How do you accept a friend request in the new Game Center?

I have a red "1" showing I have a request, how do I accept it? I have my list of friends, I scroll down and see the list of recommendations (which doesn't tell me they are playing my game), but I don't see where to accept the request sent to me.

I worked out why my computer was nolonger reading cd disks. The new update of i tunes did not load correctly on my computer. I took itunes off and then reloaded the new update of itunes. As soon as I did this my computer would read disks again and the software had the import cd section that was missing before. I also went into preferences and general and highlited import cd. Hope this may help others.

Can't get the new game center to accept any nickname

I want to try the new game center, but any nickname I give it, I get a message that the name is already in use. I've given it several very unique and creative tries, but it won't accept any of them. Anybody out there encountered this?

Same problem here. My ID is already created and used on the Apple site. Game Center even tells me that my e-mail address is alreay in use and to change it. Duh, of course my e-mail address is in use and Apple has a record of it. Game Center has a major flaw in it. Since it is part of OS4.0 theree is no way to get rid of it. I would not mind it so much if it worked correctly. From what I have ready, Apple support is no help at all on this issue. I hope the programmers are aware of this and will have a fix out in the near future.

After upgrading to Firefox 10.0.2 there is no way to proceed to a website with an invalid security certificate. How do you proceed to these websites in the new release? The fault page only has a button that says "Try again."

In trying to proceed to various websites (corporate such as dlnet.delta.com (expired certificate), government such as https://www.homeport.navy.mil/links/owa-navy-links/ ) with "invalid" security certificates, Firefox 10.0.2 does not have a button on the error page to continue on to the website. How can you do this using Firefox 10.0.2? I have not found any settings in Firefox preferences to enable this capability either.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Having major issues in trying to find out how to delete two ipods registered under my primary account and then re register so they have their own identity.

I do not understand what you mean by remove hardware from GameCenter. What is is Game center are games associated with the Apple ID used for Game Center (Settings>GameCenter).

HT1414 How do you restore an old backup? The new one with the stuff I didn't need was backed up and overwrote my old one.

Pages wasn't working so someone told me to delete it and redownload it. Of course, our school told us not to use Cloud since there wasn't much space and now I lost most of my notes. I think I backed it up before I deleted it though but when I reconnected by iPad, it rebacked up everything and I don't know how to restore from previous backups. Help please!

You may not have any previous backups if iTunes overwrote the only backup that you have.
Launch iTunes on your computer (do not connect the iPad yet) and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Check the box at the bottom that says - Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. You can also see if you have multiple backups for the iPad in that window. If you do - Click OK and quit iTunes. If you don't have another backup, just turn on auto sync again. There is nothing that that you can do if you don't have another backup.
Assuming that you did have another backup - connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name under devices and select - Restore from Backup. If you have multiple backups, you can select the one that you want from the drop down menu in the pop up window.

Has anyone figured out how to add music and sfx to the new music and sfx library. I like this feature but as it sets right now it is worthless unless I can figure out how to get my licensed music library into the correct folder.

How do you turn off Text Recognition in the new ExportPDF?

You used to be able to de-select it before exporting to a Word document. Now my documents are converting with a bunch of gibberish.

How do you go about uploading photos to the new iPod?

I've been wanting a portable hard drive for a while now, but a 60 Gig iPod will hold everything I have at the moment. I wanted to know if it was possible to delete the original images from your computer once you've loaded them onto the iPod, basically substituting it as a portable hard drive. What will happen if I load everything onto the iPod then delete everything that had been loaded and plug the iPod back in? Do you just select images or folders to be placed on the iPod? Help appreciated, thanks!

If you can use this as a portable photo hardrive, understand it's not ever a reliable backup so always be sure to have at least 1 other good backup of everything on your Ipod.

How do you connect 3 HDMI monitors to the new Mac Pro running Maverics. HDMI to thunderbolt adaptors only support 2 displays. The fine print in Apple docs HT 5918 indicate the Mac Pro will only support 2 HDMIs. Anyone found a workaround?

USB video adapters can severely limit graphics performance. Use ACTIVE HDMI adapters instead.

ATT email in updated form does not open on Firefox - how can I return to classic or make the new version compatible with Firefox?

Since I updated to the latest version of ATT email from the classic email version, I can't get Firefox to open the mail. And I can't find a link to go back to classic. I need to know if there is a change that I need to make in my Firefox settings to make it compatible or how to return to classic.

The change between Firefox 3.6.* and Firefox 4 is how location bar search works. In Firefox 3.6 it uses Google "Browse by name" search. With the browse by name search, it performs a Google search and if there is a clear match it will take you to the site, otherwise it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it just performs a Google search if you type something which is not recognised as a URL.
To get the Firefox 3.6 behaviour on Firefox 4 you need to change a hidden preference.

Apple has 'Back to my Mac' which could work well, however it is tied into iCloud & frankly makes it a real pain handling passwords to set it up.
I think the Messages application can allow you to request that someone can control the Mac via 'screen sharing' too, but I haven't tried across different OS X versions.
