How do you cancel Firefox updates

I want to block certain sites and videos but everytime Firefox updates the add ons become obselete and have to be updated to block sites and videos.
I am not here everyday so when I miss the updates, access to blocked sites and videos is activated again.

Depending on your OS, in Firefox, go to Options->Advanced->Updates tab and set accordingly.

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Are there any instructions available on how to setup a Firefox update server that can automatically download updates from the Mozilla site and users can then grab the updates from the internal server? I'm using wampserver so that I can utilize Apache and PHP on the 2012 server.

How do I cancel an update do OSX 10.9.5?

Dear list members, I had serious trouble (crash, freezing) after updating my old iMac 27" (Late 2009) to OSX 10.9.5. Now I formatted my hard drive and fresh installed OSX 10.9.2. However, without me asking for it (I didn't turn on auto-update), the App Store downloaded OSX 10.9.5 and wants to update my system after a reboot (please see the screenshot). How do I cancel this update? I'm sure OSX 10.9.5 will make my iMac crash again, so I'd better wait for a debugged version, which will surely have to come soon, as several users are having similar problems. Thanks!

This is essentially paulbruster's answer, but I've added the steps some might assume, but which aren't so obvious to those of us who are new at this, like me.
This solution might ''appear'' to be long and complicated, but after you follow the directions once, you'll find it's quick, clean, and simple. Almost like they designed it this way.
# If you haven't already, open a bunch of tabs on a few different subjects.
# Click the List All Tabs button on the right side of the tab strip.
# Select Tab Groups.
# Create a few groups as described [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-are-tab-groups#w_how-do-i-create-a-tab-group here] , i.e. just drag them out of the main thumbnail group into the new groups they create.
# Now click on any thumbnail in any new group, but not the original big default group you may have left some tabs in.

I realize that you have found your iPod that you previously thought to be lost and had initiated an erase from iCloud. Once set to erase, the process cannot stop, but you can restore from any previous iCloud or iTunes backups that you may have for the device.

If you erase then find your iOS device, you can restore the information on the device using iCloud Backup (if backup was turned on before you erased it) or iTunes. how do you stop an update on Pages without losing your data? i've connected my ipad to my phone's internet network through tethering. it's been ages already. but Pages is still not fully updated and i just wanna stop it anyway without losing my work inside...can anyone please shed light on this? i'd be absolutely certainty definitely grateful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can try pausing the download by tapping on the Pages icon, but you may not be able to use Pages until the update completes. I don't know that for sure, but I wouldn't want to take the chance on corrupting the app and maybe the files.
