I bought a new MacBook Pro with OsX Lion as operating system. I use iPhoto a lot and when I tried copying a photo then pasting it to another event/group, the 'paste' feature doesn't work. This wasn't the case with Leopard and Snow Leopard where the 'paste' feature worked. What I did was to paste the photo first to the desktop before transferring it to the new event/group. I brought my Mac to the Apple store where I bought it and the technicians were themselves surprised that the 'paste' feature didn't work. Chalked it up to glitches in the Lion os. So how do we fix this? I just find it absurd that a feature that used to work in Snow Leopard has been disabled in Lion, and the user still has to undergo an additional step to make it work, when new technology is supposed to make things easier for users.
Also, hasn't anyone noticed that it takes longer for the computer to boot upon opening?Instead of copy and paste drag the photo to the new event. Or flag it and use the add flagged photos to selected event command

then something is wrong - drag and drop between albums should work. Itb is working for me without a problem. While viewing an album, select the photos inside that you want to include anither album and drag them to that album in the sidebar of the Source List like this:

You need to transfer the data from your old computer to your new computer. Surely you have a backup of your old laptop. Use this and move your data to your new laptop.

Why when I copy a cell and paste into another it pastes into the middle of three cells? I was very fond of using numbers as it was straightforward and much better than Excel. But I made the mistake of installing Mavericks and Numbers 3.0. Now it is worse than Word at doing what it thinks it wants to do rather than what you want to do. I can no longer copy a cell and paste it into another. For some reason on pasting, instead of pasting into just one other cell it pastes into the middle of three cells - what the ****?

I had the same problem - copy a cell - paste into another cell and it created three vertical cells with the pasted data in the middle
Definitely a problem between CopyPaste Pro - one of the most useful aps on my Mac for the last many years
Once I quit CopyPaste Pro - no problem with pasting in Numbers 3.0
But I use CopyPaste Pro all the time

When I highlight a picture and duplicated it I click on the duplicate picture and drag it into my other event however it takes the original and the duplicate pictures into the new event and I lose the pictures from the original event. All I want is the same picture in separate events. This is really frustrating me can somebody please help me with this.At this time, to the best of my knowledge you can't. Use QuickTime 7 Player which should be in your Utilities folder (if not, it can be installed using the Optional Installs on your Snow Leopard install disk).

Here's a little gotcha. Let's say you've color corrected a few clips and you've applied an effect to one and want to paste it the other clips. You switch off color correction and copy the clip. You select the other clips and paste effects. What do you think happens? It's because of the extension of the hard drive is a Windows extension ( most likely MSDOS or Ex-FAT), meaning you can only read but not write. If there are no important files (or you can copy the whole thing to your computer/mac) you can just reformat the hard drive and change the extension to NTFS (readable and writable on both windows and mac) or Mac OS Extended (readable and writable on Mac, readable on windows).
Go to DISK UTILITY
Choose the Hard Disk you intended
ERASE
You can choose either

Forgot to add that it would be an adjustment layer with some kind of mask on it already. The mask is uncentered when copy and pasted which throws it off.
