How do you do a system restore to the day before?
I don't know how or what I did but all my documents are not opening properly and i lost one short cut on my dock. i just want to restore it as the easiest option

Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

Far as your Safari problem do these things until it's resolved:
1: Software Update fully under the Apple menu.
2: Check the status of your plug-ins and update (works for all browsers) also install Firefox and see if your problems continue. You should always have at least two browsers on the machine just in case one fails.

Do you mean restore your phone? You'll need itunes on your computer, plug your phone to your computer open itunes and select restore.

what you can do is back up your phone to your computer before doing the update, just as a precaution. -
I was surfing around on eBay, when suddenly my screen morphed from the size it's always been at to SUPER HUGE. And I did NOT change any settings. I tried a system restore, and the pages on eBay are still Mr. Magoo sized.

System restore rolls your system files back to a restore point from a previous date. You can make restore points manually, but Windows will also make them automatically. This will undo system settings, changes from Windows Update, and changes from newly installed software (including removing software installed since that restore point).
Your data, documents, and most programs won't be changed. This makes system restore a great place to start when you're having a problem and don't know how to fix it.
System restore reverts drivers installed since the restore point was created. Programs and apps installed since the restore point was created will also need to be reinstalled.

To perform a system restore, follow these steps:
Open the Start Menu and select Settings.
Select Update & security and then Recovery.
Under Advanced startup, select Restart now.
After the computer restarts to a screen with various options, select Troubleshoot.
Select Advanced options and then System Restore.
When you reach an account selection screen, select an account.
Enter your password and select Continue.
Follow the prompts, choosing your desired restore point. (You'll most likely want to use the most recent restore point from before the problem started).

BurrWalnut mentioned, first please run a virus scan to eliminate virus infection (if AV program is not opened in adobe)
The files association could be corrupted in your situation, apart from the solution posted in the first reply, I also suggest you check Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set your Default Programs or Associate a file type or protocol
with a progra,, manually check the association and check if it can do some help.
Add: another way to open restore point is launching it in recovery console, please refer to this guide

Like when Setup Assistant fires up and lets you migrate? In general, that would imply having to do a complete reinstall. And I've always been under the impression that when you do that, the reinstall software does not contain all the extra goodies that come with a new from-factory install (such as iLife).

It says could not connect to the ipod because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter our passcode on the ipod before it can be used with Itunes. I forgot the passcode so how can I enter/ restore/reset it?
As the linked articl says, place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
