How do you add photos to an iMovie project?

I am trying to create an imovie project but want to add photos not just video. I can not figure out ho to do this.

When I add photos between video clips they stay there, but when I press play, a still frame from either the video clip before or after is shown in the pictures place. Can someone please direct me as to how I may fix this so that I may see the actual photos I add when I press play?

How do you add photos to the ipod? I have tried everything that i think is the correct way to do it. I.e ipod options then photos selected the file and clicked ok. I just get the message "ipod cannot be update. Disk cannot be written to or read from" What does this mean and how do i get around it??
The files i am trying to open are in jpeg format
Also i assumed it is a similar process to put video on the ipod but this wont work either

How do i import photos to my iMovie project?

I am making an imovie project and using one of the imovie themes. When i try and import photos it won't let me. It also won't let me use my camera and says I need to connect a camera in order to import everything. The pictures are on my desktop already. What do i do??

If the pictures are on your Desktop, you can just drag them into your iMovie project.

How do you send more than 1 iMovie project to the same iDVD project???

I have 3 separate movie projects in iMovie with chapter markers and am trying to send them over to ONE iDVD project. Every time I send a movie over, it creates a new iDVD project and I can't get all 3 movies in the same project.
I'm trying to put each movies as a submenu under the main menu in iDVD.
Any help would be appreciated!

OK, after a long night of trial and error, I've figured it out...
Issue 1: Files not showing up in the media pane--- miraculously after shutting down all open apps and then restarting the computer, my iMovie projects are now showing up in the movie pane of the media panel in iDVD...
Issue 2: Getting more than one movie project into iDVD with all the chapter settings--- a little more complicated!
In iMovie: SHARE > iDVD gives you a new iDVD project with 2 submenus: 1 with the entire movie, and 1 with "scene selections"
If you try to add a second iMovie project to the same iDVD project; it's not possible from within iMovie (at least not that I can figure out!).
You can add this second iMovie project to the same iDVD project by adding it to the project within iDVD from the MEDIA > MOVIES pane. This, however, will only add the movie and not give you the second submenu with scene selections.
To get the 2nd iMovie project into iDVD, I dragged the 2nd movie project from a finder window into the opened iDVD project. This adds the 2 submenus (1 with the movie and 1 with the scene selections) to the iDVD project.

Don't think that would work. Since my "system date" is already set at 2007. I have 2 imports, one has the year as 2048, and the other at 2016!! I don't know where they are getting these dates from, but they are not the system date.
Were the files imported directly from a camcorder or from files already on your hard drive? In the first case the year may have been taken from the time "stamp" recorded when the footage was shot (which may or may not have been correctly set by the user). On the other hand, files imported from the hard drive seem to be keyed to the date the imported file is written to the "Events" folder which, of course, reflects the current system time/date setting. That's why I said you had to then import (re-import) the files from a hard drive source -- i.e., to ensure the DTG would be re-written.

You can add a photo that is in iPhoto to your photo stream by selecting the photo and using "Photo Stream..." in the Share menu.

i have many photos on my computer, when i try and sync them it says that the some of the photos were not copied , one time it did copy a few pictures but only the first one was clear and the rest were a green red and blue mess.. do i have to buy something to convert my photos so my itouch can see it?

You can only sync one folder of photos to the iPod. However, you can have one level of subfolders in that one syncing folder. Each subfolder will show up as a separate album on the iPod.

HOW DO YOU ADD COMMENTARY TO A FINISHED PROJECT?

I have a finished movie project, made with iMovie 5.02, and am wanting to add
a video commentary on another button. I can create an extra button in iDVD menu, but I can't figure out how to get the movie in there. iDVD says to go to preferences, click on movies, click on add, and then drag the movie over to the media pane. When I do this, my video commentary will not drag over. Is this the wrong procedure, or is there another way? Does the commentary need to be in the same project? Thanks to all!

Well, I think your right about iDVD not having the capability to turn "on and off" a commentary within the same project. I did not have an extra audio track, but you gave me the idea to export the whole movie back to tape, then re-import back into the computer as one long clip (I've done this before on another project).
I then had plenty of extra audio tracks for whatever, and just added the same movie as a seperate button in iDVD with the commentary. I now have two buttons, one with commentary, the other without. Kind of a round about way of doing it, but works. Luckely, my project wasn't very long (about 16 min).

How can you add still photos to trailer in IMovie on IPAD2?

Currently the only way is to make in iMovie movie, and add the photos you wanted to use.
Export this to the camera roll, and import that video into the trailer.
Bit of a workaround sadly.
