How do you control the track pad?

The track pad seems to have a mind of its own after Lion installation. Seems to copy everything it crosses over. Is there a way to have it behave like it did in the Snow Leopard?

They are working now that I fixed something that I have no recollection that I altered in the first place, nor do I now know what in heaven’s name I fixed this time. All I know is that I must have gone to setting a million and one times and the last time was the one I did something right.

When people call me, Skype rings far to many times before voice mail comes on. How do you reduce the number of rings on an inbound call, so that voice mail comes on in 4 to 5 rings?

Skype does not determine when to send calls to voice mail by the number of rings, but instead by the amount of time that has elapsed. Check your settings (in Windows, it would be Tools -> Options -> Calls -> Voice Messages -> Start recording a voice message if ... Remember to Save your changes!

How can you control the order of video tracks?

I have an iDVD project with an intro movie (movie played when the disc is first inserted), 5 20 minutes videos (each of which is an individual iMovie project with chapter markers, but the videos are meant to be watched in order 1, 2, 3, 4, then 5), and an addition 5 minute video. When I created the disk image, I noticed it started encoding the last of the 20 minute videos and then seemed to encode the rest of the videos in random order.
I burned the disk image to DVD and started watching it in my DVD player. When you watch the first 20 minute video, when it finishes you return to the menu so you can choose the second 20 minute video. But, if you scene skip through a 20 minute video on the last scene, it takes you to the next track. The problem is the tracks are all in random order. So instead of scene skipping to the next 20 minute video, it takes me to the intro video, then to 20 minute video, ect. It's all out of order.
My question is does anyone know how to control track order? Is the track order the order in which the videos are encoded? (It seems to that is the case.) I tried inserting the videos into the iDVD project in the order I wanted them, but I don't know if that will work or not. The assets all appear in random order in the Project Info window.

I would like to know also. I have made many DVDs, but the number order does seem to be random. For presentation purposes I want to play a specific clip by hitting it's corresponding number on the DVD player remote when the DVD is at a complete stop (so if I put the movie clip in the 2 spot and hit the number 2 on the remote, then the 2 movie clip will play). I can get this to work from the menu by dropping them in iDVD in the order I want and waiting for each to encode before dropping the next, but at a complete stop I cannot ensure number 2 on the remote will play number 2 on the DVD. To me it looks like iDVD gives those numbers in the order in which the audio is encoded when burning, with the shorter clips first and longer ones last.
Can anyone help me?

I have about eight tracks of audio in my Finalcut timeline. When played, sometimes the music track will be much louder than the narration track or the FXs track will be louder than the all tracks.
How do I lower or raise the volume of tracks so that the track that needs to heard is heard.
I dont want to do an all out mix yet. I'm just building tracks

Select all of your audio, go to the Modify > Audio > Apply Audio Normalization. It will bring all clips in each track to be the same level. Then, later, you can do your final mix much easier.
Or go to Window > Arrange > Audio Mixing and you'll have an on-screen mixing board to work with. There's a speaker icon in the top right, green keyframing is on while you mix in realtime during playback, gray, keyframing is off.
But use the first method first, for sure. Open the audio mixer after that, you'll save yourself a ton of work and time.

What model HP printer do you have?
ePrint is a very simple system when it comes to printing, because it doesn't provide as many controls as one may be used to with a computer. Many of the photosmart printers are designed to recognize a photo in ePrint and print the image to the proper photo paper.

How do you control the kind of TLS alerts sent by JSSE?

I am working on an application which does certificate path validation that needs to plug into the JSSE framework. So, I have implemented my own X509TrustManager which implement the 'checkClientTrusted' and 'checkServerTrusted' methods such that when the application's certificate path validation fails, it throws a CertificateException as desired by the method signature. Also, CertificateException has four subclasses: CertificateEncodingException, CertificateExpiredException, CertificateNotYetValidException and CertificateParsingException. The subclass of CertificateException that you throw on certificate path validation failure makes JSSE send a relevant TLS alert to the SSL negotiating peer. HOWEVER, the subclasses of CertificateException don't include anything to send many important TLS alerts like certificate_revoked, unsupported_certificate and many more. How can you make JSSE send these alerts in this case?

