How do you enable fire fox work with mac track pad the two finger swipe to move back or forward

when using safari or chrome on the lion operating system you can use the track pad to move from one page to another either forward or backward. It is done with a two finger move. This does not work on firefox

You can set the related browser.gesture.* prefs to an empty string on the <b>about:config</b> page.

three finger or two finger gesture to move back and forward between pages of file only work on safari, unlike with old os. this new lion won't let me do it. Any help?

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in  mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.
I am starting to believe that Apple is Satan.

  • I work on dual screens on a new mac pro but when I do the 4 finger swipe it moves both screens, is there a way to move just the screen that is active?

I work on dual screens on a new mac pro but when I do the 4 finger swipe it moves both screens, is there a way to move just the screen that is active?

Multiple desktops and dual screens really aren't meant to work together. Apple came up with this multiple desltops feature and never really thought about users that use a dual monitor setup. So use either multiple desktops OR dual monitors but not both. Also don't try to use any App in Full Screen Mode as that doesn't work with dual screen setups either.

  • WILL THE NEW FIRE FOX WORK WITH A LOGITECH MOUSE AND KEY BOARD? I THOUGHT I READ SOME WHERE IT WASN'T COMPATABLE. THANKS JOHN

I WANT TO DOWN LOAD NEWEST VERSION OF FIRE FOX BUT AM HESITANT TIL I FIND OUT MORE THANKS, JOHN

    John,
Firefox will work with any mouse and keyboard that your computer supports. However, if your computer will not support the mouse or keyboard. Let's say it's a Windows 7 Computer and the mouse was only tested up to Windows XP and is a USB mouse then there may be a case where your mouse will not work. Firefox will never not work with a mouse and keyboard. Remember thoe, if it's a USB Mouse and Keyboard and it says that it's compatible up to Windows XP it will not work on Windows 7 or if it does work it may not work well.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Does Fire fox work with 64 bit machines

I have a new 64 bit machine and want to know if fire fox will work please.

    To be more clearer...
Mozilla has yet to make a official 64-bit version of Firefox for 64-bit Windows Vista/7 and the earliest that may happen is Firefox 12.0.
Firefox 32-bit does work on 64-bit Windows Vista/7. You also need the 32-bit browser plugins.
    http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/9.0.1/system-requirements/
    Windows
    Operating Systems
    Windows 2000
    Windows XP
    Windows Server 2003
    Windows Vista
    Windows 7
Please note that while the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 can be used to run Firefox 9, only 32-bit builds of Firefox 9 are supported at this time.

  • How do you read in and work with I24 binary data into LabView?

    Hi there,
I have a program that is reading binary data in as 16 bits per sample.  I have some binary input files that were saved as 24 bits per sample.  How do I convert my old program to handle this data.  I realize that LabView doesn't have built in I24 conversion - how do I do this myself? I found a post that referred to using a boolean array to create your own 24 bit number - but I don't understand what that means...  Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks so much!

Do you know the format of the saved 24-bit data?  Can you share some data with us, along with what you think the values are?  If it is I24, then every three bytes represents a 24-bit (signed) integer.  The first question to answer is "What is the order of the bytes"?  How do you want to represent these data?  The obvious choices are as an I32, but since the rest of your data is I16, you might choose I16, instead.
To convert I24 into I16, you can simply return the high two bytes.  To convert I24 to I32, you need to set a high byte that replicates the sign (saved in the most significant bit of the third byte).  One way to do this is to consider the third byte as an I8 quantity -- if it is positive, set the high byte to 0, and if it is negative, set the high byte to -1.

  • Adobe instructions for installing a plugin to enable PSE11 to work with Mac OS X 10.10.1 do not work.  I have gotten no help from Adobe.  Seems to need an update, and I am trying to do a Christmas present.

Has anyone found a way to enable PSE 11 to work with Yosemite on Mac?  The plugin does not plugin.

There is a plug in on the Adobe troubleshooting site for this problem.  Seems others are having the same problem.  I followed the instructions to drag the download into the appropriate place.  There is a graphic showing exactly what to do.  Then you are told to check to see if it worked.  It didn't.
After downloading Yosemite, I bought a new printer.  I returned it, because it wouldn't correctly print from Photoshop . . . prints were tiny no matter what size I chose.  Yesterday I realized it was a Photoshop not printer problem when I still couldn't control the size of the printed photo.  For example, I selected 2 X 2" for an ornament, heard the new printer "printing" and saw nothing.  Upon further inspection, there was a bluish spot no bigger than a comma in this writing in the center of the page.
Magic lasso is wonky and difficult.  When I can get that done, I cannot Cut and Paste nor move what I have selected.
I don't even know if updating to PSE 13f would solve the problem.  Saw something about problems there.
    Thank you for your help.

