How do we rotate photos now in iOS 8?

Under iOS 7, it was pretty easy to rotate a photo if the camera misunderstood its orientation when the photo was taken. There was an arrow tool that rotated the image 90 degrees at a press when you tapped "Edit" on the image.
This seems to be gone under iOS 8; does anyone know if the functionality just moved somewhere else, or is it gone completely? My 5s often gets its orientation wrong, especialy when taking shots straight down at a tabletop and not being able to correct these is a major problem.

After Tapping on Edit text tap on the "Crop" icon next to the word Cancel.    Then either slide your finger on the rotator slider, or tap on the rotation icon on the left.

I don't think you can. You need to open them in Preview or some other photo editing application.

  • Diappearing photos replaced by an exclamation point within a triangle.  Prior to loading Lion I could put the image number in finder and locate the original file for that photo.  How do I restore photos now?

I had problems with photos disappearing and being replaced by an exclamation point within a triangle.  I can see the photo in the thumbnail summary but when you click on it, the screen goes black and the exclamation point within a triangle appears along with the info on the original image number (i.e., img_1120.jpg). Prior to loading Lion, I could go to Finder, enter the image number and locate the original file for that photo.  I could then restore it for editing, copying into Print Shop directly, etc.   That no longer works after installing Lion.   How do I restore photos now?  I have 100s of photos that I have been going back to the original files and restoring and I am frantic that I will no longer be able to get to the original files.  Please help!  Thanks

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • How to Delete Entire Photo Stream in iOS 6

Here's how to delete and reset the entire Photo Stream in iOS 6.
WARNING: This will delete all 1000 photos in your Stream so make sure you're ready to do this (by backing them up).
    Delete the Photo Stream
Note: You cannot have your device hooked up to a PC or Mac during this procedure.
In Settings, select "Photos & Camera" (in the left column on iPad).
(On the right in iPad) move the slider for "My Photo Stream" to Off.
It will ask you if you want to keep or delete your photos. Choose Delete.
If you're doing this on multiple devices, make sure to complete these three steps on each device before continuing.
You have successfully turned off and deleted the Photo Stream, but you're not done. Now you need to reset the Photos app so that it won't re-download the photos from iCloud if you choose to turn Photo Stream back on.
    Reset Photos App
Launch the multi-tasking App Tray. On most devices, press the home button twice.
Remove the Photos app from the App Tray, by holding down the Photos icon until the red X appears on the icon.
Press the red X. The icon will disappear from the App Tray.
You're done! Now, you may launch the Photos app from the home screen if you wish.
Turn Photo Stream Back On (Optional)
If you want to use the Photo Stream feature for future photos, you may turn the Photo Stream feature back on.
In Settings, select "Photos & Camera" (in the left column on iPad).
(On the right in iPad) move the slider for "My Photo Stream" to On.

I haven't done it in a while but you may want to connect the phone to your Mac and open Image Capture on the Mac. I don't remember that it allows deleting by folder but if not it still would be faster than doing it one by one on the phone. The delete icon is at the lower left (red circle with line through it).

  • How to fix disorganized photo albums after IOS 8.3 update

After I updated to IOS 8.3 my photo albums on my ipad are all disorganized AGAIN!!  This happens every time there is an update.

After updating to IOS 8.3 last night (4/9), my selected albums I want on my iPhone are there, but it added a bunch of others that shouldn't be. It seems to have created albums using photos from the selected albums I already had, so now I have more photos mostly duplicates & more albums. Those additional albums don't match the photos that are to be in them. Weird. Apple please fix this pronto!!

  • How do i manage photo storage in ios 8?

Now that Camera Roll has been removed from Photos, I can't tell which photos are physically on my device and which I'm getting via iCloud.  In the past I could manage my physical storage space by removing photos from my local device that I was happy to have access to only via Photostream. That is much more difficult now - I don't seem to have a specific option to "remove locally" vs "remove from Photostream".  I can only delete from all locations.  Plus, if I happen to be off-line, how can I be sure the photos I want to have access to all the time are available?  In the past, I could make sure those were on my physical storage even if they were part of Photostream.  I could also sync them to a folder on my computer and that does appear to still work, but in the face of moving to a more cloud-based solution, that seems clunky in the design Apple seems to be trying to achieve. So rather than rant about the poor decision decisions Apple seems to be making here and how they seem to be catering more to the crowd that wants to just pile up loads of rubbish without managing it, I'd like to focus on the specific questions around managing my physical storage and how to make sure the photos that I want uninterrupted access to are always available to me, even if I can't connect to iCloud.

