How do you erase old podcast in the mode list ?

How do you erase old podcast in the mode list ?

Thanks.
Well I used the "List" view on the right and I was able to delete podcasts from there.
I guess I'll have to get used to another view...
I also lost all my old poscats archived though.  Not sure if it is because of wonderful 11.1 iTunes or because I bought a new computer. They're all lost. But that's a different problem.
Since you seem so ressourceful, maybe you can help on another problem that I don't seem to be the only one having ?  Have a look at the discussion titled "
In iTunes 11.1 when a podcast finishes it starts playing the next oldest one automatically.

How do you erase your history on the search field ( the first page you swipe to, on the left)?

Ah, I understand now. You don't want to erase the search history. You want to prevent search from accessing old data. The only way to do that is to restore the phone as new.

  • How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?

Like the subject line says: How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?
With the previous version of iTunes, when I plugged in my iPod, I could select the iPod, select podcasts, and manually delete episodes. With the new iTunes, I can't select individual episodes when looking at my iPod through iTunes. Is my only option to Sync? If so, why is that my only option?
This question probably has a simple answer, and I'm just not seeing it.

    Rock,
I think I figured out a way to do what you want to do - which is the same way that I use Itunes with my Ipod. (My Itunes libary was destroyed last year so I can no longer auto synch my Ipod as I would lose thousands of songs).
Funnily enough, I discovered this new way of manually moving podcasts while trying to figure out what cpragman was trying to say (I never could - he must be smarter than me, as I couldn't get his method to work).
    1. Open up your Itunes in your regular Library view. Choose Pocasts from the left hand side (either in the sidebar if you have that enabled, or from the little "radio" icon if you don't.)
    2. Mouse to the podcast you want to place on your Ipod.
    3. Right-click it.  A long menu will pop up.
    4. Move to the "Add to Playlist" option.  As you hover, all your playlists will be visible. But at the very top will be the name of your Ipod itself (whatever you named it originally).  Choose THAT name, and voila! That podcast will now copy to your Ipod and be easily available when you disconnect.
A nice feature of this method is that you can shift-click several podcasts at once and do the same thing, and all your selected podcasts will copy over (if you're like me and update your Ipod only every few weeks).
Hope this helps - let me know if it works for you!

  • HT4515 how do you erase a photo from the Camera Roalbumll and still keep it in a selected

How can you erase a phote from the camera roll and not delete from the selected album you moved it to

You don't. There is only one picture.  if you delete it from Camera Roll then it will be gone.  Just as a song is in your library and that exact same song is in a playlist, a pic is in the camera roll and that exact same photo can be accessed from a album that you make.
The pic is not moved to the album, the album is simply a playlist.  the pic lives in the camera roll.

  • How do you remove old podcasts?

How can I remove old podcasts off my itunes and off my ipod?

To remove podcasts from your iTunes library:
In the Source List of iTunes, go to the "Podcasts" area under "Library".
Here, you can select the podcasts that you want to delete, and drag those files to your Recycle Bin, or just click the "Delete" key on your keyboard.
To remove podcasts from your iPod:
Connect your iPod to your computer. Click on your iPod in the Source List of iTunes. Go to the "Podcast" tab.
Here, you will see your podcast syncing settings that you have set up for this iPod.
If you have already deleted the podcasts that you want to delete from iTunes (and if your iPod is automatically syncing podcasts), then all you need to do is let it sync with your iPod, which would delete those podcasts off your iPod.
If you have not removed those podcasts from your iTunes library, but you would like them off your iPod, then take a look at your syncing settings.
If the main "Sync" option for Podcasts is selected, then you can alter whether you want certain recent/unplayed/new/etc. podcasts to go onto your iPod.
Or, if you have the "Selected podcasts" setting selected, then you can select/deselect what podcasts you want on your iPod using that method.

I removed some old back up from time machine which are on my external drive and it now in the trash. But the old back up is not erasing from my trash can. How can you removed this from the trash without reformatting the external drive.

You really should not remove any Time Machine backups using that or any other method.

  • How do you manually manage podcasts on the Ipod?

I subscribed to a podcast on my Itunes but didn't want to Automatically Update because I had podcasts on the Ipod from another machine. I found I could click and drag the individual videos from the podcast from Itunes to the Ipod.
After that the videos showed on the big list in Itunes when I showed the list of ALL songs and videos on the Ipod. But once I ejected the Ipod and browsed the menu the videos were nowhere to be found.
I finally bit the bullet and said goodbye to my old podcast and selected "Automatic Update".... probably should've come here first. But does anybody know how this can be avoided?

Just rightclick the iPOd name in iTUnes, hit "iPod Options" and in the following window hit the sub tab named "Podcast" (Not the tab at the very top, the sub one beside musiv, video, contacts ect ect). There you can set the podcast to manual update while keeping everything else auto update like music.

