I purchased ringtones and transferred them to Itunes. When I did the sync it pulled them off the phone and when I transfered them back they show on the phone in Itunes but are not on the phone

Yeap, it's another of those "undocumented features" from the Apple cult. The same thing happened to me even though I backed up to iTunes before upgrading. I lost everything... apps, music, podcasts and ebooks.
You'll have to reinstall all your missing apps from the app store. But, don't worry. It's free. It remembers that you bought them. You can even look up past purchases to verify what you bought. (I don't know how far you can go back since I only bought my iPad last month.) The pain is that you have to load them individually.
I also had to separately reload all my music, podcasts and ebooks, which I acquired prior to buying my iPad.
It goes to show that the one area in which Apple really beats out Microsoft, is their hype.
Even so, the iPad is great.

You cannot delete Safari.
It is either on another page, in a folder, or you have restirctiosn set.
Check all three of these possibiities.

Take the following steps:
1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!

Define "I cannot transfer songs." What exactly did you do, and what exactly happened?
Did you authorized iTunes on your computer and sign into the same iTunes account as your phone (and the one the music was purchased under)?

Yes the wipe would delete all personal data settings as a security feature designed in the device.
Unless you have used the Blackberry desktop software to get a full backup of the device prior to the wipe the data is gone. If you do have the backup file you can restore the data via the desktop manager.

Media should be included with the backup of the computer that all users should be creating on a regular basis as part of basic computer/data maintenance.
In the event that you do not have a backup (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files)
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content. They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes. On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer. Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this.

So why doesn't Apple tell you that ICloud won't back up your ringtones? It states " Automatically bck up your camera roll, accounts, documents and settings when IPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to WiFi" Nowhere does it state it doesn't back up ringtones. If it backs up my music, then why doesn't it back up ringtones? I had my ringtones on my ITunes, but when I updated that, they are gone too! I don't understand this answer. What do you mean " your contacts should be in whatever program/service you have selected to sync."? The address book is created on the phone not in Itunes or any other program/service. When Itunes says backing up phone I have to assume it backs up everything on the phone. Most of what's on my phone does not come out of itunes. I download apps directly on the phone. When the software updates it does not bring those apps back. I have to go into the appstore and install them all over again. Itunes music library syncs with whatever is on the device your linked up to BUT the phone book just dissappears after you update the phone. There is no way to save it anywhere else.
