How do you create scroll bars in Stickies using xcode with LION?

I was reading this but its out of date but I still want to make scroll bars on my sticky notes:
http://mac.appstorm.net/how-to/utilities-how-to/become-a-stickies-ninja-tips-tri cks-secrets/
(its the last tip on the webage)
thanks

That hack still works (Lion's scroll bars sure are skinny though), you just have to go far enough back to find a Stickies application that still has editable nib files (pretty much everything uses compiled nibs these days).  I'm not sure where I found it (it's been a while), but it was at least as far back as Leopard.
I will agree with the article in that you shouldn't mess with the original application, just make a copy and stick it in your user's account.

  • How do you create a stand alone application using DAQmx when your application SCXI hardware isn't on the computer I am using to create the application?

How do you create a stand alone application using DAQmx when your application SCXI hardware isn't on the computer I am using to create the application? The DAQmx assitant won't allow me to create a task with hardware that isn't in my system.

You will need to have at least the DAQ device in your computer to add the chassis. When you add the chassis, don't auto detect the modules. You will have to add the terminal blocks and tell MAX which SCXI module will be connected to the DAQ device. Just make sure you don't test the chassis, when its not there.
    I hope this helps.

  • How do you create a finite pulse train using a FP-CTR-502?

I have recently replaced my FP-PG-522 module with a FP-CTR-502 module, to achieve higher output frequencies (FP-PG-522 max output freq is 5kHz, wheras the FP-CTR-502 max output freq is 16 kHz).
I need to be able to generate a finite pulse train. Has anybody created a finite pulse train using a FP-CTR-502 module before? I have started to look into it, but my ideas so far have been complicated (compared to doing it in a PG module).
Any tips on this would be much appreciated.

I can answer this question myself!
The answer is in the *OLD* version (July 2000) of the operator's manual for the FP-CTR-502. For some reason, this has been removed from the latest version (June 2003).

  • How can you create a test plan generator using labview

I am looking to create a testplan generator using labview to help RF Engineers translate test requirements into test parameters and wanted to know how i can go about it.

Have you considered to use Teststand? Teststand organizes all the tests and allows to parameterize them.
Creating a tool with a similar functionality will be more expensive than buying Teststand and modifing the operator interface.

When you write to a key, you have to supply a section.  If the section isn't there, then it will be created.  Basically, you can't have a section without any keys.

you could generate a report using the report - VIs (gives you opportunity to add headers, footers, tables etc.) and print the report to a PDF - Printer (e.g. FreePDF). No ActiveX or Adobe Writer needed.

  • How could you create 'Last Time Contacted' Smart Mailbox in Mail app Lion?

    Hello!
For the purposes of maintaining regular contact with a large group of contacts in your address book:
How could you create a smart mailbox in the Mail App (Lion) which contained that last unique sent/received email from each individual contact?
So ideally just the last email per contact. For my purposes I would then sort by date and find the contacts I havent emailed in a while and re-initiate conversation.
I also thought that perhaps it would be possible through Automator? (I am not very familiar with how to use this app)
Any ideas/solutions would be very appreciated!

(running lion 10.7.4 macbook pro late 2011)

Okay, I think I just discoverd a workaround. This will work if you're lucky enough to already have a smart-mailbox folder that persists after close. (Somehow I had two such folders that already existed and weren't subject to the mysterious disappearances on closing the app; perhaps I created them in a previous OS X release?) Anyway, here goes:
Locate an already existing smart mailbox folder that's working properly. Select the folder (in the sidebar).
Duplicate that folder using the "Duplicate Smart Mailbox" Command. (It's on the contextual pop-up menu or available via the gear icon in the lower left of the window). This should produce and exact copy of the folder and the boxes inside, appearing at the bottom of the smart mailbox list.
Edit the duplicate folder to put the smart mailboxes you want in it, and delete the previous mailboxes (duplicates) that you don't want.
The new folder structure should now persist between launches of the app.
There you go. Not the most elegant process, but workable. Don't know if there's a method if you don't have at least one smart mailbox folder already though.