I hope you can work magic. I have tried to use: Adobe Acrobat 11.0.03, Adobe Reader 9.2.0, Adobe Reader 10.0.03. Use Safari 6.0.5 with Apple OSX 10.2.4 I try and get my bank statements from US Bank and all I can download or look at is some kind of code. Looks like source code. My wife OSX 10.2.4 works with Adobe Reader 9.2.0 on her new iMac desktop.
Thank you for your help and/or anyone out there that has an idea.
    Number of things...
There IS NO WAY that a NEW iMac, which is a Intel Mac, is running OS 10.2.4, which is a PowerPC Operating system. OS 10.2.4 was OBSOLETE in  April 2003. The final update for OS 10.2 was 10.2.8 http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1194.

  • In e-mail, how do you create a Save to My Mac mailbox? The instructions aren't complete.

In order to save space in iCloud, the instructions recommend moving messages from iCloud to your Mac. They specifically state:
"In Mail, choose Mailbox > New Mailbox, choose On My Mac from the pop-up menu, then enter a name for the mailbox.
You don’t have to create a new mailbox if the On My Mac section of the sidebar already has a mailbox that you want to move iCloud email messages to."
The problem is that I can't find the "Mailbox" button or folder or drop down (or whatever it is). It doesn't say WHERE in Mail to find it.
    Any suggestions?

I think I have been interpreting the instructions incorrectly. I was going into iCloud Mail, NOT the Mail app. I didn't realize they were connected, and that iCloud mail messages could be saved to the regular Mail app, which I already know how to use.
Thanks for the response. I think I've got it now.

  • How do you get html5 to work with Firefox?

I have disabled and removed adobe flash player. I go to youtube, enable the html5 trial version, and try to view videos and it won't work. If I enable flash, the videos work fine. I can get html5 to work in Chrome, but it will not work in Firefox. Why?

It is starting to sound like Google is being a dick and gearing their service to be fully functional with their browser and not others, unless it is the fault of Firefox. Because every video works in Chrome with html5.
Flash is being annoying. Frequently, it will freeze Firefox, and then I will get an error message saying that the flash player stopped working. I almost always get this freeze on startup of the browser (if I forgot to disable Flash) and then I get other times while using Firefox as well. I only get this problem when flash is enabled, therefore it is flash. You can argue that it is only my computer, which maybe it is, but I cannot find a solution, nor have I been able to solve it, except by disabling flash.

  • How do you get mod_perl to work with the bundled apache2?

I have read a few reports on how to get DBD perl working and some people talk about compiling apache 2 and mod_perl, but I want the standard apache2 which is running smoothly with my php install to handle perl too.
Can someon give me a list of commands and steps to do and run to get this working? I know php, a bit of C have compiled before but allways forget how it is done. I have no problems editing httpd.confs or php.inis so probably perl's configs and configure files won't be a problem. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the thought etresoft. I did not find it in the httpd.conf as an so module to be enabled, so I presumed it was nowhere to be found. But it seems it is in the /usr/libexec/apache2 folder just like all the other modules, find found it .
I just added this to my httpd.conf and now it is working:
    LoadModule perl_module libexec/apache2/mod_perl.so
    Alias /perl/ /Library/WebServer/Documents/perl/
      <Location /perl/>
          SetHandler perl-script
          PerlResponseHandler ModPerl::Registry
          PerlOptions +ParseHeaders
          Options +ExecCGI
          Order allow,deny
          Allow from all
      </Location>
I was stuck mentally it seems. Thanks for the bump.

  • How can you get BTTM to work with a Gateway 2wire 3600hgv

Is the 2Wire 3600hgv compatible with back to my mac (BTTM) from outside the network?
I have been unable to successfully setup BTTM for use from outside my home wireless network. From within the home wireless network I can share files between desktop (iMac) and laptop (Macbook). But from outside the network I can not connect to the home computer. BTTM is recommending that NAT-PMP or UPnP be enabled on the router. However, I cannot locate these options on the router settings. Both computers are running the latest OS X from Mac (10.8.2)
I have done a lot of researching and seem to only find old posts for similar questions. Is there a current solution for this?

I have exact same question too. If anyone come up with an answer yet?

If indeed you have the HP Officejet 6500a make sure that you have the latest firmware on the printer and that you are connected to the same netwok.  Locate the action icon on your apple mobile device, when you have a photo or document open, find print select print and printer then print again.  The following docment should help.
