How do you configure wmii using c++?
Hi, sorry for this newb question, but I searched online on google and I get nothing about this. I only see things about wmii and configuring it with Ruby.
According to this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … w_Managers wmii can be configured by almost anything, and since it's written in C, I should be able to write the configuration file in c++, right? If not, please kindly say no and if possible, direct me to a tiling window manager that CAN be configured using c++. I don't have the time to learn a new language.
Thanks.
Look at the wmii topic in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wmii. At the end you will see a bunch of "See Also" entries. One of them is the wmii user guide, and another is the wmii web site, with a link to their user group.

Very simple question, how do you configure windows 8.1 to use a SD card / external drive as the default install location for software applications? Primarily interested in apps installed from the windows store. This should be available in the settings
charm within the windows store. This must have been overlooked in the development of windows 8.1 or is a bug.

The registry method does not work with 8.1. I found this out the hard way. Doing it on 8.1 will leave you reinstalling the OS if you didn't do a SRP beforehand. -

How do you configure 8.1.7 NT/IFS 1.1 to use Apache for IFS?
Now that the 8.1.7 version for NT and IFS 1.1 is out how do you configure it to use Apache for IFS?
There is no 'ifsapachesetup' file included in the download (the CDs are still not available).
Installed 8.1.7 database on a clean (no oracle) PC running NT server 4.0 sp4.
Installed IFS 1.1 download using default selections except I unchecked the JWS option.
The database works fine and the IFS agents appear to be operating properly.
IFSMGR batch file works fine but how do you access the webui? Have tried ports 80, 8080, 7777, 7070, 100 and nothing works.
nullHanne ....Greetings. The Apache HTTP server is up and running. Even better, my users can get to it! The URL issue, I think, really put a damper on what was otherwise a pretty clean install. Specifically, on page 9-9 of the Oracle Internet File System Release 1.1 Setup and Administration Guide; Part No. A81197-04, 1-Sep-00, that I downloaded from technet.oracle.com, the ifsapachesetup.exe reference, the port 7777 reference and then the invalid URL sent me round and round for awhile. When I saw Rick Post's post on the iFS Forum and then Brian Ball's response, I knew there was something incomplete about the documentation. When I figured out which parts of the 'system' need to be running, I saw that the /ifs/files URL would work if Apache and ifs were up, and it did.
Also, I think the startup/shutdown of the OracleHTTPserver service vs the Start/Programs/oracle_home/Oracle HTTP server/Start....Stop could be clarified a little more. I did find out that you could accidently shut down the Apache server by closing the NT application window it runs in, whereas, starting HTTPserver from the services Services eliminates this (this I think is in the documentation).
In short, I'm up and running. Neat product. Need an errata in the Release Notes or Installation Guide regarding this URL deal.
thanks

How do you configure a farm name in RDS 2012?
I understand Remote Desktop Services has undergo some drastric changes.
How do you configure a farm name in RDS 2012? Or is the concept around farm name changed in another concept?
Although I have imported a certificate on the RDCH withe the farm name I want to use. When I click on a RemoteApp on the RD Web Access portal, it does not connect to the right farm name.
Boudewijn Plomp, BPMi Infrastructure & SecurityYou don't. You create a collection. A client connects to the Connection Broker and then is redirected to the collection it is connecting to. The collection name is embedded in the connection file that the client downloads from RDWeb or
the RDWeb feed.
A collection is basically at least one RDSH server (for session based desktops) or one virtual machine (virtual machine based desktops).

