How do you close Adobe Reader Touch in Windows 8?

I'm fairly new to Windows 8 and perhaps there are some things that I'm not used to yet.  But I can't seem to find a way to exit out of this application once I've finished using it?  Any suggestions?

To close an app on the Windows 8 Metro interface, press the very top of the screen and swipe down gradually to the middle; the app will turn into a floating window; then drag it off the bottom of the screen.

When I have closed a PDF, how can I make Adobe Reader Touch remember where I left off?

    Hi,
Assuming that you have Reader 9.3.4 already installed on your machine, you can try the following to make Reader 9.3.4 as the default PDF opening application:
    1. Right click on any PDF on your system and click on the "Open With" Option in the context menu that appears. In case you get another submenu, click on Chose Program in that menu. (In case you do not see any "Open With" option, then hold down the Shift key and right click on the file)
    2. Click on Browse button in the dialog that appears, and select Reader 9. Make sure that you select the checkbox for "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
    3. Click on OK.
This will make Adobe Reader 9 as the default viewer for all PDFs on your system.

    Hi
To find your anchors again, spread your 2 fingers apart on screen to zoom the canvas out. You should be able to access the Fade anchors again! Hope this helps

  • I received an email containing pdf files. I am using Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8. File doesn't open

I received an email containing pdf files. I am using Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8. File doesn't open. I am a new user to Windows 8.

The full featured Reader for Windows 8 is Reader XI.
Reader Touch works in all Windows 8 systems BUT it is intended mainly for use in mobile tablets - I see no particular reason to use it unless you can'r run Reader XI. Given it is mainly for use on mobile that can't use Flash, we aren't likely to ever see the development team spending their time on this.
If you want the latest and greatest - at least try Reader XI, not X! (Flash is a separate download, it will prompt).

  • Is Adobe Reader Touch (using windows 8) supposed to be able to edit pdfs, or just view them? Please help!

    Hi Community,
I cannot edit pdfs using Adobe Reader Touch. Going out of my mind. My Windows 8 laptop can barely save them, never mind edit them.
Or is Adobe Reader Touch only able to read them? Is it a cheaper version installed in the laptop to keep the laptop prices down?
If it can edit pdfs please tell me how!!
    Thanks for any advice.

    Hello gregorhughes,
Thanks for using Adobe Reader Touch.
Adobe Reader Touch App is a PDF viewer app with editing functionality restricted to saving the PDF after commenting or PDF forms filling.
    Commenting includes:
        > Adding Sticky Note
        > Highlighting text
        > Strikethrough text
        > Underline text
For more PDF editing and lot more value added features for PDF related workflows, you can try Acrobat desktop version. Try at this link for Acrobat Pro XI or Acrobat Standard

  • Adobe reader touch for windows 8

How do I delete a downloaded pdf document

You can go to your Windows 8 desktop, find the PDF document in Microsoft File Explorer, and delete it.  You do not need Adobe Reader Touch to delete files.

  • Does Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8 support forms with auto calculation?

I'm using a preformatted form that contains auto calculations.  When I use it on Adobe reader 11 on my laptop, it works.  However, when I use the Adobe reader app for windows eight the auto calculations do not work.   Is there anything I Can do?

Adobe Reader Touch (Windows Store app with "Modern" UI) does not support JavaScript yet.   Thus, auto calculations or field formatting will not work.
If your operating system is Windows 8/8.1 (Pro), not Windows RT, you can install and run Adobe Reader XI (desktop app with classic UI).
If your operating system is Windows RT, you may want to try Microsoft Reader (the built-in PDF viewer by Microsoft) to see if auto calculations work.

  • How can I print from Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8?

I need to print information from my dropbox that is a .pdf format.  How can I print from ART for Windows8? I can't find the print icon nor does a right click give me the option to print.  I'm using a laptop, not a tablet. (And not loving Windows 8!)

Please see FAQ: Printing a PDF file in Windows 8.
If you are running Windows 8 on a laptop with an Intel-based processor, you can install Adobe Reader XI (desktop app with classic UI) alternatively.
Go to your Windows 8 desktop.
Go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ in your browser.
Download and install Adobe Reader XI.
Launch Adobe Reader XI and open a PDF file.
Select File > Print from the menu.

  • How can you disable Adobe Reader from opening a file right after you save it as a pdf?

    Hi,
I often save word files as pdf files and right after I save them as pdfs it opens the file in adobe reader. How can I disable this?
    Thanks

Ahh, but that's the design function of any PDF viewer add-on to a browser.
To avoid -- Use the browser feature that saves a file to the local machine.
Then open the file with the appropriate application.
If your machine/device does not support this then you'd want to change to one that supports what you want eh.
    Be well...

  • How do you launch adobe reader

How do you repair a .dmg file and launch adobe reader?

You shouldn't be running Reader from a DMG file.
You should ONLY run it from your Applications folder.

  • How do you make Adobe Reader 9.3 truly Distributable?

I have a set of electronic minutes in PDF format with hyperlinks between files, bookmarks and other nice navigational features.  I need to distribute these minutes on CD to my customer with a distributable version of Adobe Reader 9.3 so that they can view the files.  We use an autorun file that runs Reader off the CD and opens the main file.  I have downloaded Adobe Reader 9.3 from the "Distributable Version" (for CDs) link provided by Adobe when I requested a license to distribute Adobe Reader on my CDs.  My customer is not connected to the internet and has to jump through all sorts of hoops to install Adobe Reader on their PCs.
My problem is that our PDF files on the CD do not navigate correctly between the different files we have while running the Adobe Reader installed on the CD.  If we run the files in Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0 installed directly on the PC, they work beautifully.  If we run the files using Adobe Reader 9.2 or 9.3 installed directly on the PC, they work beautifully.  We have found that the Reader running off the CD will not correctly navigate these same files, unless Reader 9.2 or higher is actually installed on the PC running the CD.  This is a problem!  I'm guessing there are files installed elsewhere that are not contained on the CD version and thus the CD version of the Reader does not run correctly.
Is there a way to force ALL the files required by Adobe Reader 9.3 to install into the same folder so that ALL the files can then be loaded onto a CD for distribution with our PDF files?
Please note:  We have been providing CDs with Adobe Acrobat on them to run our Minutes automatically for several years now.  So this used to work very well.  The newest distributable version of Adobe Reader is not Behaving like the older versions and appears to require some number of files not contained on the CD.
