How do you carry the darned thing around?

OK, this will sound like a really stupid question, but seriously: I've ordered a new RAZR MAXX and it seems absolutely enormous to me.  This will be my first "smartphone" and while I'm looking forward to all the features and functionality, I'm seriously wondering where I'll put it.  It seems too big to fit comfortably into a pants pocket (where I'm accustomed to carrying my ancient, tiny dumbphone.)  I see people at work who literally carry "smartphones"  around in their hands from meeting to meeting, placing them like status symbols on each conference room table.  I'm not into that, and would surely forget to pick it back up and would leave it behind at some point.  I see a few people with those belt holsters; let's just say I'm not seeing those as a fashion statement that's for me. So what does that leave?  How do you all do it comfortably (and without breaking it by, say, sitting on it?)

Jerry sometimes i put my Maxx in my Oakly Glasses Bag:  I put one in another for a little more thickness an Protection an they make for a really good thing to Clean the Razr's Display as the Bag is Made for this type of thing.  Jerry Here is Also the Body Glove Case Not a Big Picture but if you Click on it. The picture should get a little Bigger in size.. B33

  • How are you carrying the Air around?

I want a case that fits the Air perfectly. I have a Mac-Case binder for 13" laptops but its too big for me. I am looking on-line at the Higher Ground 13" Shuttle but I really want to see it first before I purchase. Does Apple carry this in the store?
Let me know how you carry your Air.
    Darrin

Oooh, nice! Personally, I'd want to save up some extra cash for a case like this:

This "Half Pocket Full of Puter" should be the right size for an MBA, right? It's great for everyday use, especially if you don't have much else to carry with you. I figure the MBA should fit in there nicely with its accessories and a book or magazine. And I think it'd come in especially handy if I were to take the MBA to the Philippines someday.
Btw--penmanila, I see you live in the Philippines. How is your MBA doing out there? See--every other year or so, I go to the Philippines in May. I'd like to bring a laptop with me when I go, but I'm worried about temperatures being too high out there. At least my parents have air conditioning units in each room of their house, but I'm still concerned about how a laptop would do out there in general. :S

  • HT1459 how do you unlock the darned ipod

i have tried about 10 times to restore 2nd gen ipod because my 8 year olds friend typed in wrong passcode  nothing is working how do u unlock this thing

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

I must admit that I did have a bit of a chuckle when I read your post. I figure you don't think it is all that funny though.
Sounds like you've enabled a second keyboard. Your redemption should be found by changing the keyboard language back to US English.

  • How do i turn the darn thing on to play, how do i turn the darn thing on to play

I bought a ipod nano, downloaded tunes but the device won't play

Either rip a CD, or buy a song off of the iTunes store, and then click and drag to the tab in the upper right hand corner that says iPod, and then try and play that song or album?
If that isn't the issue, i'll keep this topic open in another tab to see if you have any other questions.

  • How do you fix the 2 to 3 second voice delay when answering iphone 5 this is with multiple carriers and its unaceptable on a phone that cost almost 700 dollars it did not happen on my cheap prepay samsung

how do you fix the 2 to 3 second delay on hearing somones voice when answering the iphone 5 this happens on lots of  iphone 5s with differant carriers so its not one carriers problem its probably apples this is unacceptable on such an expensive phone and very irratating. my last cheap samsung t mobile 50 dollar pre pay never did this,im new in my  contract an will take the phone back if i have to put up with this for 2 years.other than that huge problem i love the phone. i dont understand why this did not get covered like the maps problem, cause its a lot of phones and its probably an ios problem.

    Wow!
I'm not going to be of much use regarding answers but I sure am going to watching this post like a hawk for any replies. My package is a slightly diluted version of this and I do find the BBtalk and data limits hard to make the most of as well.
If nothing else this totally highlights how complicated BT have managed to make their packages.

  • I just synced my iPhone and lost all the info in notes from my phone. It was replaced with whT was on my iMac how do you make the sync go from phone to desktop and not the other way around

I Just synced my iPhone and lost all the info in notes I had on the phone. How do you have the info sync from phone to desktop and not the other way around as I usually make contact changes etc on my phone. I would then like to be able to sync that info from desktop to ipad thanks

It does make sense.  The iPhone is a one-person device and just syncs to one computer.
The way it should work is as follows:
Old computer content ---> New computer
New computer <---> syncs to iPhone
But the way you are trying to operate sounds like:
    Old computer content ---> iPhone
    ... and ...
    New computer content <---> iPhone
So simply move your old stuff (either directly from iTunes, or from a computer backup) to the new computer, have it all there, then sync your iPhone to the new machine.

