How do you change the size of a JFrame?

I have some code using a jframe for an application creating buttons, but i want to also have some graphics in there, and I was wondering if there was a way to change the size of the jframe.

Use JFrame.setSize().

I'm a new Mac user. How do you change the size of pictures in iPhoto? Sometimes when sending e-mails, the picture files are extremely large and take a long time to load... Is there any way you can make the picture or file smaller? Like on a PC, you can open the photo in the Paint program and just reduce the size... Is there anything like this for the Mac?

Assuming that you're accessing your email package from INSIDE iPhoto, you're given a choice of picture sizes. Personally, I've found "medium" to be a good compromise but you might prefer "small" (iPhoto will tell you the file size).
If you don't know what I'm talking about, first go iPhoto Preferences > General and select your email client. Then, go to the View menu and select Show in Toolbar > Email.

i foudn them using select all, and then deleting the boxes.

TextEdit is not a very sophisticated program. As far as I know, there's no way to resize an image on the fly in TextEdit, so you'll have to follow Shotgun00's advice.
I would advise not using TextEdit for anything real. Buy yourself a copy of Pages from the App Store instead, you'll be much happier with its capabilities if you intend to create complex documents containing images and text.

I volunteer for an animal rescue organization, and I need to post some digital photos I took of some kittens I am fostering on petfinder.org as soon as possible. The photos I have are too large for the website to handle - I need to reduce the file size before they will accept them. How do I do this? I need to find out as quickly as I can so I can get these little guys posted and work on finding them homes. Any help would be extremely appreciated! the fastes and easiest way to reduce the size (pixels) is to go to your:
iPhoto Menu > Share > Email > you should choose small or medium... and mail it to another account, open email, copy to desktop and you've got a reduced size of photo that will work nicely on most websites... you'll notice that directly below this window, you will see how large or small the file has gotten "Estimated Size", this refers to the same number of 500 in your post...
You can actually do it another way, is to > Share > Export > choose "Scale No Larger Than:", here you need to ask your webmaster what size is preferred... fill in and export to your desktop...
Otherwise, you would need to use an image edting software to "Optimize" image... Personally, I would use the email function... Best wishes on your project, Rick

I get the font size too small on Hotmail when viewing through Firefox. The screen size and font size is too big when viewing Flickr through Firefox. I am sure it is a simple question of adjusting zoom and I have seen it change while I am online. I just can't work out what I did to change it.

That is how mirrored mode works. Your computer screen, including resolution, is mirrored to your external monitor. So what ever the resolution of your computer screen this is the resolution you will get on your external monitor.
Turn off mirrored mode and use extended display. When using extended display you can set your computer and external monitor screen resolutions independently. So each can be using its native resolution for best results on each.

I appended this question to another thread with the same topic but have not received a reply, so I'll try with a new question. Publisher 2010, when doing mail merge, will only merge and print two records at a time. How do you change the default size of
the print batch size? This is for a 4 page document, 8 1/2 x 11, printed two sides on 11 x 17. I've tried all the suggestions that were in the other thread. The response that was marked as the answer by the moderator is incorrect and does not work. Nothing
suggested in that thread works. A registry fix that worked for Publisher 2003 won't work because the print batch size key does not exist in the registry for Pub 2010. At least not that I can find. Printing to an XPS document doesn't work. It asks for a filename,
prints 2 records, asks for new file name, prints 2 records, asks for new file name, and so on. The same for printing to a PDF document. Merging to a new Pub document doesn't work. When I print that job every other sheet is turned over. I.e., sheet one has
pages 1 & 3 on top, next sheet has 3 & 4 on top, and so on. This makes it impossible to run them through the folder. The same thing happens when I print that complete merged document to XPS or PDF. I have the latest drivers installed for our printer, a Toshiba
2500C copier/printer connected via network. What do I need to do to to change the batch size to something reasonable, like 100 records?

Basically, you need to wrap the word in a <span> tag, and apply either a class or an inline style to the span. Using a class is better because you can reuse it in other pages, or other parts of the same page. Also, changing the font size in the class will apply the changes to all instances of the class. With an inline style, you have to change each one individually.
To wrap a word in a <span> tag, select the word, then press Ctrl+T (Cmd+T on a Mac) to bring up the Wrap Tag dialog. Type "sp" (without the quotes), and press Enter twice. Then create a class using the CSS Designer. Apply the class to the word by selecting it again, and select the class from the Class drop-down menu in the Property inspector.
To create an inline style, select the word, and click the CSS button on the left of the Property inspector. Select the font size you want from the Size drop-down menu. If the size you want isn't listed, just type the value in the Size field.

I don't know if there is a way to set this. Some user's may prefer different sizes of window, depending on their job duties. For example, we have 170 Systems document management integrated with purchasing and payables so users shrink the Oracle window to fill about 60% of the screen while 170 uses the remaining 40% to display the scanned document.

I downloaded Tinkertool. Found the font section and increased the size of most selections. The only thing that changed that I can see is the window label. The apple line, bookmarks line, the tool bar in safari are all the same---font size of about 4. Found the finder "show view options" but that didn't seem to change anything either. I'll keep working. Restarted all apps after changes as well.