There is no code in JSSE to send any of those alerts. If you throw any CertificateException from those methods it will always send an alert_certificate_unknown.

How do you change the track volume so that it moves with your project?

I understand you can change track volume for a given track (by hitting the down arrow and fade it up and down). BUT then if you move that track - the track volume stays where it is so your volumes then get all messed up - any solutions?

How Do You Control the Order That Menu Items Are Selected

I am using iDVD 6 with the Portfolio Theme (iDVD 5). I created a project with one 15-minutes iMovie project and seven slideshows (created in iDVD).
In Preview mode (or with the final) DVD, the order that entries on the main menu are selected does not seem to follow a logical pattern. As I try to advance using the right cursor, the second item (horizontally) is skipped. (I have two rows, each with four items). When I have one of the other three items in that row selected, the second item is selected if I hit the down arrow.
In 'flowchart view' the eight items are in the order I want them to be selected. That is, the item that is being skipped is in the second position on the flowchart.
Any insight on this would be appreciated.

I created an iMovie and then exported to iDVD, iDVD used the same sequence as the iMovie. When you build you Movie or slide show it follows the sequence that you place them in the time line. I have a Slide Show movie with video clips in the time line all of the shows and clips play in the order that I placed them. When you move through the menu use the right arrow to move accross the menu and the down arrow to move down to the next row. There is an button to move to the next menu. I have 13 chapters in my iDVD and they appear on 3 menus. Each menu shows 6 buttons you can edit the button titles and reposition them if you deselect the snap to grid and select the other option. When I open my project after exporting the titles overlayed each other. The buttons picted up my iMovie titles so I had to fix them and reduce the type size and move the buttons to separate them. The time line sets the order and the arrow keys move throgh the buttons on you Mac screen you can select with the mouse by clicking the button. On a DVD player you are stuck with the arrows and enter keys on the remote. You may have a glitch in your data check the time line along bottom of your original to see if the chapter markers are in position.

To stay in licensing compliance, we control who has access to Adobe Acrobat by using Active Directory for our Citrix users. This works for the actual program, but how do I make it so the Acrobat tab, in Office programs, doesn't even show up for those who aren't in the security group (as of now, it shows up but they can't click on anything inside of it without getting errors). What about the options in the right click context menu? I don't want non-acrobat users to be able to see the option "Combine Files in Acrobat" when they right click on a file.

How do you control the Subject Line in emails sent from RS_PREC_PLAN?

We are using the program RS_PREC_PLAN to broadcast precalculated workbooks from a process chain. We have entered values for each parameter (i.e. Precalc server, workbook, web template, and email addresses) and saved as a variant.
However, each time the program is called from the process chain the email recipient gets an email with "Test" as the subject line. Is there any way to control what is displayed in the subject line of the email?

Looks like the subject is hardcoded...
you can find the same in

what you could do is create a copy of the same program and look at passing the subject to the program...

In adobe muse, how do you control the replyto address for a form?

I'm creating a website for a client, and when I created an email form, it shows up in the recipient's mailbox as from me, or rather my Adobe ID's registered email. How can I make this a different reply-to address?

If you're using FTP upload, then Muse generates PHP files for your form.
The Muse PHP form files set the email 'from' address to the same email address as you specify in the 'to' option for the form.
This is done because some hosting providers refused to deliver email from somesite.com unless the from address is [email protected] (because it's more likely to be spam).
So Muse uses the same email address in the 'from' and 'to' line because it makes it more likely that the form emails will actually make it to you(or your client).
Note that the email 'reply-to' header is filled in with the email address entered by whoever filled out the form, so you can hit 'reply' in your email software to reply to the form submitter.
In the future we may add the ability to specify the 'from' email, but Muse doesn't have that feature yet.
