From what I read, using a comma to separate the main number from the extension should work. It inserts a pause, with each additional comma increasing the length of the pause. So:
4155551234,,3710484
might be long enough for the automated system to pick up and reach the point where it'll accept the extension number. If not, add more commas.
Commas will also sync to your iPhone if you have one, and work as intended.

How do I add an extension to a phone number in Contacts 7.1?

Now that the perfectly servicable Address Book has been replaced by overly complicated Contacts 7.1 in OS 10.8.3, I cannot add an extention to a telephone number. A phone number with an extention ends up looking like "4155551234ext3710484". Creating a new field named "ext" doesn't help, as any number entered into this field that is longer than 3 digits is autoformated to a phone number. Some of my contacts now have 6 digit extensions!

I have deleted this contact from my regular contact information; however when I text and begin to text a contact beginning with the 1st letter of the name I had deleted, it brings up the old, deleted contact information in my texting history only.

I think you mean "switch" instead of "such" - you're trying to have the phone number show up as an iPhone in contacts instead of a mobile phone.
If so, open the contact, click "Edit" in the upper right, click "mobile" and change it to "iPhone".

Many of the numbers that I call since switching jobs have extensions. Can they be added to the phone number listing as shown when making a call? Currently, I have been adding the 'notes' field to the contact lists when someone or a particular department needs to be accessed. You should be able to add the extension to your contact by tapping Edit, then adding a pause at the end of the number (tap the +*# key on the keyboard to get the pause button), then add the extension and tap Done.

Ever since I have had this iPhone on pay as you go with Vodafone in September, I have not had an option to use my phone number, it doesn't bother me as such but my friends get annoyed as one hour I'd reply on text as their contact and the next it will use iMessage when I have Internet as my apple Id email address. There is no option, just emails. I signed out of apple Id and signed back in, it asked me to use either my number of email so I deselected my email but the phone number was greyed out, it hasn't activated again so I don't think it has worked.

I got rid of my iPhone. I now have a Samsung Galaxy s4. All of my friends and family that had texted me using iMessgae before are now unable to text me because every time they try, it sends an iMessage. How do you add a task for disconnected hardware?

I'm have a Labview 2009 project that contains an existing data acquisition task that includes several analog inputs from a cDAQ1 device. I'm working on the Labview software, but don't currently have the hardware available. I need to add an addition channel to this task, but without having the physical hardware connected.
When I attempt to do this in Labview 2009, using DAQ Assistant, the analog channel that I want to add is not displayed as an option to select. The missing hardware shows (cDAQ1), up in the existing task, and is listed in MAX with a red x next to it because its not connected. I have a separate task that used simulated channels, so I'm not asking about simulated hardware.
I attempted to export the projects DAQ configuration file, edit it, then import it back into the project, but I get an error dialog box when I attempt to do this, Error -201064 occurred at _DAQmxImportConfig.vi", Configuration file is missing the required header fields". I didn't remove any header fields, but I've had problems with DAQ Import before because of the different file formats for exported files, (see forums under Error -201064). Unfortunately, the Labview Projects differ from MAX in that it only provides a "text, .txt" export format and that's a problem for importing.
Nevermind. I figure out if I manually select the ".ini" file time under Export, (.txt is the default), THEN Export will write to a different format and as long as I edit it correctly, I can then import it back into the project.

Go to Settings > Phone > My Number and add your number there if it's not already.
Then go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID and enter your data there.
That should work.

How do you add the language of the dictionary in pages for the whole document. When I add the british language it does not stay ON for the whole document. It goes back to "none"???? I am using pages 09 version 4.1 (923).