Click on the text in the menu so that you see the bounding box around it. Look to the right of the Movie Menu customization workspace, Adjustments Palette, Text and edit your text font style and size.
In this screenshot, "Glass Flowers" text in the main menu is selected and its Adjustments Palette Text editing opportunities are shown. To do comparable editing in the scene menu, click on the scene menu in the bin to bring its image up to the screen.

  • How do you extend the frame from one side but not the whole thing?

I am updating my blog and want to put a rectangle picture into the pre-set frame. I need to stretch it horizontally but the entire frame (i.e., both sides and top/bottom) stretched instead. How do you extend the frame from one side but not the whole thing?

In Inspector, select the Graphic Inspector. Choose, from the Fill options, Image Fill. Select the image from the dropdown and click Open. Now go back to Inspector and click on Scale to Fit. Choose from the options in the window. There are a number of them which should address your problem:
With the Blog template, you will probably need to insert a text box over the stock placement frame and work with that instead.

  • Pages for ipad2 - how do you get text to wrap around the contours of a picture? Not the simple square wrap, but I saw text following the contours of a bike wheel at the Apple store demo

Pages for ipad2 - how do you get text to wrap around the contours of a picture?  Not the simple square wrap, but I saw text following the contours of a picture of a bike wheel at the Apple store demo

    Sjazbec,
    Thanks for the reply.
I did read the help and went through the tutorial - the butterfly text wrap (and the wrap around the curved contour of the bicycle wheel at the Apple store) is the reason I am asking this question.  I don't know how to use one of my own pictures and tell Pages what contour to wrap around.  Is there some additional image editing software that I need to "creatively crop" one of my own pictures, so that Pages will be able to wrap around that contour?
    Thanks / Danke!!

  • Setup Assistant: Where IS the darned thing?

    I just had the guys at the Genius Bar update the OS on my iMac from 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard, and then updated it to 10.6.5. Rather than stick around the busy Macstore to get things configured, I opted to take the machine home and do it there, using the Setup Assistant as the store guy recommended. But where is the darned thing? I can't find it in my Applications or in my Utilities, and I only get lots of mystery files when I search using Spotlight, and I'd rather not open things blindly. So I guess I have two questions;
    1. How do I find it and open it?
    2. Do I even need to, if I was happy with the settings I had in 10.5.8?

Actually, it's a complicated story involving a failed hard drive, a failed optical drive, and an OS upgrade that didn't happen the first time around, but I think the end result was, effectively, a simple upgrade.
So that takes care of that! Thank you.

  • How do you hold the Magic Mouse?

I've had my Magic Mouse for about a month now and the one thing that's really got me on the verge of swapping it out is how I inadvertently move the canvas when I'm working with Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.  With standard mice you don't really have to care about the state of your index finger  after you click or how it may slightly touch the surface as you move the mouse around, but with the MM it's something to be conscious of.  When I stop to inspect the mechanics of how I use a mouse, it's amazing how often my index finger inadvertently bounces back and forth from the surface.  When I'm lifting up, setting back down, considering a click, scrolling, etc.  I'm gonna try to consciously keep my index finger down when I'm moving the mouse around in hopes that it'll stop this unwanted result.
So how do you hold the Magic Mouse?  Is your index finger always down when you move it around?

Good question. Seems i use the middle finger for everything except for when I need to swap desktops or do other stuff with mission control.

  • How do you set the original outbound message from MSG_WAIT_ACK to MSG_COMPLETE ?

We are using B2B & OSB to send out messages via eBMS protocol
So basically this are the two use cases
    1) EBusiness Suite => B2B => OSB=> Customer for the outbound Shipment Notices
    2) EBusiness Suite <= B2B <= OSB<= Customer for the Inbound acknowledgement
We are able to use standard B2B functionality to send out the messages using eBMS with https and client certificates
On the way back from the customer, we are using OSB that gets the raw data and the body gets sent to B2B
On the outgoing part a message gets created in B2B and is at MSG_WAIT_ACK
When the acknowledgement comes in, it comes as a seperate messgae in B2B and is at MSG_COMPLETE
How do you set the original outbound message from MSG_WAIT_ACK to MSG_COMPLETE?
We use JMS and have played around with jca.jms.JMSProperty.INREPLYTO_MSG_ID but that is not propagating to REFER_TO_MESSAGE_ID in B2B_BUSINESS_MESSAGE table
I tried using jca.jms.JMSProperty.CONVERSATION_ID as well but no luck
    Any response is highly appreciated!

Are you asking about your own JavaMail code or about somebody else's web-based mail agent?
If it's the latter (which is what it sounds like) then you find the checkbox in the preferences configuration, or whatever they call it, which says "Include original message in reply", or something like that. If such a thing exists, that is. If you're thinking that the e-mail message controls how their code formats replies to it, that's not how it works.
Even Outlook lets you configure how replies are formatted, the only difference is that the Outlook default is to include the original message and your web-based agent's default is to not include it.
