For your PC's that will be connecting for surfing only designate the 2.4GHZ band as the default connection on that PC. For devices, like a DirecTV HD-DVR, use a WGA600N and connect it via the 5GHZ band. As long as you have unique SSID's for each band it is simple.

Which people can mess with what settings? You shouldn't allow anyone else to access your Mac when logged in to your account and home folder/directory. OS X was designed for multiple users of the same Mac with each regular user having their own computer login account (with or without admin privileges) and associated home folder/directory to store and access their data and settings for their login account only.

How to hide system tables when using the Oracle SQL Developer?

I would like to know how can I show only the tables that I created under the Tables tree? I didnt find a way to create a separate database using the Oracle Sql Developer. I see all the tables together, and would like to differentiate between different databases.
Can anyone explain to me how to do these things?

How to hide system tables when using the Oracle SQL Developer? if u connected with sys, system or user with dba role then u have a privilege to see these tables,so revoke the privilege/role from ur user to view this tables if ur connected other then sys,system,
I didnt find a way to create a separate database using the Oracle Sql Developer. DBCA is a tool for creating the new database.

How do you type a letter using Apple, this is my first Apple and I have only used the Windows Operating System before.

If it has a standard system installation that comes pre-installed with Macs, there should be an application called Pages installed. That is Apple's word processor.
You can launch it from the Dock, if its shortcut is there. The icon looks like an inkwell with a pen. (If you have related follow-up questions, such as setting up a printer, please post back...)

How can you tell how fast you are sampling when using digital inputs to the PCI6014

i am currently sampling information via th edigital inputs of teh PCI6014. However in order to perform FFT and even to use the "Amplitude and Phase Spectrum vi" i need to know my sampling rate so that i can wire this constant to dt.i have attached the Vi that i created as well as some sample data. can you please help me to configure it such that i obtain a correct display of amplitude and phase. thanks

How do you link to or use the Adobe CDN after you publish your project?

So maybe I am stupid but I really can't find any useful info on how this CDN publishing actually works...
This is from the edge animate API adobe white papers (also right below it in the section about HTML pages I think they are missing the word header in the first sentence... kinda funny - Adobe Edge Animate CC JavaScript API)

Using the Adobe Content Distribution Network (CDN) is a great way to speed up Animate composition delivery. Compositions using the Adobe CDN all share a single URL for jQuery and the Edge Runtime. The browser caches the runtime, so the user only downloads the library once no matter how may Animate compositions they view, even if compositions are on different sites and produced by different authors. Don't use the CDN if your composition needs to run without an Internet connection or if you want to use your own hosting exclusively.
The Animate Runtime CDN uses the following URL:

I mean this all sounds great! So how do I use it? I don't see an obvious place in this URL to replace with what would be the link to my project? I also did not get any unique identification numbers that I could put into a URL to pull the correct content. Shouldn't I be having some unique identifier? How dose it know which project is mine? Maybe I just really don't understand how this works...
My goal is to have this nice little animation I made in edge play when someone visits the website and then fade into the homepage. Is this possible? It would be great if I could just put some script links in the header and let the adobe CDN take care of all the delivery aspects and keep my server load down rather than uploading the files myself and having to use extra bandwidth.

Yes where do I get my unique script files to link to adobe CDN... But Adobe CDN dose not work that way... It just host common files... So when you check that box it automatically writes that script in your files that you need to host on your server... That last part was not clear to me that it was only certain files... Why not all the files right?

This obviously refers to me putting a link in the head of my website that links to the adobe CDN for my entire animation and not uploading any files to my server... Get a life heathrowe and stop trolling the forums...
However if you want to grow up and would like this feature too please give it a thumbs up when I post in the feature request... I think this would be great added functionality... It would give animators the ability to build complex animations and then just give a link to the site owner to have the animation play on the site... Animators could potentially then rent or lease animations to site owners and if site owners don't pay we could just change the link bring control back to us... I think this could be huge... But maybe I am wrong...

While using Safari in Lion, Safari wants to open each time with the last page used. How do I change it to open with the homepage?

When you close Safari use the Control key so you see Quit and close windows. I always close opened Safari windows before quitting. And I always get my homepage with I open Safari again.

How to turn off measurements when using the line tool

Hello. I'm sorry to trouble you with this small thing but its driving me nuts. I'm using a shared computer at a university and we just upgraded to CS6. When I use the line tool while making a mask a box pops up which measures the line's length and angle. I want to turn it off, and it blocks being able to see what I am trying to mask. I've tried looking this up online and in Photoshop help but I just don't know the correct terminolgy, i.e. what to call it, to find out how to turn it off. Thank you so much so much for any help!

That looks like the on-image displays that were added to photoshop cs6
You should be able to turn that off in Photoshop>Preferences>Interface>Show Transformation Values and set Never as the value.

How do you select all paragraphs using the same style in Pages 5.2?

