Dreameaver can't create something like that out of the box, you need to use some type of script for the 'scrolling' to work.

How do you change default search engine?

Want to use something other that Google. Is this not possible? Anyone know a terminal hack or command that might enable me to substitute bing or acid search or something else?

No terminal command but you could try Glims. Lot's of great features and many search engine options.

I know I did this a while back using dreamweaver and cannot figure out how I did it. I feel like I copy and pasted some html stuff into my site and it created itself. I am trying to download e-print (Print what you want) and I keep getting a message saying I must uninstall the current Bing Search Engine. Actually, I never downloaded Bing. It just appeared. Create a Search Engine

I would like to know how to create a search engine in the report section. For an example, if a list of names display, I want the user to be able to find a name without going down the list. In another words, just type a name (last, first), once the name is found, the name will be display on the screen automatically.

You're correct - that whitepaper is specific to the HTML DB 1.5 documentation. The online help file names changed in 1.6, so it's out of date.
What you did to generate this file is fine, at least for purposes of this example. You'll find that many titles are duplicated, and ultimately, it's the text in most of the <h1> tags that you want. There is a file called doc_map.xml, which you could consider transforming to whatever you need.
Your request to "zoom in" is ultimately a request to crawl the documents. Oracle Text does not automagically crawl documents, but as you probably guessed, you could always build something to do that (or use Oracle UltraSearch/Enterprise Search). There's some demonstration code on the Text site on OTN (http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/text/index.html), but I've personally never examined it.

Clarification:
I believe now you potentially lose all extensions, plug-ins when you use the new reset function, but you will let me know.
If that is the case, your find corrupt file method maybe better. However, I reviewed the two help articles and there appear to be more files than just the delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder. I am confused. Then I have to find the folders. I think help articles mentioned how to find the profile containing the files, but not sure.

In FF4 the opensearch detection does not seem to work. how can I add a search engine , that has an opensearch xml but no plugin?

if you go to a webpage with an opensearch link tag like "<link rel="search" type="application/opensearchdescription+xml...." FF3.x highlighted the small arrow left of the search box and you could add the search engine. this does not seem to work in FF4.

You do not get the blue glow on the search engine icon in Firefox 4, but you should still see the "Add ... site" entry in the menu if you click the search engines icon on the Navigation Toolbar.

Do you mean the search engine that is used in the location bar?
You can modify the pref keyword.URL on the about:config page to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" or Google's "Browse By Name".

Easiest way to change the search is to install 3rd party freeware Inquisitor. After installing it, restart Safari. Go to Safari Preferences. Click on the arrow at the far end of the menu panel. You'll see an hour-glass icon. Click on it to open the Inquisitor panel. Click on the search engine drop-down menu and select your preferred search engine.

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
You can do a search on the about:config page for prefs that are referring to the White smoke server/domain and reset them via the right-click context menu.

You can create Master Inspection Characteristics ( MIC ) with T-code QS21 or use this path
SAP Menu-LogisticsQuality ManagementQuality PlanningBasic DataInspection Characteristics--Create(QS21)
1.Goto T-code QS21
2.Enter Plant & desired code for MIC,then Enter.
3. Here tick for Quantitative Characteristic or Qualitative Characteristic.
4.Maintain control Indicator,catalog,Inspection method,Status,short text,search field.
Then Assign MIC in inspection plan.

I can't offer you any links, although you could probably find some on sourceforge, if you wanted to. The danger with looking at other people's code on a degree project is that if you even take ideas from it it can constitute plagiarism- be very careful.
Java is appropriate for the kind of application you are describing but you will definitely want to look at using Regular expressions (good tutorial over at http://www.javaworld.com - this is a good place to look generally if you want to learn about features of the language.
You wouldn't have to use XML but you would definitely need to separate logic and display so you will need to handle java code. You will also need a jsp server to run the pages (tomcat is the standard one) and so on.
