How do you bounce a stereo track to make two seperate tracks ?

I have an audio file that is a from a session where I used my Zoom H4N to make a live recording. I've imported it into LPX and would like to bounce the stereo track to two separate tracks. Can you do this in logic? I seem to remember you could in Sonar.   Also, is there anyway to reduce the volume/gain at certain points of a track that briefly peg?
Thanks...

In the Bounce Window, choose "Split" instead of "interleaved" from the File Type menu to bounce your mix as separate mono files
Regarding the gain correction, use Automation
Hope that helps

    You can not. This is only a feature of iOS. It would only be supported via the dashboard on OS X

  • I wanted to know how do you calculate the number of days between two dates

    i wanted to know how do you calculate the number of days between two dates in java ? i get both the dates from the database. i guess there are many issues like leap year and Febuary having diff no of months ..etc.

    thanks..
    I solve my problem as
    public class MyExample {
        public static void main(String a[]) {
            String stdate = "2009-03-01";
            java.sql.Date currentDate = new java.sql.Date(System.currentTimeMillis());
            java.sql.Date preDate = java.sql.Date.valueOf(stdate);
            System.out.println(currentDate);
            System.out.println(preDate);
    //        int dateCom = preDate.compareTo(currentDate);
    //        System.out.println(dateCom);
            long diff = currentDate.getTime() - preDate.getTime();
            int days = (int) Math.floor(diff / (24 * 60 * 60 * 1000));
             System.out.println(days);
    }

  • How do you combine 2 mono tracks into a single stereo track?

    Question here:
    How do I combine 2 mono tracks into a single stereo track in Logic?
    I recorded using my left and right out of my keyboard to a hard-disk recorder (Korg d888). The files are made as two separate wav files. Is there way to combine these in Logic so I can treat it as one stereo track?
    I have several files to do and am hoping Logic has something like a "combine tracks to stereo track" tool or something.

    Solo both tracks and bounce them with no effects and faders at 0 dB.

  • OMF import-How do others deal with stereo tracks?

    When importing OMF's from Avid or FCP all stereo audio files come in on separate mono tracks (ie all music tracks will appear as two adjacent mono tracks). When track managing, all stereo audio files need to be moved from the mono tracks and placed on to stereo tracks (for inserting of effects, etc.) prior to editing and mixing.
    In another pro audio ap that shall remain nameless, one would simply grab the stereo pair (left and right sides of the audio file) from the adjacent mono tracks and drag them onto a newly created stereo track. This method is extremely fast and is vital when faced with an hour long show (especially when the video editor hands off an OMF to which there is no rhyme or reason which happens more often than not!).
    How is this accomplished in Logic?

    aaron, read through this twice before and now about 3 times more. i still don't understand your problem.
    i would have prepared tracks prior to importing in logic, or imported them into some kind of template and shifted them around like that. i would use KCs to accomplish most of this. you only need the LH file to play back a split stereo file in stereo.
    Hi Rohan,
    As a professional post audio mixer, I am given OMF's from either Avid or FCP from the client. I have no control over how the tracks are managed by the video editor prior to my receiving them.
    Even if the video editor has track managed the audio appropriately (VO, production audio, FX and music all placed on their own tracks which rarely happens), the files will still come into a DAW on separate adjacent mono tracks.
    For example, all of the music in an hour long program will come in with the left side of the stereo file on one mono track and the right side of the audio file on another mono track. This is just how OMF's translate from video aps to DAW's. The OMF cannot be tweaked to operate differently. It is what it is. Obviously any stereo elements need to be placed on stereo tracks for eq, compression and volume automation.
    When mixing a show, the first thing that must be done is to 'track manage' all of your elements. Usually VO on one track, production audio split amongst a few tracks, mono and stereo effects on their own tracks and then a couple of stereo tracks for the music.
    So let's say I open an OMF. The first thing that must be done is to go through the show, identify all of the stereo elements (most commonly music tracks and FX), grab them from the mono tracks that they came in on and place them on to newly created stereo tracks. In Pro Tools this is a fairly quick process as you are able to grab two mono files and drag them directly on to a new stereo track right in the arrange page.
    Every time you open a new OMF you are confronted with hundreds of regions that need to be track managed before you can edit and mix. Deadlines are always tight so a fast and efficient method is a must.
    What I am describing is standard practice in a post audio workflow when mixing for television. This is not a pressing issue as the studios I freelance for are all PTHD based. However, I would love to start testing my Logic rig at home to see how it stacks up on big sessions!
    Any help or tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • How do you "UNLINK" the audio tracks?

