Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a thought bubble with video playing inside it using premiere. I'm trying to create a video for an assignment and i want it to start off with someone dreaming and have the thought bubble pop up with their dream then have it fade into that. My teacher told me i won't be able to do it so i kinda want to prove him wrong and shove it in his face . i'd looovvvveeeeee and appreciate if someone can help me!

How do I create/host interactive articles with embedded video for use in browsers?
The aim is to bring together video, design, images and writing in one place. A little like Born Presents, but very accessible and user friendly.
I'm happy using InDesign but want to create interactive articles / magazines that have embeded video files as required. I've been looking at .SWF files but I've come unstuck.
I want people to view the articles via a blog, ideally with them opening in a lightbox style viewer. It's not intended for tablet viewing and people should be able to view and interact with the files with little effort on their part.
I think I know how to create these files within InDesign, but I'm not so hot on web design and I'm not sure how to host these online. Does this start coming into the realms of Flash?

PDF is one thing. Folios for DPS is another. There is a little bit of
overlap but not much.
The interactivity in the folio overlays panel is for DPS only.

So, basically, if you understood all of that, and maybe already knew all of that, then you can use the color channel to see more deeply into the effect by looking at the details of the image through the lens of the color channel.

How do you create a swimming timer with milliseconds

Does anyone know how to create a swim timer in milliseconds in Adobe Premiere Pro?
If you've watched olympic swimming, you've seen the swim timers on the bottom right. I'd like to recreate this in Premiere Pro, showing MM:SS:Milliseconds. (1:25.78).
I've tried several techniques, but I can't get the milliseconds correct!!
Here's what I've tried.My media is 29fps.
1. Create a blank Transparent Video
2. Add a the "timecode" effect ot the video.
3. Select the preferences -> show audio time units in the display.
4. for the Time Display in the time code I used 30 Non-Drop Frame.

This will show correct up to the seconds, but the format for the last is the frame # (up to 30).
While I've tried changing it to 60 Non-Drop Frames, it only goes up to 60 (again # of frames). How do you get milliseconds?

Yes. The finish is measured in milliseconds. But there are only 29.97, or maybe 59.94 frames per second in video. So getting to the correct millisecond will be impossible except with great luck.
In fact, you have probably noticed that you can see the hand about to touch, and see it touching, but not all that often will you see the exact moment it touches.
So, if you want to create a timer yourself, you can do that, and cheat by using titles to create your numbers. You can make it look like your timer is correct. But it won't be.
If you want to create 60 different titles to use to cover up the frames portion of the timecode, the first is 00, then 17, then 33, 50, 67, and keep going... As you can see when you divide 1000 by 60, the real numbers are 16.6667 and 33.33333 but that is just not worth worrying about, I suppose.

How do you add 5th and 6th e-sata hard drives INSIDE a Mac Pro?

My Mac Pro 3 GHz 4 core has 4 internal e-sata drives. I would like to add a 5th and 6th drive using the two extra e-sata connections inside the Mac Pro. These can be piped outside using a NewerTechnology cable making it possible to add two extra e-sata drives.
However, I am finding this unreliable. Often the drives fail to show up on the desktop and it seems that the cables and extra connectors are the likely problem. Does anyone make something that will hold an extra 1 or 2 drives inside the MacPro and make use of the two extra e-sata connections?

I also use the extension cable to a socket plate on the rear of the Mac Pro to add an additional external SATA drive.
The system works great
however
The external drives are lost if the system is relaunched say as a result of a Safari install.
TO get access back to the external SATA drive I have to power off the Mac Pro and restart the Mac Pro (leaving the external drive powered up).
Once I realised why I was losing access to the external drive I just build in a power off into the sequence instead of a relaunch of the system. - Unless I know I will not be using the external drive during that work session.

I've seen reference to the "My iPhone" local storage put no mention on how you create this folder or access this folder within the Notes app. I realize storing information in a local storage like this provides no syncing between other iDevices but that is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm running iOS7.0.4 on a iPhone 5S, and a iPad Air. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to Settings > Notes > Default Account you will see "On My iPhone" as the default account and the only choice if you have not enabled syncing Notes in Settings >iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you have enabled syncing you can still select "On My iPhone" as the default account. When you are in the Notes app you won't see any accounts listed if you have not enabled syncing because they are all in the On My iPhone account and that is the only place possible. It is not a folder that you create.

How can you create a playlist with music and music video and play those from same playlist through Apple TV?

How can you create a playlist on Ipod touch with music and music video, and play those from same playlist through Apple TV? I can download, create a playlist with both music and music video, stream that through the Apple TV with no problem. The sound and the information show up on the TV, but when it gets to a music video, it only shows the information and "artwork".
I also have a video playlist - videos play fine through the Apple TV, but will not shuffle through all videos - continues to repeat the same one. I have most definitely selected shuffle in both locations - from the playlist and on the ipod video screen while video is playing.

I finally got it... had to sync the photos with the music in iMovie, arrange the voiceover in GarageBand then export to iTunes, and then I was able to put it all together in iMovie and burn in iDVD... had a few glitches along the way but finally finished : )

Assume you have Flash Builder 4.5, CS Extension builder 2.0, Xcode 4.5.1 running under MacOS 10.8.

I understand why you need updated running headers in your book. To a sighted reader these serve as a guide to where you are and help you find things quickly. In addition, if you are exporting your data to XML or HTML from the tagged PDF it would also be important to have these in the proper location.
But for accessibility purposes, it doesn't have to be there because the screen reader reads everything in linear order, line by line. No one is looking at the page. A user listening to the screen reader read the page is going to hear this heading, just before the actual word itself. So they will hear the first word on the page twice. It's not the end of the world if it's there, but such headings are not necessary for accessibility unless they are not repetitive and contain information that is not otherwise available.
So I would say, fine if you need them or want them there, it's just one word.
I think you should try exporting your book to PDF (or even just a chapter of the book) and look at the tags panel in Acrobat to see if you are getting the result you want. I can't tell you exactly what you should do to get those results, you are using a plug-in I don't have.
I can tell you I didn't have to add the headers to any article at all, they just automatically export if the other articles in the file are added and you don't select the header style option "not for export as XML."
You may not experience the same results with your plug-in, but I think it will probably work the same way.
Give it a try and best of luck.

I have a banner for a web page that measures 800 x 200 pixels. I would like to create a slide show in the whole volume but I have been unable to discover where to change the standard size of the slide show window to 800x200 in Elements 8. Can anyone help?

I get a good horizontal fit in the slide frame but there are black bars top
and bottom since the frame is more than 200 pix high. My question really is

In the slideshow editor interface click once on your image in the main
window - you will see a bounding box appear together with editing options.
Click on the More Editing button and when your image opens in full edit
select the crop tool.
Set width to 800 px and height to 200 px and resolution to 72
Drag out your crop rectangle and move your image to the position you want -
this avoids image distortion but you will sacrifice parts of the original to
create a banner.
Press Ctrl=S to save and check version set to save an edit without affecting
the original.
Press Ctrl+W to close and your cropped image should automatically pop up in
the slideshow editor.