  • How can I create a recovery partition to use Find my Mac?

I want to activate Find my Mac on my MBP.  The iCloud system preference says I don't have a recovery partition that's required for it.  It apparently didn't install when I upgraded to Mountain Lion.
How can I retroactively create a recovery partition?  There are no other partitions on the drive (other than the Macintosh HD, of course).
    Thanks.
    Rob

FIRST, assuming you do not have another Mac of the same model with a working restore, I would suggest using your Lion, mountaint lion or Maverick install to create a bootable system on a flash drive.  You will need a DMG image created with Disk Utility from that stick to recreate the restore partition on your mac.
Once you create the bootable USB stick, Use it to log in and follow the below process to back up the restore partition.  Then, save the DMG back up anywhere and finish the walk through on your normal operating partition.
Close Disk Utility if it is open.
    Open Terminal
    Enter the command below
defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DUDebugMenuEnabled -bool true
Now open Disk Utility and pull down the Debug menu
    Click Show Every Partition
Now, select the Recovery Partition and create a new image.
NOTE: The Recovery Partition will need to be made in Read Only format if you wish to restore the image normally with disk utility or by software such as Deploy Studio.  If you take an image with Deploy Studio and want it to restore the Recovery Drive normally, you will need to adjust the Work Flow for Image Capture to use the Read Only format.  It will slow things down.  If you dont use the read only format, the .dmg will not scan properly. This is most likely because the recovery drive already hosts compressed files. That said, this guide WILL restore from even a compressed .dmg image.  HERE IS THE WALK THROUGH FOR RESTORING A SCANNED READ ONLY FORMATTED .DMG.
Copy the Recover HD.DMG image to a flash drive
The following must be on an Administrator account
Next, Log on to the admin account of the computer you wish to restore the MLTI Recovery Partition.
Copy the Recovery HD.DMG from your Flash drive to the HD
Enter the following command in terminal
    diskutil list
If there is no partition for the restore drive listed, then use Disk Utility to create a GUID Partition keeping in mind the size of the original restore partition. (19 gigs for the MLTI Version of the restore drive)
Open Terminal and enter the following command
sudo asr -noverify -source (PATH FOR DMG IMAGE HERE) -target (PATH FOR RECOVERY HD PARTITION HERE) -erase -noprompt
NOTES: You must replace the () and everything in between with the respective path. You can simple drag and drop the source (your .dmg) and your target (the drive to be restored) while you are typing in terminal.
    Enter admin password
In terminal Type the following command
    diskutil list
note which disk and slice is the restore partition. It should be /dev/disk0s3, but it could vary a bit.
Now, run the following in terminal
sudo asr adjust --target /dev/disk0s3 --settype "Apple_Boot"
REMEMBER: you may need to replace /dev/disk0s3 with your new restore partition's designation.
    Enter Admin Password when prompted
    Restart.
Don't forget to enter the following terminal command into the machine you took the Recovery HD image from.
defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DUDebugMenuEnabled -bool false

How do you create a scrolling banner/marquee in DreamWeaver 4?  I can't find anything about scrolling banners in the documentation or in the several books I've searched.  Thanks.

Dreameaver can't create something like that out of the box, you need to use some type of script for the 'scrolling' to work.

how to add a scroll bar within a view window ?I want to display x and y axis outside the scoll window and keep those axis static and move the graph within scroll area
    ananya

    Hey Ananya,
I believe what you want to do is possible, but it will not be
easy.  If you want to add a scroll bar that will scroll the graph
back and forth but keep the axis set, you would want to add a
horizontal or vertical scrollbar.  Then you would create an event
handler for the scroll event.  You would have to manually plot
different data within this scroll event.  Unfortunately, there is
not really a built in way to do this with the Measurement Studio plot
    control.
