On a mac, how do you change the fan speed to 7200 or something?

However, as others have indicated, you should determine what the issue is. For starters, is your machine actually running hot? Have you run something to let you know what the actual temperatures are? Setting the fan at max speed will make your system noisy, will reduce the fan life, and significantly reduce your battery charge.

If you have a higher version it should include the earlier version settings.Usually each update is a rollup of previous changes plus newer.
If you are having serious overheating problems I would use a laptop cooling pad with fan/fans. Also,a less radical approach to the mod posted above is drilling some air holes in the bottom of case where the GPU is located. Adding copper shims shown HERE or HERE on his 'About ME' also keeps temps down.

How do you change the burn speed when making a CD?

I have tried burning my iTunes purchases onto a CD, and when I try to play them back on my CD player, nothing happens. It will play back in iTunes on the Mac, but not on my CD player or in my car.
I suspect it has to do with the speed at which they burn, but I have no idea how to change that?

Hi Nicholas3,
I just want to verify that I understand your issue correctly. You are acquiring temperature data and want to slow you acquisition down, I am assuming that you are using a thermocouple and thus are using DAQmx to read said thermocouple. If this is correct the easiest way to accomplish this is to insert a wait into the acquisition loop. The wait functions are on the Timing palette. This will hold the loop for the specified number of milliseconds before allowing it to iterate. There is an excellent shipping example titled Cont Acq Thermocouple Samples-SW Timed.vi within this example this method of holding the loop is used. as illustrated in the screen shot from the example.
What is happening is in the while loop a call to the DAQmx Read VI is made, pulling a single temperature sample from the DAQ device into PC memory. The while loop will then wait until the user specified amount of time has elapsed before iterating and pulling the next temperature sample from the DAQ device.

Isn't there a way to see what channel it is on so one can choose a different channel?
Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of the screen.
If you want to manually set the channel on an Apple router, you would use AirtPort Utility for this.

Crrystal Reports using ADO. How do you Change the Isolation Level? I found a knowledge base article that allows you to change it for ODBC. But nothing on ADO. I kicked around changing the reports to ODBC but even then the keys described in the article do no exist. Any suggestions?

Yes, you can. If you use the current AirPort Express, Apple says that you can connect up to 50 devices. Realistically, make that 25-30 or so before the speed really begins to drop.
Remember that you will have to reset the modem though, before you connect it to the AirPort Express as the modem "remembers" the settings for your computer.

Let me give more details..We have 3 iPods and 2 iPhone4....I recently purchased the iPhone4 and when we connected it..It was already reading my wife's iPhone4..We went to the Apple Store at the Grove today and was told to de-authorize the system and connect my iPhone4 back and I should be able to change the name.

Also, if you have iCloud, you will probably also want to change the iCloud account on the phone to be yours:
Settings>iCloud - if Account is not yours, go to the bottom and Delete Account. Then sign back on with your iCloud account info.

the current day was light blue in ical in 10.6 but with plenty of contrast, but I recently made the bigger leap all the way to calendar in 10.9. the choice of color is terrible for reasons such as Spile1962 puts below, but also not having any way to tweak it is terrible. I'm on a bran d new imac and can barely see a difference and frankly, while I appreciate the subtlety, I still forget to look for the darker bar across the top of the current week and day. we should be able to adjust weekend and current day bg colors.
I went into the app's package contents in hopes that they were using a tiff/png file that I could tweak on my own but couldn't find anything for them. all the icons are there, as are the bg sets for all the little pop-ups and things, but I couldn't even find a reference to a hex color in the plist file.
send apple feedback. I just did myself, except that Calendar hasn't made the list (yet?), only iCal up to version 4.x, and Messages is still only iChat for feedback, and some others are old as well. apparently after steve died, apple's attention to these details just died with him. it's been that long since those other apps should have been relevant on their site.

I know that I can select the Calanders list, but when I create a new "Calander" it doesn't allow me to choose a color and it doesn't show up in my list when working within an event.

I appended this question to another thread with the same topic but have not received a reply, so I'll try with a new question. Publisher 2010, when doing mail merge, will only merge and print two records at a time. How do you change the default size of
the print batch size? This is for a 4 page document, 8 1/2 x 11, printed two sides on 11 x 17. I've tried all the suggestions that were in the other thread. The response that was marked as the answer by the moderator is incorrect and does not work. Nothing
suggested in that thread works. A registry fix that worked for Publisher 2003 won't work because the print batch size key does not exist in the registry for Pub 2010. At least not that I can find. Printing to an XPS document doesn't work. It asks for a filename,
prints 2 records, asks for new file name, prints 2 records, asks for new file name, and so on. The same for printing to a PDF document. Merging to a new Pub document doesn't work. When I print that job every other sheet is turned over. I.e., sheet one has
pages 1 & 3 on top, next sheet has 3 & 4 on top, and so on. This makes it impossible to run them through the folder. The same thing happens when I print that complete merged document to XPS or PDF. I have the latest drivers installed for our printer, a Toshiba
2500C copier/printer connected via network. What do I need to do to to change the batch size to something reasonable, like 100 records?

It's been two weeks since I posted this question. What does it take to get an answer? I cannot believe it's being ignored, nor can I believe that someone in MS doesn't have an answer.
