How do you extract QuickTime favorites?

Summary
How do you extract QuickTime 7 Favorites?
Narrative
Approximately QT 7.6.1, you could readily extract Favorites in text format from com.apple.quictimeplayer.prefs; however, somewhere in the recent updates, QT started gnarling the data.
Neither PrefEdit nor Property List Editor seem to enable you to extract the URLs in plain text format from com.apple.quictimeplayer.prefs. Neither allow you to select-copy-paste. Both separate the root URL (and binaryize it) from the sub folders and place them in different folders.

Hi,
As you are using Adobe Reader, extraction of pages is an option. You would require the Acrobat to this task for you

  • How do you read your favorite feeds?

Hi! This is my very first post on Arch forums.
I'm wondering about how do you read your favorite feeds? Which software do you use and why (what kind of features).
I'm more interested in finding a little software that uses the system tray.
Yet I'm also curious about just how does, those who utilize RSS, do it.
Personally I've used YARSSR, which is exactly what I want, except for few problems..
On Ubuntu it used to be as easy as make, make install (having build-essenial installed). On Debian 4.0 stable it is in the stable repos, so it was even easier. On Arch it's not in any of the repos nor AUR and make, make install didn't work:
    # yarssr
    bash: yarssr: command not found
    # /usr/local/bin/yarssr
    Can't locate Gnome2.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib/yarssr /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.3/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.3 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.2/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.2 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.1/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.1 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i686-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at /usr/local/lib/yarssr/Yarssr.pm line 3.

Compilation failed in require at /usr/local/bin/yarssr line 13.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/local/bin/yarssr line 13.
I'd love to understand what's going on. How to install it right.
Anyhow, it's far from perfect anyway. It's the single thing that is not working so perfectly on my Debian as it should. Uses way too much CPU, sometimes stays trying to update and never does update nor allow forced updates, no quitting, etc..
I also use Google Reader, which is great to read many feeds and manage them, etc.
All I want is a little applet (maybe GNOME applet?) that gives me quick glimpse of my top favorite feeds, without using my browser nor launching a full-functional aggregator.

    Hi James.
I'd like to know how you want to read your news
i'd prefer a cli frontend, web front would be bonus (river of news style).
snownews is good, just needs a few tweaks, some ui ones, and the main one being:
often i dont get to read news for a few days straight, so i'd like something i can put in cron and it'll update, and log the news for a few days straight, so when i get back it's all there. this generally limits me to one of the web clients, i dont know any desktop apps that do this.
i might write up an app to do this someday
as for your yassr problem, pacman -S gnome-perl?

  • How do you extract non consecutive pages from a pdf document. I can highlight in thumbnails but only extract consecutive.

How do you extract non consecutive pages from a pdf document?
I see its easy to do it with consecutive pages by highlighting thumbnails then 'extract' but this does not allow for non consecutive pages.
    Thank you

After highlighting the pages you can drag them and drop them somewhere,
like on the desktop, and a new file will be created with just those pages.
If highlighting the pages is not feasible, or too tricky to do, then a
script can be used where you specify which pages to extract and the script
extract them to a new file.

    @moseymums – two answers here:
    1. Duplicate the document and remove all not wanted pages.
2.a Duplicate all selected pages in the Pages Panel to a different open InDesign file (the target) with the "Move Pages…" command.
2.b Remove all unwanted pages from the target InDesign file.

But take care on text threads accross several pages. If you delete a page with a text frame linked to a thread accross several pages, the text will change to the beginning of the thread on every first page.
So it might be good to run a script which will unlink threadened text frames before.
If you have often to do this task, there are several plugins which will help you to perform this. E.g. Output factory from http://zevrix.com/

  • Premiere Element 9, how do you save your favorite transitions and 1080/60p

In Premiere Element 9, how do you save your favorite "transitions" and or "effects" to a folder like all the Premiere Element versions, theres no right clicking.
Does anyone know if the Panasonic HDC-tm700 1080/60p would work in version 9 ?

As you can see from this discussion from Muvipix.com, that camcorder does have some challenges.
    http://muvipix.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=8453
In 60p mode, it uses a proprietary system that most third-party editors, including Premiere Elements, have problems with.
Using the software that came with the camcorder to convert it to 60i seems to make it compatible.
I'm not sure why Panasonic decided to make its video format non-standard. But it looks like the easiest solution is to edit that 60p video pretty much only with the software they give you with the camcorder.

  • Premiere CS4 - How can you import QuickTime (.mov) videos and which settings for the sequence?

How can you import QuickTime (.mov) videos and which settings for the sequence?
Please reply in plain English or if possible in German
    Greetings from Vienna, Peter

    I have not installed Quicktime.
I got a few scenes (.mov) from a Canon Eos 70d.
I want to create a short film (in Premiere CS4) with these scenes, mixed with photos and MP3 music.

