How do we send photos by email in Photoshop Elements 13?
Hi Gordon,
It is not a good idea to post live email addresses in replies as this is a public forum and somebody might harvest the addresses for scamming.
For clarification, I will go through the preferences that you should have set up.
Go to Edit -> Preferences - Email
Click on the New button
Give it a Profile Name like MyGmail, select Gmail from the drop down list of service providers and then click on OK
Enter your Email address - this is the account to send the photos from not who you are sending them to. The address should be in the format [email protected]
Enter your name
Enter the password for the email account you gave in 4 above
Click on Validate - It should come back and say credentials validated successfully - if not check your settings.
Click on OK and close the preferences.
Now try sending a photo.

Here's something you can try with a copy of your current library.
1 - go to iPhoto's Events preference pane and set the auto split option to 1 day per even.
2 - go the the Events mode, select all Events.
3 - go to the Events menu and and select Autosplit Selected Events.
which will give you an event for each day.
4 - again select all events (although it might be better do to fewer at a time) and export them to your desired destination via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with the following settings:
The workflow above will produce a folder for each days photos with the date as the folder's title. -

They are still attachments, even though you see the embedded version (which can be turned off by rightclicking the embedded attachment and choosing 'View as Icon')

How do I send photos by email?
Until recently I used Adobe Elements 3 and sent Photomail and E mail attachments with no problems. Recently I installed Adobe Elements 8 and since then have had continual problems sending images via email. I've read all the material, watched the tutorials and followed the instructions related to the subject but the problem continues. I complete the prescribed steps and hit send (to recipeints with a copy to myself) and the messages dissapear but do not transmit. I have even reduced the size of my images and have sent as few as two images compared to the seven or eight I could successfully send with the Elements 3 program, I have used the address book and have also tried typing in the email addresses but nothing seems to work. Have others experienced this problem? I would appreciate any comments you may have to help me rectify this situation along with the specific steps required to successfully complete this task.

You may need to remove the email account from your iPhoto Preferences, and then readd it.

How can I get photos from iPhoto to Photoshop Elements?
I installed Photoshop Elements 10 on my new MacBook Pro because I want to do some additional editing. I have 800 pictures that I downloaded into iPhoto before I purchased PSE.
How can I open the pictures in PSE?
The instructions on the PSE website do not seem to refer to the version of iPhoto I have (the screens and menus are different.I used this advice and was able to open the some photos in iPhoto and edit in PSE. I would like to save them to another file, outside iPhoto. Is that possible?
Sure - save As istead of save - then the edited [photo will not be in iPhoto but will be where you put it

You can - use the open command and the media browser - look in the lower left hadn corner of the open windos under media ==> photos ==> iPhoto - but why use iPhoto at all if you do not want your photos in iPhoto - if you do the edits this way you will not have them in iPhoto
Perhaps I need to move the photos out of iPhoto and then open with PSE.
Again you can do that - select the photo in iPhoto and export (file menu ==> export) and work on the exported photos - again

Just now learning Mac, so I think I may still be thinking in PC.
It is not so much Mac vs PC but database photo management vs file management - the iPhoto database structure is infinantly more powerful that an file approach like you used on a PC

How do I send photos by email as file attachments, as opposed to images in the body of the email?
I know this has come up before but I have not come across a satisfactory answer. Someone suggested removing my signature. I did that. It didn't help. I have a batch of photos I want to send to my computer to print out. I do not want to print out the emails, just the images. I know I can copy and paste the images into a word doc, other application doc etc., but that seems gratuitously laborious. I started off emailing the photos from the photos app, and the first couple arrived as files which I can right click and save, open etc. so I know it's possible, but the rest were sent as images in the body of the email.
Can anyone suggest anything? I am fairly new to apple products, so please don't assume I know all the ins and outs of them!

The PlayMemories Home software is synced with the Microsoft Outlook Email server. Web mail servers such as Yahoo, Google, etc. cannot be used with the program. If you're using one of these, we suggest uploading the photos outside PMH. You can do so by opening the folder containing your files.
NOTE: My Pictures is set as the default folder for imported files.

How to send photos as email attachments???
This is a ridiculously easy and simple question but I'm a mac newbie and can't figure out how to send photos as email attachments, not embed them in the body of the email. Every time I go to send a picture or group of pictures from i-photo an email message opens....the pictures are embedded in the body of the email and that's how they appear to receipients. In a test, I've sent them to a PC...the message comes through just fine but the photos don't have separate attachments that I can click on and "save as." they come through as bitmap files. Any ideas? THANK YOU.
It will not ALWAYS fix the problem that this topic is about; I had my Mail preferences set to send as Plain Text and it did not fix the problem. Additionally, since there is NOT an option in Iphoto as you previously noted, it might be confusing to some people.
However, for those of you who have the same problem, there seems to be a solution that worked for me. I also had the problem that Mail was overriding my sizing preference when I selected them in Iphoto (share > email) and always sending them as small instead of medium as I preferred.
Since it seems that sometimes Mail does not deploy the plain text default so you need to kick start it to remember. This is how I did it....
- Select the photos you want and hit SHARE > EMAIL in Iphoto
- Now, in Mail click on the photo browser button
- Find another photo in Iphoto via the browser and drag and drop it into the email that you're composing
- You'll see a size option appear in the bottom right hand corner
- Playing around with the sizing option a few times kicked it into gear and it seems to be working better since then

As above. Click on the email which shows up. It will then display all the other available email ccounts and you simply select the one you want!

Hold the comand, shift keys and tap the '+' key will increase the font size in any app.
You can also set the font size in the Mail Preferences.