I'm trying to find how to select all paragraphs using the same style in Pages 5.2 without any success. I writing a book and I need to able to adjust all my paragraph styles globally. I see how upgrade my paragraph style when I do something new, but not how to revert back to the orginal template.
For example, in my custom template for my book I have 12 font for a review questions paragraph style. I changed the font size for all this paragraph style to 18 font. Now I want to change it back to size 12 font. But I have this paragraph style at the top and bottom of my document. How to I select all of my review questions style so I can make the font change to all at the same time?
I just upgrade to Pages 5.2 from Pages '09.

How can you detect irregular edges using the IMAQ add on?

Im currently trying to use the IMAQ add-on for LabView to detect the edges of an irregular image. I have attached the image I am trying to detect the edges of. I have tried using everything in the "locate edges" sub-pannel (i.e.. imaq find edge, imaq find circular edge etc.) but none of them have yielded any favorable results. I think the "IMAQ edge tool 3 IV" might be what im trying to find however I don't understand how to get any usable data out of it.

Hi Dander,
I am not sure exactly what types of edges you are trying to acquire, but I used one of the examples from our Example Finder and was able to detect edges on your image. I will say that with the image that you are using, the edges are not very well defined, so you may not get a 100% accurate measurement. The example that I was using uses the IMAQ Edge Tool 3 VI and the example can be found by going in LabVIEW to Help>>Find Examples... From there, you will go to Toolkits and Modules>>Vision>>Functions>>Edge Detection Example.vi. After that, you will remove the build path function and input a path to the image. I hope this helps!

How do I type diacritics when using the Hebrew phonetic keyboard?

I have a Romanian keyboard layout and as I am currently learning Hebrew, I find it easier to remember where each letter is if I use the phonetic layout instead of the classic layout. My question is how do I use this layout to efficiently insert diacritics. I am currently using the character viewer but it's painfully slow. I tried to search for a tutorial but I can't seem to find one anywhere. Any help is highly appreciated.

I can't help with Hebrew, but perhaps it works the same as on the English keyboard. If you type opt+e you get an accent aigu highlighted in yellow. You can then type another character that would have have that accent (a, e, o, etc). The combined letter will be formed.

How do you navigate dialogue boxes using the tab key in Photoshop CS6 on Mac OS X Mavericks?

I know that seems really 101 and obvious, but I worked in Photoshop on a PC for many years, and using the tab key to navigate through every field/radial button/dropdown menu/etc. was never an issue. On the Mac OS X however, it only navigates through certain fields within a dialogue box. And before the guaranteed suggestion to change my Mac OS X Keyboard preferences to allow full keyboard access to "All Controls" instead of "Text Boxes and Lists Only", I have already tried this setting which did not resolve my issue.
Does/has anyone out there worked between both platforms and had this issue as well? I'm a Mac guy through and through, but I must say, this is the one thing that I think PC has a slight edge on. It's incredibly frustrating to have my keyboard workflow interrupted because I can't simply tab over to a certain field that is in a dialogue box which I'm currently working in...

Photoshop CS6 (13.0.6)
Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
Applies to all filetypes as the issue is regarding dialogue boxes and not files themselves.
No error message.
Normal use.
It works on PC, but not on Mac.
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Processor
8 GB of memory
719 GB of space available on my main HD
This has never worked in any version of Photoshop I have used on any version of Mac OS X, but has worked consistently on every version of Photoshop that I have used on every version of Windows I've used (up to Windows 7)
I hope this provides enough information to get the ball rolling on this. I fear that there is no answer that will resolve the issue, but before I throw in the towel, I figured it was worth trying this forum since my web searches have turned up absolutely nothing of help.

However, I appreciate your judgement and I am working on evaluating Safari vs FireFox vs Chrome. I've had some trouble using FireFox with

How to change embedding option when using the place command?

When I try to place any file to illustrator (latest version) its automatically embedded. Is there any way to change that so the file will be linked and not embedded?

Second go (I posted this an hour ago, or rather it failed to post for some or no reason):
Are you DoubleClicking the file? If you are, try just Clicking it.
If you are just Clicking it and it just embeds, something is wrong.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

How do you unlock fields when clearing the signature using the SignatureServcie?

I have a workflow built using Process Management and is available through Workspace. A claimant completes their expense report, digitally signs the form and submits it to their approver. The form is setup to lock a set of fields after signature. The approver then has the option to approve or disapprove the form. When they disapprove the workflow clears the digital signature using Clear Signature Field operation in the SignatureService and routes it back to the claimant. When the form is opened by the claimant the digital signature has been cleared as expected, but the fields are still locked. Is there an autoamted way to unlock them? Is this a service configuration issue or is there another service operation we need to call after clearing the signature?
We did try using Javascript to set the readonly property on the field with no luck. Any thoughts?
We are developing on ES3 and will be upgrading to ES4 in the next week.

How do you update playlists when using a network itunes folder ?

I am trying to use a Network storage drive to keep my itunes libary on,the two problems i have are that even though the network drive is selected the playlists don't seem to be saved to the drive when i make new ones and also when i reboot the mac it defaults back to the local itunes folder.

Yes, the files get bigger and take up more room.Will you notice a difference on Apple's earplugs, no...played through a home entertainment system is a different result. I have found the best sound and file size/hard drive space usage to be encoding music files in ACC 192 kbps.