  • How do you extract an .MP3 from an .MP4 file using iTunes?

I have figured out how to import a home video into iTunes (video taken with my iPhone 5S), and have figured out how to use iTunes to convert the video (recorded in Quicktime) to .MP4 format ... but I cannot then use iTunes to "Create a New Version" and have it allow me to select .MP3 as a choice.  It's on the list, but it's greyed-out.  Apparently, on a MAC, if you hold down the "Option" key, it will then allow you to select the .MP3 format, but pressing "ALT " (generally the PC equivalent) only closes the drop-down menu on me.  So ... what do I do here?
I really don't want to have to download a different program to do this, especially since it seems that iTunes can ... I just need to know how.

    THANK YOU.
I tried all manner of other keys ... but didn't think to try Shift.  Or if I did, I didn't hold it down BEFORE clicking on File.
(For anyone else reading this ... it's important that you hold down the Shift key before clicking on File because iTunes won't allow you to choose .MP3 as an option if you try to hold down the Shift key after the File menu is already open.)

  • How do you add to favorites or wish list?

How do you add movies to favorites or wish list?

You can't currently do it directly on the iPad (you can on your computer's iTunes), but as a work-around in the iPad's iTunes app you can use the 'Tell A Friend' link at the top right of a film's description to email yourself links to films that you might be interested in.
You could also leave feedback for Apple and maybe it will be added in the future : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

When I do this with Safe Mode, it doesn't crash. I'm guessing I need to some how make it so Quicktime uses more of the RAM, I got 16 Gigs, or use less CPU.  Activity Monitor shows 87% CPU usage just before the crash. This is a one month old iMac, while on my old one from 2008 with just 4 GB RAM, it didn't crash.

Thanks to QuickTimeKirk on another post, I got the answer. You use qtl (Quicktime Media LInk) files to point to the real .mov files. Then the qtl file will download when linked to on a web page. After the instant download, Quicktime player will open and grab the stream. Even on a PC! Great!

  • Monitoring using a Dashboard - How do you extract data from different fields?

I have a situation where a Dashboard needs to be made to monitor the state of different SAP systems.
Within individual Systems I know its easy to monitor the systems using CCMS (rz20), but my question is, How do you get to pull out the data that is displaying on the CCMS screen so that it could be taken and displayed on a dashboard. A dashboard could be a JAVA program that displays data from various such fields and displays maybe on a TV screen.
What I found so far was,
    in rz20
    Click on Performance Overview.
    click on CPU Utilization
So, I place my mouse pointer on Value '2' for User CPU Utilization and hit F1 and then click on Technical Details
Now even if I place my mouse pointer on Value '1'' for User CPU Utilization and hit F1 and then click on Technical Details I get the same screen as above.
So, My question is, How do we determine what data sits in what field?
The aim again is to read these data and populate an external Dashboard.
The current Systems are not connected to SolMan as we do not have a SolMan setup yet. I am just trying to make a Dashboard using the existing CCMS tool.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Bevin

    Hello Bevin,
There are other transactions : ST06N/OS07N to check performance data, see note:
    #371023 - OS07/ST06: Monitoring operating system data
    #1084019 - OS07N: New operating system monitor
All CCMS agents can copy data from the SAPOSCOL shared memory segment to the CCMS monitoring segment and transfer it to a central
monitoring system. This means that the data is visible in the CCMS monitoring architecture and is displayed both in the familiar transactions ST06
and OS07 and in the Alert Monitor (transaction RZ20)

  • How do you import quicktime.mov with xml subtitles?

Received QT movies that have subtitles using tx3g (embedded xml). How can I get the subtitles into Finalcut Pro? When I import the movies in Final Cut the subtitles are missing. Tried to export the xml from QT, then import the xml into Final Cut - but it asks for the translation document - which I do not understand.

I just converted a wmv file into swf by first opening it in Quicktime (first I had to buy Quicktime Pro to export it to mov and Flip4mac to get it open in the first place, so you're ahead of the game). Then I went into the Adobe Media Encoder that comes with CS4 and converted it into a flv file from there. Then I went into flash and used 'import video', and saved it as a swf file, posted both into my website folder, and saved the skin that it generated into the main website folder where the html file is, it wouldn't show the buttons until I moved it.
    Hope that helps.

  • How do you add to 'favorites' list in safari?

So in the new ios7, Disney, espn and yahoo show up as favorites on new blank pages. I've figured out how to get rid of them, but the real question is how do I replace them with the things I actually want there?

Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen. It's the square with the arrow coming straight up. You will be presented with several choices one of which is Bookmark.

  • How do you install QuickTime Pro 7 on Snowleopard 10.6.8 when QTX is on it?

First off im fairly new to OSX, but when it tells you that you can't install because of a newer version on the machine but won't tell you how to fix it, is an issue. Any suggestions?

Just a footnote to Niel's reply:
Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link  even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)
