed out in the iTouch library. How do I get them ungrey?

you can only do that by 'manually' managing your ipod. what i do is have a playlist that has all the songs i want on my ipod. add any new songs to that, then when i have new songs, set it to sync that playlist, THEN go back to manually managing the ipod, this allows me to sync somethings and not others.

  • HT2905 How to remove duplicate songs from the iPhone when the duplicates are not listed in the iTunes library on the computer.

How can I remove duplicate songs from the iPhone4. The duplicates are not listed in the computer iTunes library.

The simplest thing may be to back-up and then restore the iPhone. If you don't fancy that then remove all media that is currently synced to it, then double check and manually remove any media that remains on the device, before reselecting your sync options.
If you've been manually managing the device and your library doesn't contain copies of all your media then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • The songs on the itouch don't advance

The songs on my Itouch don't advance. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

On the left side of the now playing screen right below the scrubber bar is an arrowed racetrack icon. That is the repeat icon. Tap it until it is white for repeat off.

  • How? Down load text to the itouch from the computer

    Hello
On my old ipod when I connect it the computer it mounts on the desk top and I can copy text from my word processor to the ipod.
I have not been successful doing this on the itouch. The itouch does not mount on the desk top. How do you transfer or copy text from the computer?
    Thank You

Not true. I found that if I look under the Mail app, not at my inbox but further down there is a Notes section, and there are all of the notes I have on my PC at work! So I can put any text I want in a note (not using the Notes app that comes with the upgrade) and after syncing it will be there!
Are you syncing to Exchange (or something) using MobileMe? Is that Notes folder just a folder you have in your work email? Along those same lines, but without having you use MobileMe, you could create a Notes folder in any mail account and put your notes in there (via emails). My regular mail account doesn't have a "Notes" folder, so I have to guess that this is because of your own mail account and how you manage it.
I still don't think there is a true app that will sync notes (without using email). BUT it would be hugely useful, so if someone knows how to do it, that would be great

  • HT2729 How can I put songs into the album they came from but were split because of multiple artists on a tune?

I need help in finding out home to combine songs from the same CD into one Album. When putting CD into the iMac, it auto loads into iTunes. If the artist is singing duet and the songs show more than one artist, it gets separated in iTunes. I want to combine all tracks together like they are on the CD.

One way around this is to edit the album info for each song on that album and make the album artist 'various artists', or you can remove that duet artist and make all the artists the same.
Seems to be a glitch or change with how iTunes sees albums now. THey alphabetize them by artist and, as you've noticed, if the artists are different, it sees them as different albums.
I had many albums like this and spent a whole weekend editing the info to 'various' to clean it up.

  • When I copied my cd collection to my iTunes account, I use the view by CD option in the viewer. How can I get songs from the same album to show nder the same view, instead of making it a separate thing?

How can i fix this problem with songs from the same album, not being organized under the same  when they are from the same CD?

Thank you... just read up on iTunes Match.   That stinks, paying a yearly thing... but I understand everyone has to make a dollar.  I think I'm better off just picking the best songs out of my collection storing them on my computer or iPhone then selling my CD's to some used CD place.   If I ever really want to hear a song there are multiple options and if I want it... the .99 to 1.29 option is always there.
    Thank you for the information