Hi,
We have Oracle 10.2 and Windows 2003.
We have Oracle on Cluster (with Windows software).
When the System are without cluster all its OK!!!!!!
We have 2 Resources Cluster Group: Oracle and Applications.
We have Oracle in Oracle cluster group.
We have W Drive and a ftp program in Application cluster group.
We have C drive in both nodes. We have installed Oracle in both nodes but we have W drive only associate to the Active Node because is a Cluster resource (Application cluster group).
All days we receive text files by ftp and we put it on W Drive. This text files are readen with external tables in Oracle.
We have a problem when oracle fails and it goes to the another node (for ex. node2) because the external tables fail because the files are on Node1 on W Drive. If we move manually Applications cluster resource to Node2 then all it is OK.
We think to put UNC pathes instead of W but its not possible (Metalink: Note:290703.1)
How do you configure the server in this situation?????????????
Thanks!We run a similar configurations and i doubt you have a chance other then reconfigure your setup. The way we do it is to have an ftp client in our database group and periodically transfer the files a second time (not elegant but it's working).
If that's not an option you might be able to use unc names in your ftp server and set the ftp root to a directory hosted on a disk which is part of the database group.
Or move to unix (that's what we do now). Than you don't have to bounce your server once in a month to apply security patches... -
Re: How do you create and use "common" type classes?
Hi,
You have 2 potential solutions in your case :
1- Sub-class TextNullable class of Framework and add your methods in the
sub-class.
This is the way Domain class work. Only Nullable classes are sub-classable.
This is usefull for Data Dictionary.
The code will be located in any partition that uses or references the supplier
plan.
2- Put your add on code on a specific class and instanciate it in your user
classes (client or server).
You could also use interface for a better conception if needed. The code will
also be in any partition that uses or references the supplier plan where your
add on class is located.
If you don't want that code to be on each partition, you could use libraries :
configure as library the utility plan where is your add-on class.
You can find an example of the second case (using a QuickSort class,
GenericArray add-on) with the "QuickSort & List" sample on my personal site

type classes that you want to use through out your application? Ideally
what I want is a static class with static methods.
Let's say that I have a StringUtil class that has a bunch of methods for
manipulating strings.
My problem is that we have code that runs on the client and code that runs
on the server. Both areas could use the StringUtil class, but from what I
understand, I have to create StringUtil in a plan and then create a server
object of type StringUtil. The server object will eventually get assigned
to a partition. That's not good since I really want the server object to
physically reside at the server end and at the client end. (Actually, I
don't want a server object, I just want to invoke a static method of a
static class).
Any clues on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

Searchable thread archive <URL:http://pinehurst.sageit.com/listarchive/>Hi Richard,
Your question about "utility classes" brings up a number of issues, all of
which are important to long-term success with Forte.
There is no such thing as a static method (method that is associated with a
class but without an implicit object reference - this/self/me "pointer") in
TOOL, nor is there such thing as a global method (method not associated
with a class at all). This is in contrast to C++, which has both, and
Java, which has static methods, but not global classes. Frequently, Forte
developers will write code like this:
result, num : double;
// get initial value for num....
tmpDoubleData : DoubleData = new;
tmpDoubleData.DoubleValue = num;
result = tmpDoubleData.Sqrt().DoubleValue;
tmpDoubleData = NIL; // send a hint to the garbage collector
in places where a C++ programmer would write:
double result, num;
// get initial value for num....
result = Math::Sqrt(num);
or a Java programmer would write:
double result, num;
// get initial value for num....
result = Math.sqrt(num);
The result of this is that you end up allocating an extra object now and
then. In practice, this is not a big deal memory-wise. If you have a
server that is getting a lot of hits, or if you are doing some intense
processing, then you could pre-allocate and reuse the data object. Note
that optimization has its own issues, so you should start by allocating
only when you need the object.
If you are looking for a StringUtil class, then you will want to use an
instance of TextData or TextNullable. If you are looking to add methods,
you could subclass from TextNullable, and add methods. Note that you will
still have to instantiate an object and call methods on that object.
The next issue you raise is where the object resides. As long as you do
not have an anchored object, you will always have a copy of an object on a
partition. If you do not pass the object in a call to another partition,
the object never leaves. If you pass the object to another partition, then
the other partition will have its own copy of the object. This means that
the client and the server will have their own copies, which is the effect
you are looking for.
Some developers new to Forte will try to get around the lack of global
methods in TOOL by creating a user-visible service object and then calling
methods on it. If you have a general utility, like string handling, this
is a bad idea, since a service object can reside only on a single
partition.
Summary:
* You may find everything you want in TextData.
* Unless you anchor the object, the instance will reside where you
intuitively expect it.
* To patch over the lack of static methods in TOOL, simply allocate an
instance when required.
Feel free to email me if you have more questions on this.

