Years and years ago when I paid for an email address with mac.com I opened my itunes account and all. After getting tired of paying for an email account I made a new one, which I can't remember but I thought I changed it, but obviously the .mac stayed on. My itunes is a gmail account and I have no problems there. But today when I updated my iphone, after downloading, iphone asked me to enter password for the .mac account. Well I have no idea what that is now. I don't know how to even retrieve it. I can't find the settings to change it over to my gmail account either on my phone. I go to itunes and it has the gmail account listed, but when trying to activate some things that involved the update, it still asks for .mac account password. I'm beginning to think this is why I can't get authorization on some of my itune songs to play, they keep saying can't authorize when I am still within the 5 computer limit. I think I'm going to get a Droid...

If you are seeing the old Apple ID with regard to this Mac, then it would seem that somehow you have incorporated the ID in the setup of this new Mac.
Iphoto i use never used imovie.
If you began using iPhoto without having Accepted it into your Apple ID, then that would explain why you are unable to update the app. If any of the iLife apps are used without Accepting them into your Apple ID, the ability to accept them will lapse and you will not be able to update them.

You don't. Unless they were purchased from the iTunes store, then you can go to File > Transfer purchases. Or you can right click (ctrl click if you're on a Mac) on the name of the device in the source list in iTunes and then choose Transfer purchases.

I'm getting the error message "Photos folder syncing has been disabled for the iPhone <my iPhone> because the folder "Pictures" cannot be found." lately.
Normally, all I do with photos is move them from my iPhone to my computer's (Windows 7) hard drive. I do this by connecting the iPhone with the cable, a box pops up on the screen asking me what I want to do, and I choose "Import pictures and videos". I've previously selected the "delete photos from the device after move" option (or however it's worded...), simply because I don't want this device to fill up with photos.
Lately, it has been importing the photos fine, but it won't delete them from the iPhone. This used to work just fine, now it doesn't work and I don't know what changed, if anything. In iTunes, I get the error message I list at the beginning of this message.

Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library). When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device). -

2) Try a third party application (none have the features of iDVD though).

Easy enough to sync iTunes albums to the iPad, but how about albums that currently exist only on the iPad? How do you get iTunes to import photo albums it doesn't currently know about? For example I have an app that saves it's files to an album called 'Saved'. I want iTunes to make a local computer copy during 'sync'. I was transferring files from the iPad to the computer via WiFi, but at least on my iPad, WiFi is extremely unreliable, often dropping the connection during data transfers. I finally gave up and decided to do this via USB until Apple gets their act together.
Easy enough to sync iTunes albums to the iPad, but how about albums that currently exist only on the iPad?
If you are transferring photos from iPhoto on your Mac, you mean the iPhoto albums that are available to select under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences? if so, this is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPad.
iTunes does not handle the import of photos from your iPad, which can include photos imported from a digital camera or from a digital camera's storage card with the Camera Connection Kit, or a photo saved from a received email, from a website, or by a 3rd party app that is capable of saving a photo in the same location.
It sounds like the app developer has allowed for transferring photos saved by the app in the app's "Saved" area to your computer via an available wi-fi network that both your computer and iPad are connected to. Unless the app developer allows for saving the photos from the app's "Saved" area to the same location where a photo saved from a received email or from a website is stored, there is no way to import these photos via iPhoto or the Image Capture application on your Mac, which is used for importing photos, not iTunes.