    Hi,
Previously iChat had tried a Last Chat/IM option when using Saved Transcripts - which itself was an option.
iChat has also tried "Saving" the Last Chat by leaving a Chat window open and using something similar to the Lion method of showing an app in the state is was closed in.
In Messages the option to Save Transcripts has been removed and Chats or all types are saved as a matter of course.
What this tends to mean for your iChat style Buddy Chats is that it opens all the Transcripts  for that buddy as a sort of History you can scroll back through if you want  (I have  some Buddies with saved chats gong back to 2004)
With the Syncing of iMessages with iPhones and iPads (or Touches) then it seems this works slightly differently.
Although you can delete the chat and the contents of the Chat as separate action it is true that in the Beta as soon as you connect to the same Contact that the contents of the previous chats are shown to you.
I have found that Messages stores a data base of info on iMessages in Your Home Folder/Library/Messages
I have found that deleting this chat-db removes the "History" that keep popping up.
By default the Saved "iChats" are also stored in the Home Folder/Documents/iChats (At least this is the default place iChat used and they go to the same iChats folder where ever you had it)
Some people claim removing iMessages saved here stops the "History" reappearing.
In Lion the only access to the Home Folder/Library is via the Finder's Go Menu and hiding down the ALT key

  • I must be missing something... but how do you download old podcast episodes

Hi, I'm a little new to podcasts, and I seem to have a question already. I want to download an old episode of a podcast without downloading all the new ones. Is there anyway to do this? All I see is the subscribe button, and if I right click the one I want to download all I see is Get Info, Copy, and Copy iTunes Music Store URL. Any help is appreciated.

I just spent an hour trying to figure out the same thing. Do this:
    Subscribe to podcast.
Click "Podcast" on the left hand side of your screen(under the source heading). This will display the most recent episode of the podcast.
To get to the old episodes click the little arrow on the left of the recent episode to the right of the blue dot.
The old episodes will then be listed and you can either double click them, or click "get" and they will download.

  • How do you remove old scanners from the Photoshop CS5 import menu?

I'm using Mac Photoshop CS5 running on Mountain Lion.
In the Photoshop import menu I've built up quite a list of scanners -- equipment I no longer have.
Any way to pare that list down to just the actual scanner I'm using now?
Seems like something needs to happen at the system level but I can't locate the offending prefs/config file(s).
    Any advice is much appreciated!

The scanner list comes from the drivers installed with the OS.
Remove the old drivers, and the scanners won't appear in Photoshop anymore.

  • How do you add Blind Copy to the options listed in the mail address book?

My I-Mac is the 20 inch Intel model running OS 10.4.7 and mail is 2.1.1.
When trying to forward mail I can chose Bcc by going to "View" and selecting Bcc, but then when I go to the address book to select the names that I want to Bcc there are only two options listed in the address book and they are "To and Cc". The only way that I have been able to set the addresses into the forwarding message is to drag each address from the address book and place it into the Bcc field on the forwarded note. There must be some way to enable the address book to list Bcc. Does anyone know how? Thanks

    Hi Austin,
Thanks for the response, but you kind of misunderstand my question. I actually want something much simpler than this:
When the Mail.app Data Detection recognises a telephone number or address, via a drop-down menu, I have the option to create a new contact or add the data to an existing contact. If I want to create a new AddressBook contact I am presented with a pop-up. This pop-up gives me the choice to enter a persons name, or by ticking the box, designate the entry as a company. I can edit the person's or company's name - this is often necessary as Data Detection, though generally quite good, doesn't always pick the correct data; for instance when the data is in the body of a forwarded e-mail. But what I can't seem to do is edit the entry to include a Contact Name and a Company Name. I may have to hand enter this information, I can accept that, but what I want to avoid is having to move away from Mail, open AddressBook and complete the contact creation therein.
What I simply require is the option to enter at least the standard AddressBook 'new contact' template fields from within Mail. So I need to know: Is there is a way of configuring the pop-up fields beyond the Mail.app defaults?
    I hope this makes sense..
    Thanks again..

How do you get Photos to recognize the “old” iPhoto Library on an external drive without it copying it to the internal drive on the computer which is low in HD space?

Launch Photos while holding down the alt/options key.
This will show the Library Chooser panel. Select the library on the external drive. Photos will create a Photos Library on the same drive.
Photos may not be able to open the library, however, if your external drive has an incompatible file system. It needs to be formatted MacOS Extended (Journaled) and locally mounted, not a remotely mounted volume, as described here:  Format external drives to Mac OS Extended before using with Aperture

How do you delete old music that it don't want anymore for the iOS 7 update. It gave me all the music I deleted in the past. I tried going to settings and turning off music from the past and it got rid of my music I recently purchased.

    Hello there, Syd_ma22.
The answer to how to delete a song on your phone in iOS7 is found on page 62 of the iPhone User's Manual:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
    Specifically:
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
