How do you connect a Mac to an EAP-FAST wireless network?

Although this guy doesn't seem to like it much:
http://www.lanarchitect.net/Articles/Wireless/EAP-FAST/
my company is deploying EAP-FAST according to this spec:
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-cam-winget-eap-fast-03.txt
And some additiona info:
http://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=369223&seqNum=5&rl=1
Anyone know of any third-party options?
Otherwise I'll have to buy a long ethernet cable.
1.5 Ghz PB   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

To add to John's comment, I think there are about 1500 of us affected by not having EAP-FAST as an option on our PowerBooks/MacBook Pros at the office. It'd be great to have Apple add support for EAP-FAST to the Airport but failing that a decent third-party option will have to suffice.

  • How do I connect my mac book pro to a wireless LCD

I want to connect my Macbook Pro to a wireless LCD projector. I am not sure how to do it. Do I need to download software? Do I have the hardware I need?

Wireless capabilities — via the optional wireless module with either the included software (Mac and PC) or an optional Quick Wireless Connection USB key (PC only) for fast, ad hoc wireless connectivity
The above is from Epson's web-site: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Product.do?sku=V11H387020&BV_UseBVCookie= yes
Do you have the optional wireless module?  Have you installed the included software on your Mac?  Have you looked at the instruction booklet or manual that came with the projector?  If you don't have it you can download it from here:  http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid= 175824&prodoid=63090166&infoType=Doc

  • How do you connect a Mac and PC to the internet?

I have a high speed internet cable modem and wish to grant simultaneous access to the internet for both my G5 and PC. I purchased a router and tried to network through that, but it did not work. I am considering trying a wireless router -will this work?
Is it even possible to route a Mac and PC to the same cable modem?

Yes, it is possible. How easy it is depends on your ISP.
Some cable ISP providers program your cable modem to talk to no machine other than the one with which you 'registered' with them. That is, the machine the modem was connected to when internet service was installed.
Remove that machine and connect another, no internet.
If thats the case, then you get around it by whats called MAC address cloning. In the advanced router setup, there should be a tab for that very action. Go there, then enter the MAC address of your primary machine.
(You may also have to set DNS and domain names in the basic router setup.)
I know the Linksys web site provides detailed instructions for configuring their routers for a couple of large ISPs.

  • How do you connect AX as a remote to AE/WPA network?

When configuring my AX as a remote for my AE configured with WPA the AX blinks amber and does not find the network. All firmware is the latest version. Any ideas appreciated?
    Thanks
Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Wireless Airport

Does the device have its own power supply?
It appears the TB-FW adapter does not supply the amount of current as per the FW standard, so it may fail to power up buspowered devices.

  • Connecting a macbook pro to a verizon wireless network

how do i connect a macbook pro to a verizon wireless network? Wi-Fi connection automatically assigns an IP address and indicates that the Mac won't be able to connect to the internet. Two other MacBook Pros connect to the network without any problems. These Macs travel from home to school and back again and automatically reconnect when they are brought into the house.

I have read a few corporate IT policies and they are all PC-centric.
Unless your mac runs any windows tools such as Bootcamp Wine, Crossover, or a VM in parallels or VMware then your mac has no virus implications.
A few years ago word documents could be infected with macro viruses and although did not affect a mac a mac could pass them on. Up to date versions of Microsoft Word documents are not vulnerable to this flaw.
You could install ClamAV its a free anti virus app for the mac that would keep your IT dept happy.
Maybe I can find out what the WEP key is with a utility of some kind.
If you had a compatible usb wifi dongle and kismac you could crack their WEP key but this would be probably illegal in your country so I dont condone this activity but if you got written permission from your employer to give them a free penetration test, something that normally involves hiring a security company this would save them money and highlight the insecurity on their network.
    Or use an Ethernet connection.

  • How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through  HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.

I do not know the iWire adapter, but I use an inexpensive ($3) DVI to HDMI adapter from Monoprice, along with a regular HDMI cable:
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041902 &p_id=2029&seq=1&format=2
Be aware that this will only transfer video. You Macbook Pro cannot combine audio through DVI to HDMI. You will need to listen to the audio through the Mac speakers, or attach speakers or a sound system to the Mac earphone jack, or determine if your TV has the ability to accept external sound from the Mac while showing video through HDMI (few can).

Normally, you just connect the monitor to the MacBook using a VGA adaptor that you can buy from an Apple Store.  Now try System Preferences > Displays > Detect Displays.  You should now be able to select a display mode for the monitor.  If it still doesn't work, then I'd check that everything is properly connected.  I've had problems with colours disappearing due to a faulty connection in the VGA adaptor.

How do you connect a microphone to the Mac?  I'm trying to record vocals onto Garage Band.  I tried to use an adapter (XLR to MONO 3.5 mm) to connect directly to the port on the side of the MacBook Pro.

I prefer USB mics - a really cool and nice one that I used to have was the Blue Snowball, available at Amazon for a great price. It got lost in a move but I intend on getting another.

How do you connect your iphone to a mac so the calender gets updated wirelessly?

If you mean using iCloud, you go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign in with your Apple ID to create your account, then turn Calendars (and anything else you want to sync with iCloud) on.  Then on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud sign in with your iCloud ID and check Calendars (and anything else you want to sync with iCloud).
This requires iOS 5 or higher on your phone and OS X 10.7.5 or higher on your Mac.

Go to your "screen settings". then chose "find screen" then you vill find the prosjector.
this will probably fix your problem.
if this dont works can it be something wrong with your adapter.
    hope it helps

How can I connect my mac book pro to the HD TV to watch my videos on the TV?

Depending on what model of Macbook Pro you have, you can either wirelessly mirror your computer's monitor (using AirPlay, so an AppleTV is required.) You can also buy and HDMI cable and special adaptor for your Macbook Pro so you can wire your Macbook Pro to your TV via HDMI cable.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/HA824ZM/A/belkin-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-adap ter
This is an example of the adapter you might have to buy. The cable/adapter depends on your Macbook Pro model.

  • How do you add a MAC address to air port so it will recognize a Nest thermostat

How do you add a MAC address to anAir Port

In a v5 utility it looks different to a v6 utility.. and you should not be using MAC restrictions anyway, unless you have time controls. MAC filtering is not adequate security.
There are only two options Timed Access or Radius.. you cannot use Radius without a Radius authentication server.
Clcik the + symbol and add the MAC address.
Make sure the time limits are not restricted if you want permanent access.
BUT this is just the wrong way to do things. Use proper security WPA or WPA2 with a password. not MAC filters which are next to useless.
If you have issues getting your NEST to connect to the Airport, set the wireless name to correct SMB standard. That means short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. The current name is probably not compliant to SMB network standards hence the NEST cannot connect.
