The apps I want to write a workflow for are not in the default library list. How do I add them? Specifically, I'm talking about the xAct app. I intend to write a workflow to automate decoding FLAC compressed audio files and adding them to the iTunes library. I tried simply dragging the app into the library window but that did nothing.

If the application has a GUI (Graphical User Interface), Apple has included methods for scripting that. Information about activating the UI Scripting, a UI Element Inspector (for figuring out what to call things), and some examples are located at http://www.apple.com/applescript/uiscripting/01.html .

I had the exact same issue .. so frustrating! Here is the solution:
To add the site to the trusted sites list:
1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
2. Select the Security panel.
3. At the right of Warn me when sites try to install add-ons, click Exceptions....
4. In the Allowed Sites - Add-ons Installation dialog, the list of permitted sites is displayed. The current site URL is inserted into the text field.
5. To allow the site, click Allow. Then, click Close.

You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
CTRL+B to turn on the menu bar (also opens temporarily with ALT).
CTRL+S to turn on the sidebar (your device should be listed here as before).
CTRL+/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour.
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may allow iTunes to start up quicker).
The first one will give you access to File > Add Folder to Library.

How do you move and divide the Library in Aperture 3.5?

How do you move Aperture 3.5 library back to it's original location. I have a folder on my desktop in which I keep photos that i am going to convert to HDR. When I opened it today to trash some of the unwanted photos, I discovered my Aperture library there! this is a large library of over 300 G. How do I move it back to it's proper place? Should I split it? I am using referenced files. Thanks for any suggestions.

Where do you usually keep your Aperture Library? In its default location in your Pictures folder? You can drag the Aperture Library.aplibrary from the folder on the Desktop to the folder where you want to keep it. As long as the destination folder is also on your system drive, the size of the library should not matter.
Are your referenced original images also in the wrong folder? The originals should not be moved manually. Use Aperture's built-in command "Fle > Relocate Originals" to move the original image files for selected images to a different folder.

Whenever I try to download an application off the intenet it comes up with a pop-up giving me two options, to either save the file or sleect which applciation to open with, when I save the file it saves to my desktop, and when I double click it it opens up with text edit, and is just pages and pages of weird letters and symbols, and I've tried most of my applciations and it never works. How do I download applications off the internet? Please help!

If the file extension is .EXE, you are downloading Windows compatible software, you need software that is Mac compatible. What software are you attempting to download?
