How do you download music?

I just bought a blackberry pearl and I'm still trying to figure out how it works.  A couple of questions:  What is the Blackberry User Tools disc for?  How do I download music?  Is it possible to get walking directions with Vz navigator (for example, in NYC)?
Thanks in advance.

the user tools disc comes with the software to sync your BB with your PC. Highly recommend installing this, especially if you have office 2003-2007 (although there is some compatibilty issues with outlook 07). plus you can back up your phone data incase something happens to the phone.
you'll need a micro SD card for music. Id suggest no less than 2gb (between $20 -$26). theres multiple ways to get music on you BB. u can put the SD card in a media reader (using the supplied SD adapter), and transfer music that way (the BB will automatically put folders on the card once you have inserted it). or you can connect your BB to your PC and use the media manager. but you'll need to d/l or rip music from cd's first and convert to mp3 (or wma?) format.
as for walking directions, Im not sure. you can use the built in map functions to get "driving" directions. if you use the navigator, it costs extra where as the map does not.

Download the tracks you want form the iTunes Store, Amazon MP3, or other online music retailer.
Use iTunes to put them into a playlist.
Open the playlist and click File > Burn Playlist to Disc.   (Have a blank CD-R ready for this step.)  When the dialog comes up, choose "Audio CD."
This will create an audio CD that will play in a normal CD player such as the kind found in cars.

If both computers are on the same network, you could just mount the Windows machine and drag and drop the songs from the PC to your Mac, and then add them to your Mac iTunes Library by importing.
That's the simplest way I know...

How do you download music from ipod classic to computer

If your music collection was purchased from iTunes, you are in a good shape since that music is forever yours under your iTunes account. Therefore, after installing iTunes on your new computer, sign into your account and see all your music under "Purchsed". Then simply download it to be phisically present onto your computer (for free since you've already paid for it).
On the other hand if you happens to not be a sucker to waist money on iTunes and your collection was ripped from the internet (via torrents and such), you need some third party software to copy iPod music, here is a guide about how to transfer music from iPod classic to computer. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

I have 2 ipods with music from my old computer on it and now my new computer doesnt give me the option to download my music to itunes. I REALLY WANT TO BUY NEW SONGS! please help us figure out how to do this! thanks

You need to transfer the music from your old computer to the new one. You can use Migration Assistant or just copy the files from one to another.
If they were purchased from the iTunes Store all you have to do is "authorize" the computer to play them. You can authorize up to five computers.

The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Since everything came from your computer in the first place, it should still be there.

  • How do you download music from your computer to your ipod touch

I am trying to download my music from my computer to my iPod Touch and when I plug it in it says no device found!

    Hi Joshie Pumped Up Boudreaux,
When you connect your iPod to your computer, is the iPod's battery dead? If so, it won't turn on for about 10-15 minutes (at least). Once the battery has enough charge, you should see the Apple logo, and it should start up.
Otherwise, see this article if you're using a Windows computer or this one if you're using a Mac.
    Hope this helps,
    O.C.

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):