True, but again, this is using multiple interfaces and comparing multiple lists to do what should be a simple job.  I can also connect the iPhone to my PC and inspect the DCIM folder to see which images are there.
I hope this is not the answer Apple intends.  If the only way I can manage my iPhone (or iPad) physical photo storage is to continue to use a PC or Mac to inspect the actual folders or sync specific folders in iTunes to ensure certain photos are available, then so be it, but it would be hard to say this is a convenient or elegant solution worthy of Apple.
I'm hoping someone from Apple reads this and can provide input as well - not that I'm not open to input from the larger community of course, but there is a lot of dissatisfaction out there in the public forums over some of these recent design decisions and I'm hoping it is because Apple has done a poor job of instructing users on how to use the tools properly rather than producing poor tools.

  • How can I upload photos from iPhoto (iOS) to iPhoto (Mac OS) without syncing the libraries?

I want to use my iPad when I travel, download photos from my camera to the iPad, sort out the keepers from the discards, edit a few, then upload to the Mac when I get home. I don't want to keep my entire iPhoto library on my iPad. Just use it for a temporary viewing/holding area while traveling.

  • How do I move photos from my Windows PC folder to my wife's ipad 2?

Previously I had saved the photos from her ipad to a regular folder on my PC (without itunes) before upgrading her ipad from IOS 4.5 to 7 (which required installing itunes on the PC).  I made a back-up of her ipad with itunes that seemed successful before upgrading the IOS.  When I went to upgrade the IOS, another back-up was made and IOS 7 was installed, but itunes encounted some problem restoring the last back-up.
    1.  Is there a way to restore the 1st back-up I made instead of restoring the one that seemed to have errors?
    2.  If 1 is not possible, then how can I move the photos from a regular folder on my PC to my wife's ipad?
The problem I am encountering doing this via itunes is that I have since connected my daugther's ipod to my PC which made a back-up of all her stuff.  When I connect my wife's ipad to the PC with itunes, it seems to want to automatically sync everything and starts copying all the apps on my daughter's ipod to my wife's ipad.  This is NOT what I want to do.  I simply want to copy the photos from the PC folder (which don't appear to be on itunes, unless I am missing something).
    Thx

  • I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  I was given the choice of small, medium or large the first time I took a picture.  Now I have no idea how to change it to medium.  Can anyone help?

I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  The first time I took a pic it asked if I wanted smalll,  medium or large and listed the pixels.  I chose small but am now finding that is too small.  Can anyone help me set it to medium now?  I can't find any setting for that.  I'm a newby to iPhones and have no idea what I'm doing.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

By "sending" do you mean sending email?
If so, what app are you using to take the photos on your iPhone 5? Or are the photos from a different source (saved to your Camera Roll from somewhere else, like a web page or Messages)?
My guess is that Mail gives you the option to send different file sizes when it detects you are trying to Mail a really large photo file. The size of photos on the iPhone 5 is really big and some email providers may stop your mail from being delivered if attachments are too large. Thus, Mail tries to help you by offering to resize the photo.
I suspect that if you are sending smaller files, Mail does not bother giving you options to save a smaller version. In fact, I have seen this behavior. So, if the photo is already "small enough", it gets sent as-is.
To my  knowledge, there is no global iOS setting for this. Some apps may have different rules, of course.

  • I have upgrade to IOS 8 and all Fotos are ereased and on my Computer is only the last Backup and there a no Photos now what can i do?

I have upgrade to IOS 8 and all Fotos are ereased on my Iphone and on my Computer is only the last Backup and there a no Photos now what can i do?

You really need to try this on a computer, not on the iPad.
Seeing how what is in the cloud is also on the iPad, if the content is not on the iPad, there is a good chance that the content is lost. But you can try logging into www.icloud.com in a web browser on a computer and log into your account and see if you can get into the Pages app. You may have to sign up for iCloud drive if you didn't do so already. Make SURE you that you read the blurb that will pop up in that window in iCloud for more information.
