How do you backup ipod classic songs to computer?

how do you backup ipod classic songs to computer? i am only seeing how to backup my itunes library. i want to backup the specific music on my ipod so that when i get a new ipod, i can just restore that music that i've already filtered from my library to what is on my ipod. thanks!

I have about 6000 songs on my itunes library and i've filtered it down to 4500 on my ipod (so far) that I like and really listen to. I don't really want to go through all of that again...

How do you backup IPhone Contact List to PC Computer(XP) ?

The easiest way that I have found is to open Outlook, go back to Itunes & select your phone.
Choose the 'Info' tab at the top of the screen & tick the box marked 'Sync contacts with' & choose Outlook from the drop down box.
    Image attached may explain better.

  • How do i copy Ipod classic songs to new computer when it says "Ipod synced with another library" and cannot find that library

Have a new PC and have a classic Ipod with about 6000 songs and had my itunes on an external HD a Maxtor One Touch II. Make a long story short the songs are not in the external HD no more songs. also looking in the C drive of the computer \My Music\itunes does not have the songs. Have checked hidden files so that I can see all the files. To make matters worse the I-tunes program on the external Maxtor was corrupted and the only way to fix it was to download a new itunes. So I wanted to repopulate the library but it appears I am not able to. Can anyone explain to me how I can copy my songs from the Ipod classic back to the library in the external HD?

  • How to get data ipod classic to a computer

I had to format my PC in an emergency. And I had my photos in my computer and my ipod classic. When I formatted the PC I lost all my photos but I have it in this ipod. Could somebody help me to get these photos back into the computer. I have not connected it to the computer because it says it will sync and erase all the data in my ipod and I will lose my photos. I can't lose these photos. They are my precious memories

Whats the model of the blu ray player?
I'm assuming you would have to to buy a dock or AV cables that connects to ipod and correspond with the model of player.

How do you backup music on a different computer than what was used to sync the iPod.
When I Control-click on the iPod  in iTunes under Devices I do not see Back Up but Transfer Purchases.  When selected it did not transfer all music on the iPod.  I'm trying to perform a Restore to troubleshoot the iPod (the controls wheel is not working).

how do you sync only selected songs to your ipod using the new version of itunes?

Same way you did with the previous versions of iTunes.
To view the iPod in iTunes, Ctrl S to show the sidebar.
Create a playlist, add songs and sync that playlist.
Or drag songs to the iPod in iTunes.

  • How can I move music from an iPod classic to my computer?

I need to know how to transfer my 1800 songs in my iTunes on my iPod classic to my computer.

If your music collection was purchased from iTunes, you are in a good shape since that music is forever yours under your iTunes account. Therefore, after installing iTunes on your new computer, sign into your account and see all your music under "Purchsed". Then simply download it to be phisically present onto your computer (for free since you've already paid for it). On the other hand if you happens to not be a sucker to waist money on iTunes and your collection was ripped from the internet (via torrents and such), you can follow this guide to move iPod music back to computer. Hope it helps.

  • How to put my iPod classic music onto my iPad?

Hi I was wondering how to move my iPod classics music on to my new iPad. Thanks.

You will need to sync your music via your computer's iTunes, you can't connect an iPod to an iPad for copying music. If you don't have the music on your computer's iTunes then you should be able to copy music purchased from iTunes from the iPod via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. For music from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) then if you don't have it on your computer nor on a backup then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back from your iPod : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • How can I reset ipod classic when error message 439 shows?

how can I reset Ipod classic when error message 439 shows?

The easiest solution and apparently the only approved solution via Apple (although a pain if you haven't backed up your device) to restore the phone if you can't figure out the passcode. It will erase everything but if you have a fairly recent backup then you will be fine...you may only lose anything that was added after the last backup. You can also try searching the Apple Support pages and forum to see if there is another solution. Ultimately, it's a plus to a certain degree that there is no easy way to change the passcode....if someone "found" it and wanted to try to get in to it....but it's a pain when it's a situation like yours.

Why has iTunes seperated a album into indevidual songs, which I have copied over from my external hard drive into iTunes? How can you pull all the songs back together into one album again?

Quick answer:  Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085).
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields.  If they are not a multiple CD set you still need to make sure the disc number fields are set correctly or all empty.

How do I get the music from my iPod classic onto my computer if it came from a different iTunes account?

    Hello JLGBone,
It sounds like you are needing to transfer your music from your iPod classic to your computer. The following article will help you transfer your iTunes Store purchases:
iTunes Store: Transfer purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
Any items that are not purchased from the iTunes Store will need to be re imported to the iTunes library manually.

  • When ripping a CD to iTunes to sync to iPod classic, songs are not listed in sequence.  Some are missing only to find them further down the list

When ripping some CDs to iTunes to then sync to my iPod classic, songs are not listed in proper sequence.  Some are separated from CD and listed elsewhere, what gives??

You probably have you Itunes music set as list and not as albums. Go to view at the top of Itunes and check as albums.

  • How do I sync ipod classic to new windows 8 computer?

I want to sync my ipod classic to a new laptop, operating on Windows 8. My existing itunes account is on my old, very slow desktop computer. On there, is my current music library.
    1) Please could someone tell me, how to sync my ipod to my new computer, in simple terms if at all possible!
    2) If I manage this, can I copy my itunes music library to my new computer?
    Thank you in anticipation!

You need to copy your entire iTunes folder to the new computer from the old one. Otherwise you could lose some of your content.

  • HT1339 how to restore an ipod classic with error 1415

how to restore an ipod classic with error 1415 latest operating system

    Hey there beaver17
    How are you?
Well, I have an iPod Classic, it gave me the error -1436 error and would not restore on iTunes.
    I did the following:
My Boss (@work) has a fairly old iBook but it has OS-X, so I decided to give it a try and connected my iPod to it.
The system showed a window telling me that the disk is not MAC formated and needs to be validated prior further action. Snce it is a Mac product, I thought "yeah, go ahead".
It then opens the disk manager utility for the Mac and showed the disk. It's window has some tabs, one is to verify the disk, so I verified it. Guess what, it had some invalid clusters.
Then I formatted the iPod to OS-X Plus file system (next tab to the right). After formating the iPod, I "ejected" the iPod and reconnected to my PC. The Windows iTunes found an iPod with Mac file system and asked me to restore it. As I clicked on the "restore" button, I crossed my fingers as this was the last resource I have.
Finally, after the file extraction was done, it began to restore the iPod!!
I'm so happy about being able to restore the iPod that I decided to share with all you guys this solution as it is the most usefull, in my opinion.
Hope you can find someone with an iBook or a desktop Mac, so you can fix yours.
If it works for you, make sure to share the tip!!
    Kind regards
    Salvador Rivera
