I just got upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit and had to update to Acrobat X Pro.
I was using Acrobat 8 Pro on my XP machine and this was nice since i usally have muliple files open at the same time

You'll need either the installation media (if you bought from a retailer), or a downloaded installer. If you don't have the CD, you can download Acrobat from this links in this document: Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X - Adobe.
It's OK to keep it on the other computer; your license allows you to install it on up to two computers. But, if you'd like you can deactivate it on that old computer, which would free up that activation for use on yet another computer. Please see Activation & Deactivation Help - Adobe
You'll need your serial number to activate on the new computer.

Same problem here. I deactivated Tech Comm Suite, and when I got my new laptop, I installed the new Tech Comm Suite, which is fully licensed. It won't let me open Acrobat.

A particular PDF file can have fonts embedded within it, or may refer to fonts installed in the operating system - but in either case it uses the Postscript name of the font, not the common name seen on menus. This ensures that when fonts are substituted or edits are made to the PDF file, the correct version and vendor are matched, not just the common name. Postscript names are unique, and often end with the initials of the vendor (LT = Linotype, MT = Monotype, etc.). "Times" on a font menu refers to the Linotype font "Times-Roman" (sold by Adobe and others), and "Times New Roman" refers to the Monotype font usually named "TimesNewRomanPSMT" (a Postscript font in a TrueType package, which is part of the standard set on Windows). They look the same from a distance, but internally they are different enough that a direct replacement is not normally possible. If you ever need to work out which has been used and cannot inspect the metadata, look very closely at the number "5" - in the Linotype font it has a tiny serif on the top right corner. Embedding a font into a file has no effect on Acrobat whatsoever (lisabritne, what you're saying makes no sense).

It is showing in downloads that it is there but when I double click on it nothing happens. Nothing at all! It shows the file size and when I look in Spotlight it comes up as the tophit and when I click on it it opens the Adobe Reader icon and shows the file size and I double click and NOTHING happens. Hi. I use Adobe Acrobat XI pro to make a PDF ebook embedded with audio. It works really well on my computer-I can read the book and hear the auto play mp3. The problem is, when I send it to my customers, they have difficulty hearing the audio. A few of them say they have Flash player on their PC and somehow they still can't hear, some say their Google Chrome browser tells them they've already got one flash player while they try to download one. For me, I had to download two versions of Flash player to be able to access to the audio. I don't know what the problem is, is it because it's the latest version of Adobe Acrobat XI pro that people with older version of Adobe reader or flash player can't open it properly? What devices are they using?
What program or apps with versions are they using?
I this age of other then PDF eBooks formats and reader program and apss for computers and mobile devices for these formats I would look at creating the books in one or more of the eBook formats.
Google Chrome and FireFox both have their own version of a PDF reader plug-in and they are well known to be less capable than Adobe Reader. It is possible to configure these products to use Adobe Reader.
