Just uninstall and reinstall iTunes.  Why do you not want to do that?

    Hey snowmanlahaie,
Follow the steps in this link to resolve the issue:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so arearticularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

    Hi Stupid021,
If you are having an issue with signing in to update your software in iTunes, you may want to reset your Apple ID password. Use the steps in this article -

  • How do you fix iTunes' "different" alphabetical ordering system?

I've noticed that iTunes ignores "The"s and "A"s in an artist's names and starts sorting it from the second word.
    For example:
    CNBLUE
    Crystal Kay
    The Cynic Project
It doesn't make any sense if the "The" or the "A" is actually part of an artist's name...
It also sorts A-Z first, 0-9 second instead of the other way around. It's quite awkward to change the sorting order ONLY in iTunes as they sort 0-9 first, and A-Z second in Finder and everything else on a Mac. I've searched the discussions and see that this has annoyed some Mac users in 2006 - 2007.
Are there any recent solutions to this sorting order?
Or is Apple going to stick to this system forever just to be slightly different from the rest of the world?

I've noticed that iTunes ignores "The"s and "A"s in an artist's names and starts sorting it from the second word.
There are a couple of ways to override that.  See this thread for how to change:

Yes, that was introuuced (to the surprise of the users) around that time frame. Unlike the a/an/the issue, I am not aware of a way to change it.  You can make suggestions to Apple at the iTunes Feedback page.

I open iTunes and it automatically closes on my iphone but on my ipad it opens fully and says cannot connect to iTunes

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP,head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • How do you fix itunes error 10319

When I try to sync my iPad 2 on my hard driveI get the error message "10319" and the device will not sync. I created a new administrator user on my computer but the error persists with the new user. I tried manually syncing the iTunes categories (podcasts, photos, etc) sequentially to find what's causing the problem but the "cannot sync" error reappears almost as soon as  I start. I've deleted the 3 iTunes preferences I found in my Library.I would like to delete and replace my iTunes app but I dont have my install discs available. I do have an iTunes app installed on other volumes. Would dragging that app into my hard drive applications folder install it in place of of my current iTunes app?

Are you using the latest version of iTunes?

  • How do you fix the itunes R6034 error

How do you fix the R6034 error with itunes?

    A few more details....
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

If applicable, disconnect any iPod or iOS device and close Microsoft Outlook.

Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update

    iCloud (if present)
MobileMe (if present) (see note 2 below)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple

Download the iTunes setup file and run it to install. Use an account with administrative rights. This can usually be achieved by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Run as... or Run as Administrator. In some cases a combination of Shift or Ctrl keys may be required for the option to show, or it may not be necessary.
If you deleted iCloud and reinstalling iTunes doesn't automatically reinstall it visit iCloud Control Panel.

iTunes Match asks me to sign out and sign in again every time I attempt to update.  How do you fix this problem?

My problem is it asks me to sign out and back in every time I try to update ITunes Match. And it won't let you add a new song to a playlist unless it's updated on Match. So every time I add a song I have to sign out and back in just to put it on a playlist.  I saw this issue on the internet but no solution.
Very sorry I did iTunes Match.  Shuffled my playlists without asking and this additional extra work just to add a song to a playlist.  Not impressed - at all.
I do thank you for trying.  Surprised Apple doesn't monitor this stuff and step in and provide a fix.  Left to our own devices.  Thanks Apple!

Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