How do you configure the default Webserver and AppEX in XE(windows)?
I'm new to XE but an old hat with Oracle Standard and Enterprise editions, Apache and AppEx (htmldb).
What is the default webserver that comes with XE(windows) and how do you configure it? Where are the httpd config files?
Also I read in the doco that you need to use Apache if you want to use https. Is there any doco on how to configure XE with Apache?
Also with respect to AppEx

How do you configure spaces in Lion?
OK, I've found most of what I need to configure Lion but I can't find the preference panel to change the 'all spaces' view to the old style (where you see all the spaces or desktops placed on the screen in equal sizes). The new default 'mission control' view isn't as useful to me. I also don't see where to assign apps to a specific space. Finally, how do you get at the 'spaces' option for a hot corner? Where has all this moved?
Obviously it's grown into the mission control feature... I don't care what the terms are now, I just want to know where the controls moved to.
OK, let's try this:
How do you configure mission control to display spaces in the old tiled format? Or whatever you call spaces/desktops now. For example, the 6 spaces I was using are still there. Apps still open where they were set to (go migration assistant!). Where do you get at the settings for this stuff now? -
trying to install airport 5.6 to configure old UFO airport but doesn't show up in the app utility folder. How do you configure older Airports in OS X 10.7.5??
David Why? wrote:
... How do you configure older Airports in OS X 10.7.5??
Use the technique described in this thread: I can't install airport utility 5.6
Though it discusses Mountain Lion, you need to follow the exact same steps for OS X 10.7.5.
I no longer have any original AEBSs to test. You may need an even earlier version of AirPort Utility. If AirPort Utility 5.6 cannot configure yours, let me know and I will attempt to find the correct version for you. You will need to use the same "extraction" technique described above.
Edit: If 5.6 does not work try this one: AirPort Utility 5.5.3
Important: If you elect to drag that version to your Utilities folder, be sure to give it a unique name. I suggest "AirPort Utility 5.5.3" This is not necessary for AirPort Utility 5.6, which will retain that name on its own. -
How do you configure Enterprise Server to allow WiFi retrieval of email when in WiFi Area
We have an Enterprise Server and WiFi in offices and homes and lots of free WiFi on our travels. How do you configure the phones/enterprise server to allow this? I cant see any easy option??
Llessur999 wrote:
That is a reasonable approach. Without changing network configuration, I don't see an alternative. A few considerations:
Based on your experience, will the length of time to detect unreachability (a network timeout?) cause a usability issue?
Must you support a scenario where a user transitions LAN-to-WAN or WAN-to-LAN while using the app?
If this is used by a wide audience, will configuring the primary/fallback be straightforward?
I don't think there's a usability issue.
Yes. The app is designed for a brick/mortor location that essentially wants to drive the user to the location. The user has to ability to interact with specific hardware components at the location via server/port communications - some of which they can do while they are remote. While they are on location, they need to retain that ability to interact with local equipment even more. Users could be asked to not go on the location wifi of course but that just seems silly and an overall bad user experience.
The primary/fallback configuration should all be done within code (no user interaction). For example the WAN IP will always be X.X.X.X (be it Public IP or dyndns - makes no difference), while the LAN configuration will always know that the lan server it needs to communicate will always be at a specific LAN IP (192.168.x.x).
It would be godsend to have some sort of API call (or class) that can accept a call to CFStreamCreatePairWithSocketToHost to a specific IP and on seeing that it's unreachable automatically try the secondary IP before returning a failure on the stream. -

How do you configure AME CS5.5 to overwrite existing output files?
How do you configure AME CS5.5 to overwrite existing output files? So far the only options I have found are to increment the output file name or fail. From the explaination of file increment I would have expected overwrite to be the alternative. We work daily with the same file(s) on an hourly basis and convert via watch folder to over a dozen file types and network mapped destinations. Re-using the same file name is critical to the final project (updating website content). Does anyone have any suggestions?
Has there been any updates on overwriting output files in CS6? This would be extremely helpful.
