How do you get documents (and other links) to open in Safari?

I have a website that I use for school and there are course documents and such that I would like to open right in the Safari window, but Safari always downloads them. I know that they can be opened in the same window, but I can't figure out how to get Safari to do it.

Most modern Web browsers can only "open" a few file extensions. Some are .html, .htm, .asp, .php and .txt.
Most software create file extensions at saving. Some users choose to "hide" the file extension from the file name and rely on "icons" to decide which app will open them.
So. What does a person have to do to get the browser to open the file?
Example: Microsoft Word creates .doc file extension files and they will always be downloaded in a browser.
TextEdit can create .rtf (Rich Text Format) or .txt (Text) file formats. The .rtf will download but a .txt file can be displayed by a browser.
Microsoft Word can also save a file as .html and it will be viewable in a browser (as long as all the support and image files are inside the same folder).
What is the application that makes the files? What save as (export) options does it allow?

How do you remove iTunes and other Apple products from my PC, manually?

I just bought a $250 5th-gen iPod. But I can't install iTunes.
A while back, I think I just deleted the program folder or something, or maybe the the uninstaller just somehow broke on its own. In any case, the program folder is gone and the uninstaller doesn't work.
Running the iTunes installer gives me the following error:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below.
I did a search and found the iTunes.msi file in a temp folder. I selected it in the installer to try to solve the problem, but I received another error message:
The file "C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Owner\Local Settings\Temp\IXP460.TMP\iTunes.msi" is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes. Try to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes.
So, I uninstalled QuickTime and tried to manually remove every iTunes files and iTunes-related registry entry. No good.
When I run the iTunes installer now, it hangs\freezes when it gets to "Registering modules."
The only solution to the problem is a full manual uninstall.
I called Apple tech support and explained the problem, and they said that registry issues were a third-party problem, emailing me a tech support page I'd already read and suggesting I call Microsoft -- but oh, she said, make sure you don't tell them it's a problem with iTunes registry entries "or they'll refer you back to us."
Yes, because what the iTunes installer does to my PC is not a third-party issue.
I don't blame the tech support people, though, and I hope my post here doesn't lead to any of them being reprimanded.
Anyway, my request is simple: Someone, anyone, give me a list of every file and registry entry that Apple software adds to my computer, so I can remove it manually.

hmmmmm. by any chance do you have SpyCatcher (or the version of GhostSurf platinum that contains SpyCatcher) on that PC?
if so, try uninstalling SpyCatcher altogether prior to the itunes install. if it goes through properly this time, launch itunes at least once prior to reinstalling SpyCatcher.

I have been having a lot of trouble connecting my ipad2 and iphone4 via Bluetooth. My iPad detects every other phone nearby except my iPhone. It does not even detect my wife's iphone4. It does detect my daughter's iphone 3S. The is very weird cause my iPhone is on iOS5, while my daughter's iphone3 is on the older iOS.
My iphone4 is simply unable to detect any other Bluetooth devices, apple device or otherwise.
This is very frustrating indeed when such advanced devices cannot do a simple function.a

How do you get sound and video from a macbook pro (before 2010) onto a 2010 toshiba 40" tv?

Any help on connecting a macbook pro (late 2009) to a 2010 toshiba 40" for both sound and video? I have the mini-hdmi cable, but have no idea about running sound through the tv. I can use the headphone jack, but don't know where to connect it to on the back of the tv. Repair your Quicktime.

I've looked around on and it looks like this is actually something that people do -- its common in ProTools. Anyone know a way for me to do this or something similar??

How do you get the Audio Meters panel to open?

On page 278 of the PDF it states:
Audio Meters panel
1. Select Window > Audio Meters.
2. Right-click the panel and use the options to do the following…
In the PDF, a nice little graphic of Audio Meters is shown underneath (1) (see below).
When I go to the Window menu, however, Audio Meters is permanently ticked. Nothing I do can untick it. I can open the Audio Mixer. I understand how that works – looks similar to the Tascam Portastudio 144 I've had since the early 80s – but when I try Audio Meters… nothing.
Any suggestions?

How do you get Stylematch in elements 9 to open up with lower settings?

When i open up stylematch, the settings for: style intensity, style clarity, and enhance details are set quite high.When i print tne merged image, it spoils it. High settings cause too much interference. if the settings are low, the print is ok. Everytime i drag an image in for it to match and merge with the other; the settings default themselves to a higher setting. So this interferes with the image. So i can not achieve a good standard quality print! I need 'stylematch' to open up with the settings, already set to how i want them. How do I set, the default settings, in stylematch, on a Mac?

In addition the Mail app appears to be corrupted or something. None of my saved e-mails, folders etc appear when the app launches, but these things reside elsewhere on the hard drive.
What did I do?
Nothing! Installed nothing nor downloaded nothing. This sounds like a Windoze problem but it's a Mac OS issue. Help!!!