    I have had LOGIC now for about 3 weeks. I am learning tons and enjoying the program overall. I have received some great help from this forum. My latest adventure is creating more audio tracks. I found out recently from this forum that I had the settings in my LOGIC setup. I increased the number of audio tracks that I can use. My current question is, If I need more audio tracks in a project, I click on an audio track and then go to the Track>Create Multiple Tracks menu. I can import as many as I need.
    The problem I am having is, when I create the tracks, they are somehow "linked" to whatever track that I clicked on when I choose to create the new tracks. I have tried changing the track and midi channels in the LH side of the arrange window, but when I change one track, the other one changes also. I don't know how to separate them. Is there some way to do that? ALSO>>>> Is there a way to create new audio tracks without having to click on an existing track first?
    Thank you for your consideration.

    The fastest way I know is to 1)- open the track mixer window, 2) click on the global button - to turn it on, 3) click on track button - to show all available tracks, 4) double click on an unused track, this will put a new track into the arrange window.
    Turning off the global button in the mixer window and selecting the parts you want to display (Track, Instruments, MIDI, auxs, busses, etc) will show you the active tracks you have in the arrange window.

  • How do you Rearrange Video & Audio Tracks?

    I need to know how to arrange the stacking order of them

    If you're asking if you can actually move the track so that track 1 appears above track 2, don't think you can do it. You can move the contents of the track pretty easily as mentioned in the other answer.
    To add to Nick's post, you can add a track directly above a specific track by control clicking on the patch panel of the appropriate track (I think) and choose add track. And you can move a clip or series of clips directly above or below if the target track is empty in that section by selection it and then option-up (or down).

  • How do you add a missing track number?

    With the latest version of iTunes, 12.1.0.71, how do you add a track # to an mp3 if it is not there already? Right clicking and selecting Get Info doesn't seem to provide any way to do anything except modify existing fields. However it is often the case that you might want to add a field that doesn't yet have anything in it.

    Most text fields can be edited in the various List views. Track and disc numbers are missing from most other non-music versions of Get Info. You might want to drop a line to iTunes Feedback with your reasons for wanting them back. In the meantime I've written two scripts that may be useful: SetDiscNumber and SetTrackNumber. Thankfully it is still possible to set values via script, even if it is a somewhat clunky workaround. Alternatively you could temporarily change the media kind.

  • How do you add a UWL tracker programatically?

    I have an approval workflow kicked off from a web dynpro form. I would like to be able to add a specific portal user as a tracker in the UWL when the form is submitted and the workflow begins.  Any code/api references or solutions are welcome.
    Thanks,
    WA

    Hi,
    Yes I know it. Isn't it working already as you described? Or well, if I remember correctly it displays the started workflows (of the user). And there should be a history functionality too (depending on your portal version) that displays the workflow log (which is not that clear or useful for normal users). And completed tasks the user can display from the drop down menun in the main UWL view (and there is a similar history functionality for them).
    If you really want to build a useful "tracker" for UWL (meaning that the standard functionalitites are not good enough) you need to build it by yourself. You can do it as a separate application/iView. It should be possible to add your own custom applications to the UWL as a new custom tab - or of course you can include your "tracking application" to the portal also as a separate iView.
    If you are only working with one backend system, you might as well build the custom application with Java web dynpro (with RFC calls to the backen) or ABAP Web Dynpro. If you have a multiple backend system, you might need to check out the UWL API, and see if some of its functionalities provide ways to get some "workflow tracking data".
