How do you Chapter Video Podcasts in Final Cut Pro Studio 2

I am in final cut pro studio 2. I have my video setup like I want. I placed Markers and labeled them as chapters. But when I try to export i just get a chapterless video. How on earth do i get this to work. I tried exporting with Compressor and exporting with Quicktime pro. I just want to make a chaptered video podcast why is it so darn hard to do so? I went hunting everywhere on the net and nothing explains just how to do it in Final Cut Pro. Everything is iMovie this iMovie that .... well sorry, but I don't want to use stinking iMovie.
Sorry for venting I'm just really aggravated because I have tried four different things hoping it would work but each export which is two hours of wasted time that I fall more behind.

Hi Patrick,
My FCP experience is limited - I write software add-ons for it, but I don't edit. I remember this issue coming up before though. QuickTime has the ability to create chapter tracks, but you can't do this from markers in FCP. (I used to do it with the great QuickTime editor in Adobe GoLive.)
The chapter tracks in .mp4 video are similar but different to the QuickTime chapter tracks, so I assume that the FCP markers won't work. Frustrating!
Why don't you try out PodcastMaker free for 30 days: http://www.lemonzdream.com/podcastmaker/ This software is very easy to use and (outside of Garageband) is the easiest way to add chapter tracks to a podcast, and even though it's an extra step, it will help you with the podcasting side of the workflow you'll eventually be faced with.

  • URGENT HELP, How do you burn a DVD from Final Cut Pro

This is my first video and I have to have it done by Wednesday, but I dont know how to take the movie from final cut and import to DVD Studio Pro. If anyone can help please let me know as soon as you can. Thanks Zack

    Hi Zack
There are several ways to do it. To keep it simple just export a self contained movie out of FCP then import this into DVDSP. It will do all the encoding in the background for you. The prefered way is to export out of your timeline to Compressor and use one of the DVD-mpeg-2 presets. The preset you use depends on the the length of your project, the quality of the video, etc. Once you get to understand mpegging a bit more you can create your own settings to suit yourself. If you have to be done by tomorrow just keep it simple and get it done - then you can play another day : )
    Good luck

See reply in your other post.
The blue screen clip has to be positioned above the normal background clip of course.

So im safer using footage that is remotely being pulled from iphoto...
    vs
using footage that is imported into FCP from imovie?
Is there anything i can do in fcp to make this footage more reliable or safer or more stable as i pull remotely from iphoto?

The 4 minute music video that I've created with shots off my Canon T2i looks and plays great....If I uploaded the videos into Final Cut but did not save them on my desktop or anywhere else on the Mac would this be a reason to get this message? • How do I make a pic in final cut Pro stop  flickering?

how do I make a pic in final cut Pro stop  flickering?

Question: how do I make a pic in final cut Pro stop  flickering?
Answer: It depends on what is causing the flickering.  It could be due to the pixel dimensions being too large for the Sequence settings in FCP.  It could be due to thin horizontal lines in the image.  It could be due to areas of the image in high contrast with each other.   Or it could be due to a combination of several factors.
If the image is too large, reduce the pixel dimensions to a more reasonable size.
If it's due to thin horizontal lines, deinterlace the image, or slightly blur the lines in Photoshop.
If it's due to areas of high contrrast, reduce the contrast of those areas in Photoshop.
In FCP you can also try applying the Flicker filter to the image in the Timeline and/or a Gaussian blur filter with a setting of around 0.2 or 0.3

  • How do use the hum remover in final cut pro 5? Help

How do use the hum remover in final cut pro 5? Help!!

Simply drop the effect onto the appropriate audio track. Set the frequency for the hum frequency (50Hz or 60Hz depending on your power supply). Include whichever harmonics you think might be present eg. 100, 150, 200Hz.
Note that I have generally had more success by using Soundtrack Pro's noise removal tool.

  • Animation. How do I import still images in final cut pro x (from dragon frame) duration 3 frames pr. image?

Animation. How do I import still images in final cut pro x (from dragon frame) duration 3 frames pr. image? We have allready tried to set stillimages duration in preferences to 0,08 sek, but it does not have any effect!

You can drag your images to the timeline, select all, ctrl-d and set the duration to 3 frames by typing 3 and enter.
Or you can use Quicktime 7 to "open image sequence", select the desired duration, export your animation to quicktime and import that into FCP X for further editing.

  • Get Videos (vhs) into final cut pro 5

    Hi
I wonderd if theres any way of me linking up my video player to final cut pro 5 to get my videos onto my hard drive to watch etc. or any other way of getting my videos on there?
    Thanks

    You need an Analog/Digital convertor.
If your Handycam has RCA inputs, you can connect the VCR to the Handycam, a firewire cable from your Handycam to the computer, and capture as an uncontrolled device.
If your Handycam can't do A/D conversion, you'll need to buy an A/D convertor. This one will work:

although if you're going to do alot of it and your VHS tapes are old (the tracking isn't great), it'd be worth the extra $$ to get this one:

  • Panasonic camcorder HDC-TM90 any experience using Pavtube Video Converter with Final Cut Pro X

Does anyone have any experience using Pavtube Video Converter with Final Cut Pro X for Panasonic camcorder HDC-TM90 shooting in 1080 P 60 ( mts file extension)

Don't use these generic offbrand converters to get footage into FCP X. they re-encode your video and cause loss of quality. If FCP X cannot import your video then use a utility that simply re-wraps it into a quicktime file with no transcoding or loss. I prefer Clipwrap which works great and is updated frequently but there are free alternatives like Media Converter or Rewrap.
But version 10.04 of FCP X should import it directly from camera as long as the folder structure is complete and you are not trying to merely import it from single mts files.

  • How to work on TOD files on Final Cut Pro

    Hi,
I can't figure out how to work on .TOD files on Final Cut Pro. I'm using a JVC Everio HD40 camera. None of the sequence presets work. Is there a plug-in or something else I could try?
    Thanks for any help!

.TOD is JVCs version of an MPEG 2 file.
Use Log and Transfer from the File menu and convert to ProRes.
