How do you fit Two hours of footage in a 4.7 gb dvd?

I have a 2hour and 10 minutes movie that i have edited in my FCP, I want to put it in one DVD. I have tried to build a dvd in DVD pro but the dvd is only capable of putting 4.7 gb. Is there any way this can be done. After i import the movie which i converted into mpeg2 and the audio which i converted into aiff by using A.Pack.. the total gigabits is 6.6. Is there anything that I can do to bring this to less then 4.7 gb to bring into 1 dvd?
Thanks

what did you use to compress for mpeg2? if you have compressor, once you select your mpeg2 setting (DVD Best quality 90 min) go to your inspector window under the little gear tab, and change your bit rate to 3.8mbps.
here is a helpful link one of my co-workers has created to help with encoding sizes

ohhhh! I get to correct Shane (sort of)! In DVD-SP you can burn a dual layer disc (DVD-9). I don't have or use iDVD so I cannot say if it is dual layer capable.
Another option would be to use a stand-alone DVD recorder. Many have an option to increase the record time up to 4 hours, but quality WILL go downhill fast.

  • How do you connect two Apple ID's?

How do you connect two Apple ID's to one another?

Yes. You can sync multipl iDevices on the same computer using the same Apple ID. You can each have different configurations of apps, books, music, etc. or have identical configurations. In this way, however, your common data - contacts, mail, calendar will be the same on both iDevices.
The Apple ID doesn't distinguish one phone from another, only how the phone will sync to a computer. The Apple ID is how iTunes knows to which computer a phone syncs. And, the Apple ID determines who is the registered owner of downloaded and purchased items via iTunes.

First create an iMovie project. Then drag the clips (or portions of clips) that you need into the project.
When finished, use the SHARE menu to share the project.

  • How do you fit a 40 minute movie on a cd?

question: i have a 40-minute movie (.mov) that i can fit on to a dvd, but the client wants it on a cd rom since a lot of the employees are unable to view dvds. how do you reduce the file so that the quality is still acceptable and is small enough to fit on a cd?
    any advice would be appreciated.
    merci

We do this every week for our church, and the sermon is usually about 43 minutes long. Once exported, just burn it to a CD. Your users will need to have QuickTime to watch it.
Here's what we do to export from FCE, and the resulting file is about 70 MB for 484 x 272. If you want a larger video, you can make it twice the size, and increase the data rate to 816 kbps.
    Export using QuickTime conversion:
Video settings: H.264, 29.97 fps, Key Frames Automatic, Restrict to 204 kbps (for 484 x 272), optimized for download, Frame reordering checked, Encoding Best Quality, size 484 x 272.
Sound settings: AAC, Mono (if stereo, double the data rate), 44.100 kHz, Render Quality Best, VBR Constrained, 48-54, kbps.
That will get you started. Depending on what sort of material you have in the video, you may want to raise the data rate (a CD will hold 700 MB, so you have plenty of space to play with). Try a one minute clip first to see how it comes out before you export the whole thing.
And yes, three hours (depending on your machine) may be what it takes. Our videos usually take less than two hours on a Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • How do you sync two audio clips without a clapper board?

... so the cameras had to be well back to catch the whole shot, and to catch the sound, we used a separate audio recorder closer to the performers.
In hindsight, I suppose we could have used a clapper board but if the board was close to the recorder, it would be hard to see... and if it was closer to the cameras, it would be hard to hear the clap on the recorder.
now the question is how to perfectly sync the better audio from the recorder with the lesser audio from the cameras (then delete the lesser audio)
so far, its not quite right and their lips are off like an old Japanese Sci Fi Movie. Is there any way to move one track frame by frame over the other to get it right? (some sort of keyboard command?)
OR is there some sort of app that someone wrote that could overlay the the good audio with the reference audio and sort of "snap it" into position? The waveforms look similar aside from the quality and strength of the signals.

    Rob, Andy
just wanted to revisit this post. Were onto something great here!
so to update us, I DL'ed "PluralEyes" but it didn't work. Each time I pointed it at the program file, it shut itself down. I tried rebooting the whole machine, trashing preferences etc but it wouldn't work.
the developers were great! got back to me asap. I sent the crash reports and the file I was working on and they discovered a "huge bug"
Today, they emailed me a link to a FIX which be included in their next version but they allowed me to try it today and guess what? it FIXED it!
So I started the app and let it run (its over 2 hr program) the app ran for like an hour and put out two new sequences, "unsynced" and "synced"
    but i have some questions;
there were two cameras and a separate audio recorder.
in "synced" it lined up the recorder audio with the camera 1 audio but it pushed camera 2 and its audio to the side (further down the timeline)
of course, what we want is for camera 2 to also be synced (or sunk;-) so when we cut between cameras, the lips are still in sync.
now how do we get it to line up camera 2?
    screen shot.
in the "synced" sequence, we need to sync camera 2 with camera 1.
also, it has left out much of the program in the "synced sequence" there are actually three tapes from each camera. you can see here that we are left with one tape from each camera.
what do we do from here?
also, before moving anything around, I can link the tracks but that doesnt stop them from getting out of sync. and locking the tracks means they cannot be moved. so how do you attach the audio to video without getting out of sync?
.... In the "good ol days" (so Ive heard) editors had years and years to master their craft. Film & Splicing were in power for like what? 75 years?
Now there are new programs emerging every day with entirely their own learning curve! But if this works just this once, its well worth buying it! its a fantastic app! Im sure it just takes some getting used to!

  • How do you have two classes drawing to the same JPanel? Graphics g problem

    Hi all,
This is probably a five second answer but im really stuck on it!
How do i have two classes both writing to the same JPanel?
    I have one class that extends JPanel and using Graphics g, draws to the panel ie g.drawString(..);
But i would like another class to draw to the same panel, so that the two different classes can both draw what they like to the JPanel.
    How do i do this?
I have tried sending the Graphics g object from the one class to the other but only the original class draws still. I was thinking perhaps if it carn't be done could i have a JPanel on top of the other one that is transparent so there would be a tracing paper effect?
    Many thanks

I have tried sending the Graphics g object from the
one class to the other but only the original class
draws still. I was thinking perhaps if it carn't beThis is the right idea. One problem you may be running into is that JPanel fills in its background with the background color by default. If you switch and use JComponent instead of JPanel you may get better results. Another idea is to use a "painter": a class that has a paint(Graphics g) but is not a component and just paints on a component. I've done this before in implementing Tetris where the dropping piece is a class which can paint itself but is not a component.
