How do you create linux flash player crash log?

I saw the post on Adobe about how to create crash logs on Windows XP & Vista (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408620.html#configure) but do not see any way to do this on Mac OSX or Linux distros. Also will the debug standalone flash players create crash logs?
Is it possible to create crash logs for flashplayer using OSX or linux? If so can someone provide the instructions?
Thanks,
Sean

My swf is crashing in XP too but can you only generate a crash log from the IE plugin (active-x control) or can the standalone player generate a crash log?
Thanks for replying about crash logs on linux.
Thanks,
Sean

  • How do I report a Flash Player crash to Adobe?

One of the most frustrating things that can happen when using software are crashes.  We understand that and we're constantly working on fixing them when we receive reports.  If you've run into a crash and would like to help, please see the following page that describes in detail what we need and where to report it:
    Report a Flash Player crash
While this document can appear complicated, the basics of what we need are pretty straight forward.  You'll create a new bug over at bugbase.adobe.com and include the following:
The Flash Player version on your computer.
A brief explanation of what caused the crash. Screenshots, a video, or both, of the steps are also useful.
The exact URL where the crash occurred. Even though the crash appears to occur in many places, providing the exact URL makes it easier to identify the issue.
A crash log. Depending on your browser and the operating system, see the "Create a Flash Player crash log" section in the Report a Flash Player crash help document.
System details including operating system and browser versions.
With your help, we can fix these issues and improve the browsing experience for everyone.

  • How do you download adobe flash player on the Mac?

How do you download adobe flash player on the mac without it failing? I use to have it and try to upgrade it and now it won't work. I can't even watch any videos on the Internet.

Adobe no longer supports 10.5 Leopard. You will have to upgrade to 10.6 to use the latest flash.10.5 Leopard was based on Power PC code and was written to be able to run on both Power PC and Intel processors. 10.6 Snow Leopard has completely rewritten code and only runs on Intel Macs. So anything written to run on 10.5  has twice the code needed for one written for 10.6 or newer.
The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is back in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion or Mountain Lion. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

  • How do you create a flash in game popup on the same frame?

How do you create a flash in game popup on the same frame?
I need to make a popup in flash on the same frame. Basiclly like you reach the frame and randomly (I know how to do random stuff) a popup might appear saying like you got a prize; and I want the stuff in the back to stay the same.
    Please help me!
    Thankx in advance.

Whatever frame you intend to make this movieclip appear in, you first set it to be invisible using...
popupName._visible = false; // popupName is whatever instance name you use
And for whatever random code you use to trigger it to appear you just set the _visible property to be true...
    popupName._visible = true;

  • How do you stop the flash player when you change pages on a web site

    Hi all;
I'm building a website in flash using my limited understanding of action script.  Everything was progressing very well until I found that if I go to one of my example pages of my web site and play the flash video (with audio) and click back to my "home" button, the audio will continue to play.  If I go back to the example page, the video is off and when I start the video, it plays again with the other audio.  I hear the audio twice! I know there is an action script to handle this but, I can't figure it out.
My question is, How do I stop the audio when I click away from the example page back to the home page or any other page?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm usinf Flash CS4 and a Mac OS operating system.

The problem is most likely in your Action Script. Therefore this question should be posted in the Action Script forum. This forum only deals with the Flash Player, which, in this case is running the script as it is written, and therefore, working properly.

  • How do You check your Flash Player functioning..?

I'm trying to see how the aspects of my various pages display in the different browsers.
Since I'm not using dotMac, I'm even more inclined to set my photo collection up in an alternative slideshow to the iWeb default. But checking how it works in different browsers is another matter. I'm assuming that any of those ("projectors") are going to require some animator like "Flash".
    - (So perhaps this is a generic question about all of the alternatives.) -
My 'slideshow' works fine in Safari and FireFox, but it would seem that I've got no way to know how it works in I.E.
I.E. doesn't seem to recognize "Flash" or "Flash Player" - at least I can't seem to get it to work on my I.E. v.5.2.3 even though my general 'Library', "Internet Plug-Ins" shows "Flash Player.plugin" v.9.0.28.0.
    - It's also doesn't work in the 'classic' rendition of what is labeled only "v.5.0", even though, in my os9 Applications folder for I.E., there does seem to be a Netscape Plug-In for 'ShockWave Flash'.
There must be some way to test out how it'll appear to the standard bearing Explorer user.
Which testing, I mean conveniently - rather than trying to carry a CD of the locally published folder across town to someone with a PC. Certainly not an elegant solution.
I can't find there to be support for it in osX. If that's right, how will I know it'll work for all those using I.E. ?
    Any/All help appreciated..!
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Well, I guess that was a 'generic' answer;
But the question had a qualifier... I apologise for not being more specific in my reference to carrying around locally published folders of my site to a neighborhood PC.
Fact is it's not published to a server yet - only locally. I would think that rules out "netrenderer".
    Any other options gratefully received.!

  • How do you get Adobe Flash Player to work in Windows 8.1 Pro?

Previous suggestions have not worked to allow use of Adobe Flash Player with Windows 8.1 Pro.

    That would be 11.
There are Windows 8 troubleshooting tips here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html
But the problem is more likely IE11 itself. Aside from Vista, it's just about the worst garbage Microsoft has unleashed on the computing public, ever. They intentionally altered the "User-Agent Strings", which websites use to identify the browser and provide the proper content for it. Some sites ID it as a Gecko browser (Firefox), while others ID it as a Webkit browser (Opera or Safari). Problem is... when the site ID's it as either of those, the browser specific content supplied REQUIRES the correct browser engine... which IE doesn't have and never will. So, it then becomes an "unrecognized browser". The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon. In fact, since they though this was a great idea, I seriously doubt they'll change it at all.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using a different browser. Trouble with that is... it's seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • HT1338 How do you get abode flash player to work on a Macbook Pro Retina?

I have downloaded the latest version of Abode Flash Player but it still does not work on You Tube, do I need to change any settings on my Mac?

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 4.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    2. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    3. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    4. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    5. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    6. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • How do you suppress the Flash Player Upgrade Notification?

I currently support Flash Player in a corporate environment, and we have been unable to effectively suppress the notification to "Upgrade Flash Player". While we do upgrade for each new version that comes out, we do so in a controlled environment and on a schedule to better work around other business needs.
We had previously suppressed this by placing a mms.cfg file (AutoUpdateDisable=1) in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, but when signed into a PC with administrative rights we still see the Flash Notification. We have also attempted to modify the ISCHECKFORPRODUCTUPDATES property, as well as ARPURLUPDATEINFO to no avail.
Any assistance on this would be appreciated.
