How do you find 'other versions' of songs?

In the prior version of iTunes you can drop down the arrow by the price tag to find links to other versions of the listed song.  A quick way to find "cover" versions.  That function/link appears to have disappeared.   Is that correct?

I am greatly disappointed this feature was dropped.  I used it all the time.

  • How do you find the number of songs in your library, more importantly the number of duplicates, this new version is very lacking in access to info

I do not like the interface of the new version.  I lost a lot of playlists and songs in the iMatch process.  As I attempt recovery from backups,  I am trying to identify how many duplicates I have in total. I can get a list, but there are too many to count.  There  has to be a better way.
    thanks

View > Show Status Bar puts the grey bar at the bottom where song/playlist stats are displayed
In itunes 11 the Show duplicates feature was omitted.
However in iTunes 11.0.1 they put it back
    from the top menu
    View > Show Duplicates
    or
    Option(alt) + View > Show Exact duplicates

  • How do you add more than one song to library.....

How do you add more than one song to the library using the "Add File to Library" option? I just upgraded to itunes 7.1.1.5 from an early version and used to be able to do this but now it want let me, it only lets me add one song at a time. I don't want to use the "Add Folder" option because it adds m3u playists and all kinds of things I don't want to be in my library. Is this a glitch? because it doesn't make sense.

When using the "add file to library" feature, hold down the CNTL (control) button as you pick your songs...
DON'T RELEASE THE BUTTON UNTIL YOU HAVE SLECTED ALL THE SONGS...
then just hit hit the button to add them a voila

  • How do you know the version of a JAR file ?

how do you know the version of a JAR file ?
is it what is written on MANIFEST.MF ?
for example i have a JAR file
    whose MANIFEST.MF has this
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Ant 1.4.1so, whats the version of this JAR ? 1.0 ?

    anyway, that was JSTL..jar.
Now, come to another JAR file....
    whose MANIFEST.MF has......
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Apache Ant 1.5.1
    Extension-Name: Struts Framework
    Specification-Title: Struts Framework
    Specification-Vendor: Apache Software Foundation
    Specification-Version: 1.1
    Implementation-Title: Struts Framework
    Implementation-Vendor: Apache Software Foundation
    Implementation-Vendor-Id: org.apache
    Implementation-Version: 1.1
    Class-Path:  commons-beanutils.jar commons-collections.jar commons-dig
    ester.jar commons-logging.jar commons-validator.jar jakarta-oro.jar s
truts-legacy.jarso, How do you believe whats the version now ? do u go with the comment "Manifest-Version: 1.0" or "Specification-Version: 1.1" ?
definitely, you would go with the "Specification-Version: 1.1" and declare this JAR as STRUTS 1.1
hmmm, so, if nothing is mentioned like above should we follow the MANIFEST version as the JSTL version ? in my earlier example i did not find any comment on ""Specification-Version" ......so , if anybody gives me that JAR , how do i decide whether its 1.0 specification or 1.1 specifucation compliant ?
can you tell whats the JSTL version of my earler example JAR file ?

How do I find the top 5 songs from a single artist?

If you have unchecked the compilation tag on the CD tracks before you ripped them, then what you are describing shouldn't be happening. Are you sure you are unchecking the compilation tag for all of the tracks on the CD before you rip them?
Unfortunately, you cannot change the default directory structure that iTunes rips albums into. You can feel free to move files after they are ripped, but iTunes will always rip them into its Artist/Album/Track #_Track Name format.

  • TS2753 Has your debit/credit card been charged for unauthorized APPLE Itunes purchased? How do you find out who used it?

Has your debit/credit card been charged for unauthorized APPLE Itunes purchases?  How do you find out who used it?

    Max OSX 10.6.8, iTunes 11.1
I had a similar problem: I wanted to synch my playlist to my iphone. I like to have my playlist sorted by genre. But under each genre, albums are not sorted by the track numbers. This is a problem, especially when I am listening to club mixes when the DJ smoothly transitions from 1 track sequentially to the next one. Under the properties of each audio file, the Track Numbers and Disc Numbers are already there.
My perfect solution was to turn On Sorting - Sort Album under View>Show View Options. Then, select all the songs in that album (Shift click, Cmd click, etc) , and Edit multiple item information (Cmd I). You will see Info-Video-Sorting-Options buttons. Click on Sorting. Then, under Sort Album, Enter the name of the album. Then OK.
You should now have the playlist sorted by Genre, then each album individually sorted by track numbers. On your playlist you should see, if you scroll right, the column added called "Sort Album".
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I make mp3 versions of songs I have purchased? Under the 'Advance' in the menu for iTunes, that choice is dimmed.

How can I make mp3 versions of songs I have purchased? Under the 'Advance' in the menu for iTunes, Creating mp3 version is dimmed.

Have you quit and re-launched iTunes? Does the menu item become active then? Or are you trying to convert a protected file, which isn't possible. You can tell if the file is protected by doing a Get Info. If Kind says "protected AAC audio file" the file can not be converted in-place. It must first be burned to Audio CD which you can then import into iTunes as an MP3.

in order for this to work all the songs you want to change have to be right next to eachother in a list, one after the other.
Select the first song you want to change. (it will be hilighted in blue)
    Hold down the shift key
without letting up the shift key click the last song you wish to change. (any songs betwwen these to songs are now blue also)

  • How do you stop downloading itunes match songs to iphone 5

How do you stop downloading itunes match songs to iphone 5?
Cell data is turned off but it is still downloading.

When you initially enable iTunes Match on any iDevice it is wise to let it operate for a good period docked or with good WiFi.
Best route to stop it if essential is to switch off iTunes Match.

  • Solaris 11 IPS:  How do you post multiple versions of the same package?

How do you post multiple versions of the same software package on a single IPS instance(port)? Oracle was able to do it here with versions 151 and 175 of S11:
    http://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release/
Unfortunately, based on my searches, no where in the documentation (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/technologies/ips-323421.html) does it explain to the development community how this is done. The best I can do is create pkg repo instances on different ports to host each different software version.
We are trying to deploy an IPS repository for our drivers and utilities that our customers can link to and pull updates from. We have been able to post a software package to the repository using the command:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 -d ./ Appv1.p5m
This posts the package on the IPS repository instance at port 1234 on the server. However, we would like to post multiple versions of the package on the server at the same URL. Why the same URL? So that our customers and end-users need only point to a single URL to pull down our software rather than having to add a new URL to the publisher list each time we have an update. We want at least 5 of the previous software versions to be available on the server. Posting each version of the application or driver on a different IPS instance on a different port will require customers to add multiple URLs to their publisher list and they also will not be able to initiate remote scans for updates.
Has anybody been able to do this? Is any documentation forthcoming?

dhduvall: Thanks for your response. Yes, one would think that as long as the version numbers are different, you should be able to accumulate multiple versions of a package in a repository. It looks like Oracle has done it in their S11 repository unfortunately, as far as I know, they have not shared the steps on how to do this. I would like to publish two versions of the same package. I.E. two different manifests with two different fmri.pkg version strings and two different binaries.
If I publish one package after another like this:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv2.p5m
Then only the second package shows up in the repository, as if it over-wrote the first one.
Running pkgsend with two manifest, like this:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m Appv2.p5m
Will cause pkgsend to combine the packages and manifests as if they were a single package... not what I am trying to do.
Both approaches are complete without errors but neither achieves what I am trying to do.
alan.pae: Thank you. Unfortunately, the link didn't really help. I've read Oracle's white papers and IPS developer guide so I'm familiar with the topics covered.
Lex: Yes, I know. I specified the versions in the pkg.fmri value string.
