How do you drag and drop/move multiple emails from the inbox or mail archive folder to a file folder in your finder?

I would like to archive hundreds of my emails that currently exist in my apple mail email filing system by moving them into file folders in the finder. I can do this easily with a single email but it wont let me do it with multiple emails or a complete folder. Is there any way of do this easily?

Thanks very much for this. However, I understand how dragging and dropping files normally works. It just seems the it wont work when you do it with emails when you are transfering them into a normal finder system folder. If you highlight one file and drag it to a finder folder it works, but when you drag multiple, it just wont let you do it.
Is there any work around for this? Thank you once again for your time.

Well, it's aggravating seeing foolish limitations to the program. Having some experience in education, offering a professional program in a limited version is condescending to the user and has never been proven to help students move forward. Plus, some of the choices made to keep Logic simple are confounding... "removing the edit button on the EXS24"? That's silly!

There is absolutely NO way to drag and drop newly purchased music from the Purchased list on the phone into my iTunes library? I'm finding it hard to believe that something so simple cannot be done!

I like to make MP3 CD's when I have people over, or when my friends have people over so I can just pop them into the CD player and let them play all night without having to worry about changing the CD or anything. Well, Apple's music is in AAC format, so I have to convert the songs to MP3 files using the converter in iTunes. So I'll convert them to MP3's and just delete the AAC file so I don't have doubles. The problem is, the next time I plug the phone into my laptop to transfer new purchases, iTunes thinks that the songs I converted aren't there anymore because the phone has them as AAC files, and iTunes has them as MP3 files, so it doubles the music again...EVERY time!! It's very frustrating! So this is why instead of clicking Transfer Purchases, I would like to be able to just drag and drop the songs I want from the Purchased list on the phone into my iTunes library. I hope I explained this right...lol. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I'm able to do that. I'm hoping maybe somebody here can help me out and give me some pointers on what to do about this. That stinks! I can actually do that at my house...I just plug my iPhone right into the wire that's plugged into my receiver in my living room...but some of my friends aren't "technology savvy"...lol...so they just have DVD players and I'll put the CD in there because it will read an MP3 disc. What's funny, is I have the phone set to "Manually Manage Music", and when I plugged it into the laptop just now, the one song I downloaded last night on the phone, transferred over to the iTunesl library. That NEVER happens. And it only transferred the one song...it didn't double the other songs like it ususally does. I swear, iTunes does what it wants, when it wants sometimes...lol. Im trying to have a multicolumn listbox setup so that you could select a column, and drag it to another location so that the use would be able to rearrnage the table if they so pleased. I've tried looking for a few different ways to do this, but I havent found anything yet. Is there a way that this can be done?

Hey, see the attached examples. I modified the example mentioned earlier. You basically use a invoke node to get the position of the mouse cursor when the drag starts. This allows you to know what column you are dragging. Then you do the same when the "drop" event happens. This allows you to know where you want to drop the event. Then you have to program in the change in the listbox's strings. That is at least how I have done it in the past.

I drag a video clip from Event to Project into my imovie I've started. The video clip length changes from 7.9 seconds to 4.9 seconds. How can I stop that length from being changed?

If you are using transitions either side of the clip they will use some of the clip to generate the effect, there isn't anything you can do unless you remove or shorten the transition.
If you aren't using transitions it may be that you are only selecting part of the clip in the event window, try dragging out the yellow frame to include all the video you want in the project.

Drag and drop between multiple instances of an executable

I want to know if there is a special way (not using Windows API) to drag and drop data between multiple instances of a same executable.
I have an application built in LabVIEW, where the main window can open a child window. Each window has a plot control. Between the two windows, a plot data of main window can be copied by drag and drop.
And I open another instance of the same executable. Now there are two executables(A and B).
I want to drag and drop a plot data from the main window of B to the child window of A. But in this case, Drag Enter Event is not fired. I think that the event seems to be fired only inside an executable.

Placed images (as opposed to pasted images) in Indesign are by their very nature pointers to an external image file, so there is no way to slim down the size of your exported PDF other than by playing with the export settings. Other than that, ensure that your file is placed in Indesign at 100% and at the correct resolution for your desired output. If you open the PDF in Acrobat, you can also save as a reduced size PDF which may help.

hi,
totally new to dreamweaver cs4, had some real helpful pointers already on there forums so thanks.
i was wondering, how can you drag and drop in dreamweaver cs4 to display contents of a mysql database? i have worked a bit with .net vwd in past and you dragged over say a list view to display data and really just want to be able to do the same in dreamweaver cs4 but not sure what it would come under in the php menu bar or data option in menu bar?
can anyone point me in right direction?

You can only move multiple jobs between job groups if the jobs being moved are on the same level.

However, when I attempt to follow those instructions, it doesn't work at all and there is no indication that it's even trying (i.e., I don't see the selected job following my cursor at all and all I get is the normal menu when you right click anywhere on the screen.)

Drag and drop of multiple nodes between 2 trees

Hi,
I am trying to implement a drag and drop of multiple nodes between two different trees. A simple drag drop written on the lines of the demo code RSDEMO_DRAG_DROP_TREE_MULTI works perfectly fine. But my requirement is, when a child (leaf) node is dragged, if its parent is not present in the target tree, that too has to be dragged and dropped from left to right. When I try to manually add nodes to the target tree, it dumps because the node key table and drag drop object have fewer nodes than what I am trying to add. So it always dumps in the drag_drop_complete method.
I have also tried putting this code in the PBO of my screen, calling a subroutine to refresh my tree with all nodes required. But I realise that the PBO does not get called after a drag drop. Is there a way to achieve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How do i Drag and Drop print in black and white?

I really like the drag and drop printing feature where i just drag several files to the printer icon in the doc and they print with out opening the file. My only problem is that i can't get them to print in black and white, or choose any other features for that matter. it is printing in color, which is the printer's default. Does any one know how to print in black and white with the drag and drop feature. i have set the printer to black and white for a single document, then tried to drag and drop, but it still does it in color only. i am using pdf's by the way, but it happens with jpegs as well.

You should create another printer queue for the printer and choose an appropriate name for the queue. You can then put the printer in the Dock. Now use the web interface to the printing system <http://127.0.0.1:631/printers>. Locate your new printer and click on the "Configure" button. You will need to authenticate yourself using the short user name and password of an administrator's account. You will then be able to set the defaults for that printer. Click "Continue" when you are done.
You can now drag and drop those files you want printed to the appropriate printer icon in the Dock.
Note: This does not work for every printer. There are some manufacturer's drivers that do not put these options in the printer's PPD. They generate them on the fly when you call the print window.

As a work around, you can edit the Drag and Drop js as to remove the drag and drop functionality, edit the document library page (default
page) place the content editor web part on top of the library include the modified Drag and Drop js file in the content editor web part, Please save the Drag and Drop js file to other location (probably Site Assets library etc).
