If you are getting a network timeout then try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software on your computer until the download has completed.
Before starting the actual update you should force a backup of the iPad via File > Devices > Back Up, and preferably copy any important documents, photos, files etc off the iPad so that you have copies of them outside of the backup.

Try this:
1. Open "Finder", then navigate to "Movies" on the left side. Click on "iMovie Projects"
2. Move desired movies and clips to trash, or your flash drive.
*PS* Its dangerous to have a full hard drive, I would recommend either trashing, or transferring files to another computer. Trash applications you no longer use as well.

That is hard to say, as we do not know what you keep on your hard drive.
To free space
empty the trash, both on your Desktop and the Aperture Trash,
Delete files and folders you do not need
Move files to an external volume.
There are utilities that let you find large files, like Omni Disk Sweeper, but that is not a free application.

What data do you want to transfer ? Music, films, tv shows, photos and ibooks are done by syncing in iTunes (for which there is some help in the iPad manual which can be downloaded from here http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad). Documents can also be done via iTunes, but it depends upon the app and the transfer method(s) that it supports e.g. file sharing via the bottom of the device's apps tab on your computer's iTunes, via your wifi network, cloud services, email attachments etc
Edit : have you got the Keynote app on your iPad, or any other app that supports keynote presentations ? Without a 'suporting' app you can't store a document/file on the iPad (unlike computers files have to be stored within an app)..

i have a cool new iphone. when i go to http://iphonewidgetlist.com/ there are lots of cool 3rd party apps which i would like to download but i can't figure out how to download anything nor do i understand how to transfer said 'download' to the iohone. any ideas?

What you're looking at are web pages, expressly designed to run on the iPhone Safari browser's miniature screen. "Weblets", if you will.
It is extremely unfortunate that people started calling them by the cute, but misleading name of "widget", since that really refers to something different.
Anyway, you're expected to either bookmark your favorite weblets, or at least bookmark one of the pages that act as home pages for your favorites.
(The latter are trying to look like the real Home page, which is where everyone wants these. And to tell the truth, it would make perfect GUI sense to let you place such a bookmark on your Home page, just as you can on a desktop. After all, the idea is to hide from the user what/where/how something works. But the iPhone is obviously still very much a work in progress.)

[SLVD]How do I download a package that's in the AUR but not in pacman?

I feel like I'm asking the newbiest question in this forum, but I'm a little lost. I found google-chrome in the AUR, but when I try to install it with pacman, it tells me it can't find it. I thought that pacman just pulled from the AUR. I guess I don't really understand what the AUR is or how it works.

I'd like to echo this. Building packages from AUR is really not difficult, and using a helper really obscures several of the steps. If you build "by hand" you will learn more about tar, and about pacman. The AUR page in the wiki makes all this very clear. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR

How can I stop Mozilla from trying to install the updater everytime I open it?

I had issues where Firefox eats memory searching for updates. I disabled the Updater, now every time I open Firefox, it tries to reinstall it. so i open Fire fox, the computer asks me if I want to let the Mozilla Updater" make changes to my computer. I say no and then firefox opens. Is there anyway to keep "updater" from trying to install everytime I open firefox?

Do you mean the updating service that Firefox installs and that Windows runs in the background? You can turn that on and off with a checkbox in the Options dialog. See this article: [[Advanced settings for accessibility, browsing, system defaults, network, updates, and encryption]].

Figured out a way to get it done programmatically using MusicMatch.
1) Install MusicMatch Jukebox
2) Add Library to MM - pointing to iTunes music folders
3) Use SuperTag/Lookup Tags to collect Artwork
It's all there now....
Go back to iTunes and Update your iPod...it should now be on there as well.
